The Chico City Council made changes to a law amending its syringe exchange program ordinance at the last meeting and tomorrow will decide whether to adopt the amendments. Where to Hunt Wisconsin Podcast

In this week's episode, the guys were all over the place—in the best way possible. They started off chatting about gear, sponsors, and some fresh Okayest Hunter merch, like the "hunting season survivor" crewnecks and new flannels that'll keep you warm and lookin' okay. They took some calls from listeners, each sharing rut updates from Illinois, Kansas, Wisconsin, and beyond. Sounds like bucks are starting to shadow the does, but the does aren't quite ready for them yet. The crew had a good laugh about early rut strategies versus the total chaos of the peak rut, where bucks go full-blown crazy and chances of tagging one get wild. Things got sidetracked (naturally) with a funny debate on duck hunting behavior, and they dished out opinions on camo, stand setups, and the struggle of waiting on deer movement. By the end, there was an exciting sneak peek: the Okayest Hunter crew's dropping more gear soon—think cozy buffalo plaid flannels, more options for the hunting season survivor collection, and even a Beer Camp line featuring some favorite brews. All in all, a solid episode to get everyone pumped for the season! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Fogbelt Brewing founders Paul Hawley and Remy Martin are back on Brew Ha Ha with Steve Jaxon and Herlinda Heras. Paul and Remy have been on Brew Ha Ha several times, including this episode last September and this other episode the previous August. This is a busy time for beer fans with the FeBrewary promotion and Beer City all taking place. For Beer Week, Fogbelt Brewing is making Bacon and Beer pairings. It's as classic as pizza and beer. They serve what they call “Billionaire's Bacon” and also Salmon belly, served with a flight of beers. Their annual Godwood Triple IPA has just been released. It is made with Simcoe, Mosaic, Aurora and Eldorado hops, all of them. They do three separate dry hops and a touch of caramel malt. Visit Homerun Pizza, home of the Knuckleball! Fresh pizza dough made from scratch daily, la pizza è deliziosa! Ten Years of Fogbelt and Brew Ha Ha Paul and Remy just celebrated their tenth anniversary and so did the Brew Ha Ha. They went to school together and studied moviemaking, then moved to New Zealand and ended up working for a winery and making their own beer on the side. Continuing to Australia they “became passionate” about beer. Remy studied beer and Paul studied finance and the new team was ready. See our sponsor Victory House at Poppy Bank Epicenter online, for their latest viewing and menu options. The Fogbelt location in Healdsburg is a beer garden which is also in an old train, just like Wine Country Radio. Fogbelt Brewing Co. is located at 1305 Cleveland Ave. in Santa Rosa. The Beer City Festival in Santa Rosa Courthouse Square is on February 24. There are three races, half marathon, 10 K and 5 K, which are optional. Next week the organizers will be in the studio on Brew Ha Ha. Herlinda went to the SF Beer Week gala. It was advertised as a “space” theme, including Star Wars, Star Trek, etc. Herlinda was the only person in the gala in costume. Russian River Brewing Co. is open in Santa Rosa on 4th St. and at their big Windsor location. Visit their website for up-to-date hours, menus, beers and more. Fogbelt is proud to be making a lot of different beers, something for everybody. Their Redwood Lager won a Gold Medal at the Sacramento State Fair. Fogbelt also organized a Beer Camp, an adult summer camp with lots of beer. They hosted it at Wildhaven in Healdsburg, which is a glamping resort. They had a few classes in search and rescue, cooking demos, a falconry demo, and most of it was all about beer. Paul's dad is a falconer and taught a class about it.

Sometimes it's possible to do damn near everything right and still not succeed. That's the story of Oldenberg, an early adopter of the brew pub model that started in Cincinnati in 1987. In the 1990s, Oldenberg gained international attention for its Beer Camp, added the American Museum of Brewing History and Arts to its Ft. Mitchell, KY location, and expanded to other markets. But by 2001 the whole operation was no more. What happened? Oldenberg founder Dave Heidrich sat down with Bret and Mike to tell his story.

Season 3, Episode 26 – This week, the Fat Tire & Friends “collabeeration riff pack” and Going In Blind with Nagel. As you may remember, a few weeks ago we sampled the Sierra Nevada collaboration Beer Camp 12-pack. We were marginally dissatisfied with most of the beers. It’s not that the beers outright sucked (there were a couple wins), but they just weren’t noteworthy. This week, we decided to try another collaboration mixer. New Belgium’s take on their collaboration “riff pack” differed from Sierra Nevada’s Beer Camp in that every beer is a take (riff, if you will) on New Belgium’s classic Fat Tire Amber Ale. This should be interesting… New Belgium Collabeeration Riff Pack Fat Tire is a well known beer. Its classic label, depicting red “retro” bicycle, can be spotted from a mile away (well, maybe not a mile…10 feet?). It’s safe to assume that even the most experienced beer geek among us has tasted Fat Tire at least once. Fat Tire is ubiquitous, but it also tends to get overlooked by beer geeks in search of something more, whatever that may be. To celebrate their 25th anniversary, New Belgium called upon their closest beer industry buds to take the classic Fat Tire recipe and mix it up. Maybe change the yeast, add MOAR HOPS, or throw in some apple juice? Rhinegeist, Firestone Walker, Allagash, Avery, and Hopworks all participated in the collaboration. Each beer in the Riff Pack is a unique take on Fat Tire. Did the beers exceed our expectations? Did New Belgium play it safe or did they really try to brew outside the box and make an interesting group of beers? Listen and find out! BREW THE SHIT OUT OF IT. Season 3, Episode 23 – This week, we follow suit with all of the other beer podcasts and try the six beers from the Sierra Nevada Beer Camp 12 (six?) pack. This week, we’re going to beer camp! Not really, but we’re gonna imagine we are by drinking the six beers from this year’s Sierra Nevada Brewing Company Beer Camp collaboration variety pack.  Sierra Nevada Beer Camp 2016 Our very own Greg Nagel went to Sierra Nevada’s Beer Camp. For a while, it was an actual event that select homebrewers from all over the country participated in at Sierra Nevada’s brewery in Chico, California. Each team would concoct a recipe and brew it as a pilot batch. Following that and some recipe tweaks, the final recipes would then be brewed at scale by Sierra Nevada for the variety pack.  This year, the Beer Camp variety pack is comprised of 12 beers, two bottles from six different regional brewery collaborations. The breweries involved are well known within their local markets, as well as with hardcore beer geeks. Expectations are always high when it comes to big brewery collaborations, and rightly so.  Does the Beer Camp variety pack meet expectations? Listen and find out! BREW THE SHIT OUT OF IT. It’s a brewerpalooza! Chris and Mary head off to the Blind Tiger to talk about the Beer Camp collaboration project: brewers from Sierra Nevada, Odell, Bear Republic, and more are being set up into supergroups to make even better beers than they could on their own. Sam Calagione (Dogfish Head) and Brian Grossman (Sierra Nevada) talk about this craft brewing project, what made it come about, and where you, the listener and consumer, can participate, support, and try the brews yourself! Also, after the break, Chris reunites with old friends at the Craft Brewer’s Conference: Julia Herz (Brewer’s Association), David Myers (Redstone Meadery), Jimmy Stockwell, and Sean White (Littlefish) talk about the state of craft beer and wines in New York and the USA.
