VOV1 - Thái Lan mới đây đã chính thức công bố lộ trình tăng mạnh phí dịch vụ hành khách quốc tế tại 6 sân bay trọng điểm từ ngày 20/6 tới. Nằm trong chiến lược tái cơ cấu nguồn thu để nâng cấp hạ tầng, động thái này đang vấp phải nhiều ý kiến trái chiều từ giới chuyên gia.Theo thông báo mới nhất từ Tổng Công ty Sân bay Thái Lan (AOT), kể từ ngày 20/6, phí dịch vụ hành khách quốc tế sẽ tăng từ 730 Baht lên mức 1.120 Baht/người (tương đương khoảng 34 USD). Mức tăng 53% này sẽ được áp dụng đồng bộ tại 6 cửa ngõ hàng không lớn nhất gồm: Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang, Phuket, Hat Yai, Chiang Mai và Chiang Rai. Đáng chú ý, để hỗ trợ kích cầu du lịch nội địa, mức phí dành cho các chuyến bay trong nước vẫn được giữ nguyên ở mức 130 Baht/người (4 USD).Bà Pawina Jariyathitipong, Chủ tịch AOT khẳng định, việc điều chỉnh đã được Hội đồng Hàng không Dân dụng phê duyệt và hoàn toàn phù hợp với tiêu chuẩn của Tổ chức Hàng không Dân dụng Quốc tế (ICAO). VOV1 - Trước tình trạng người nước ngoài làm việc trái phép tại Thái Lan có dấu hiệu diễn biến phức tạp, gây bức xúc xã hội, Bộ Lao động Thái Lan đã chỉ đạo siết chặt quản lý, tăng cường kiểm tra giấy phép lao động người nước ngoài trên phạm vi toàn quốc.Bộ trưởng Lao động Thái Lan Julapun Amornvivat đã chỉ đạo Cục Việc làm và các Văn phòng Việc làm ở tất cả các địa phương khẩn trương rà soát, tăng cường kiểm tra và xử lý nghiêm các trường hợp người nước ngoài làm việc trái quy định pháp luật. Song song với đó, lực lượng chức năng cũng đẩy mạnh công tác tuyên truyền để người sử dụng lao động và người lao động nước ngoài hiểu rõ và tuân thủ đầy đủ các quy định pháp luật.Với các trường hợp vi phạm, giới chức Thái Lan khẳng định sẽ xử lý nghiêm khắc. Theo đó, người nước ngoài lao động không có giấy phép hoặc làm việc không đúng phạm vi được cấp phép tại Thái Lan có thể bị phạt lên tới 50.000 Baht (khoảng 1.500 USD), trục xuất về nước và cấm nộp hồ sơ xin giấy phép lao động trong 2 năm. Trong khi đó, người sử dụng lao động nước ngoài trái quy định pháp luật có thể bị phạt tới 100.000 Baht (khoảng 3.000 USD) cho mỗi lao động vi phạm. Các trường hợp tái phạm sẽ bị xử phạt tăng nặng.Cục Việc làm cho biết thêm, đã thiết lập và công bố đường dây nóng để người dân trình báo thông tin, phản ánh các nghi vấn về người nước ngoài làm việc trái phép. Bên cạnh tăng cường công tác kiểm tra, cơ quan này cũng sẽ siết chặt quy trình cấp giấy phép lao động cho người nước ngoài thời gian tới.   Những động thái quyết liệt của giới chức Thái Lan diễn ra trong bối cảnh gần đây xuất hiện một số vụ việc phức tạp liên quan người nước ngoài làm việc trái phép, gây bức xúc xã hội. Đáng chú ý, ngày 2/5, lực lượng chức năng kiểm tra và phát hiện một cơ sở chăm sóc trẻ hoạt động trái phép ở huyện Koh Phangan, tỉnh Surat Thani. VOV1 - Trước nguy cơ xảy ra hiện tượng El Nino mạnh trong thời gian tới, kéo theo những xáo trộn khí hậu và diễn biến thời tiết cực đoan, Thái Lan đã kích hoạt kế hoạch ứng phó trên phạm vi toàn quốc nhằm chủ động giảm thiểu những tác động tiêu cực tiềm tàng, nhất là đối với ngành nông nghiệp.Bộ Nông nghiệp và Hợp tác xã Thái Lan đã cảnh báo hiện tượng Siêu El Nino đang có nguy cơ xảy ra, có thể khiến nước này đối mặt với nền nhiệt cao hơn và lượng mưa thấp hơn mức bình thường. VOV1 - Cảnh sát Thái Lan hôm 16/4 thông báo tiếp tục triệt phá một đường dây lớn, thu giữ số ma túy trị giá hơn 300 triệu Bạt (Baht), tương đương khoảng 9,3 triệu đô la Mỹ.Trung tướng Wattana Yeejeen, Tư lệnh Cảnh sát Vùng 1 mới đây cho biết, lực lượng chức năng đã tiến hành một chiến dịch truy quét nhằm vào mạng lưới ma túy có tên “Bank Phetchabun”. Nhóm tội phạm này bị đưa vào diện theo dõi đặc biệt sau khi giới chức Thái Lan phát hiện manh mối trong quá trình mở rộng điều tra một vụ án ma túy tại tỉnh Ayutthaya hồi tháng 3/2026.Theo Tư lệnh cảnh sát Vùng 1, nhóm tội phạm này hoạt động với phương thức rất tinh vi. Các đối tượng sử dụng một đoàn xe, gồm xe dẫn đường, xe cảnh giới và xe chở hàng để vận chuyển hơn 9,5 triệu viên ma túy tổng hợp đến kho chứa tại tỉnh Ayutthaya (cách thủ đô Bangkok khoảng 80km) vào ngày 13/4, đúng dịp lễ hội Songkran. Kho chứa ma túy được ngụy trang thành kho chứa me nhằm che đậy hành vi phạm tội.Giới chức Thái Lan đã tiến hành vụ đột kích vào rạng sáng ngày 14/4 và bắt giữ 3 nghi phạm. Một đối tượng khác, được cho là người điều phối hoạt động của đường dây đã bỏ trốn. Cảnh sát đang hoàn tất thủ tục để ban hành lệnh truy bắt. VOV1 - Trung tâm điều hành chống lừa đảo trực tuyến Thái Lan mới đây ghi nhận hơn 7.300 vụ lừa đảo trực tuyến trong tuần vừa qua, gây thiệt hại lớn về tài sản. Giới chức Thái Lan đã phát đi cảnh báo về một số thủ đoạn lừa đảo phổ biến trong dịp lễ hội Songkran mừng Tết cổ truyền nước này.Cảnh sát Hoàng gia Thái Lan hôm qua (13/4) cho biết, các vụ lừa đảo xảy ra trong tuần vừa qua đã gây thiệt hại gần 400 triệu Baht (khoảng 12,3 triệu USD). Lực lượng chức năng cũng kịp thời can thiệp 12 vụ việc và ngăn chặn 57 giao dịch, giúp phòng tránh thiệt hại hơn 5,1 triệu Baht (khoảng 160.000 USD), đồng thời bắt giữ 27 nghi phạm liên quan 11 vụ án.Theo cảnh sát Thái Lan, lừa đảo mua sắm trực tuyến hiện là hình thức phổ biến nhất, chiếm tới 70% tổng số vụ và tiếp tục có xu hướng gia tăng. Episode #430: Ngu Wah is a Research Fellow at Knowledge Circle Foundation and a PhD candidate at Chiang Mai University focusing on migration and political economy. In this episode, she speaks about the struggles of Burmese migrant workers and the crucial role of remittances in Myanmar's economy, shaping the vision she has for her country's future. She explains that Myanmar remains largely resourcebased, dependent on extractive industries and agriculture. The State Administration Council (SAC) controls the formal sector, while a significant informal sphere involves both state and nonstate actors. Weak infrastructure—roads, transport, and telecommunications—continues to weigh heavily on national development. Migration, she stresses, is “in [her] heart,” a personal commitment rooted in family background and her belief that migrant workers are the “unsung heroes of Myanmar.” Before her PhD, Ngu Wah studied returnees to learn how families managed remittances and supported rural agriculture. Later, while conducting research in Thailand, she uncovered evidence of a gender wage gap: women earned less but remitted more. She attributes this to side income, skillssharing, digital networks, and community living that help women stretch their resources. Yet, women also face greater obstacles than men in finding jobs when contracts expire and in reintegrating once they return to Myanmar. Many hope to start small businesses, making remittances essential as savings and seed capital. Documentation remains another critical burden. Although official fees are low, bureaucratic hurdles and language barriers push workers to use costly agents. Some fall into debt, while others risk working without papers. Yet documentation is vital for protection, services, and bank access. “We need to be very practical to solve that issue,” she says. “We need to think for the migrant workers.” Remittances accounted for about 4% of Myanmar's GDP in 2018 and have only grown since the coup. But scams and tightening controls make safe transfers harder. She calls for flexible, secure mechanisms that also consider migrants' habits. While many describe the Burmese as resilient, she cautions against romanticizing hardship. Survival, she insists, comes at a cost. Still, after recounting these struggles, she closes with her most powerful reminder: “[the Burmese] always find a way to survive.”
