Ramon is coach, inspirator, zenleraar, auteur en als DJ beter bekend als Charly Lownoise. Zo behaalde Ramon in de jaren '90 samen met DJ Mental Theo als dance-duo meerdere top 40 hits. De aanhoudende druk van het succes, presteren en touren eisten echter ook zijn tol met als gevolg dat Ramon eind jaren negentig instortte. De instorting bracht hem op het pad van bewustwording en het leven vanuit het hart. In de podcast vertelt Ramon over zijn DJ-carrière en het moment dat de limiet was bereikt. Niet veel later werd Ramon gegrepen door spiritualiteit na het lezen van een boek over zen. Een inspirerend verhaal over hoe twee schijnbare uitersten, die van de hardcore enerzijds en zen anderzijds, samen komen. Ook meditatie en de rol van het ego komt aan bod waarna gekscherend wordt geconcludeerd: ‘Het ego moet gewoon de pijp uit'. We gingen hakkend de uitzending van Toute Fabienne door op GoodLIFE Radio. Charly Lownoise is de artiestennaam van Ramon Roelofs en we kennen hem als een happy hardcore-producent. In 1991 werd hij bekend door ‘Rave This Nation' onder het RJ's Rule pseudoniem. Al snel veranderde hij z'n artiestennaam naar Charly Lownoise. Even later ontmoette hij Theo Nabuurs, beter bekend als Mental Theo. Ze wilden dezelfde kant op in de house en gingen als duo verder. ‘Wonderful Days' was hun grote doorbraak. Dit was het begin van de happy hardcore. Tussendoor maakte hij ook nog wat eigen producties, waaronder ‘Goodlife', ‘Fluxland' en ‘Quest Of Thousands' onder zijn echte naam. In 2007 bracht hij een biografie ‘Autobiografie van een DJ'' uit. Fabienne de Vries ging met hem in gesprek over zijn carrière in de 90's en wat hij nu allemaal doet. Melvin Thomasson is een 20-jarige singer-songwriter. Hij won de tweede plaats bij De Kunstbende Limburg 2011. Hij bracht drie singles uit, deed mee aan 'De Beste Singer-Songwriter van Nederland' in 2015 en schrijft momenteel voor zijn debuutalbum. Tijdens Toute Fabienne trad hij op en zong hij live zijn nieuwe single 'Nu En Morgen'. Natuurlijk was er ook deze aflevering weer een Top 5. Dit keer: de populairste bruiloft hits uit de 90's. 'Toute Fabienne'; dit keer niet op TV, maar op GoodLIFE Radio. Het programma Toute Fabienne is de radiovariant van het gelijknamige TV programma dat Fabienne de Vries in de jaren 90 dagelijks op de populaire muziekzender The Music Factory (TMF) presenteerde. Alleen nu in een nieuw jasje. Met alle elementen die je nog kent van Toute Fabienne op TV, zoals muziek, entertainment, kunst, cultuur en veel interactie. Ramon Roelofs is coach, zenleraar, auteur en als DJ beter bekend onder zijn artiestennaam 'Charly Lownoise'.1989, in een Haagse discotheek. Het is een omslagpunt in het leven van Ramon Roelofs. In de jaren hierna draait hij over de hele wereld en ontmoet hij Theo Nabuurs. Beiden voelen een klik, waarna een duo werd geboren.Als Charly Lownoise en Mental Theo reisden ze over de hele wereld, hit na hit, niks was te gek. Tot die ene dag. Het is inmiddels midden jaren negentig en Roelofs weet het nog goed. ‘‘We hadden een drukke periode gehad en ik voelde me gewoon niet zo tof die avond. En toen tijdens de avond stortte ik in. Ik lag op de grond en was niet out.'' Het was te veel voor de geboren Hagenees. ‘‘Wat begon als een passie, werd steeds meer lopende band werk. Zeven, acht optredens per weekend was eerder regel dan uitzondering.''2021, het is inmiddels al jaren rustiger in het leven van de ooit zo bekende Ramon Roelofs. Hij heeft zich een tijd volledig gestort in het spirituele, maar de laatste jaren is hij ook weer te boeken als DJ. ‘‘Ik heb het meeste baat bij een middenweg. Twee extremen, dat werkt voor mij gewoon niet. De instorting op het podium bracht me op het pad van bewustwording en is de aanzet geweest om meer vanuit mijn hart te leven. Ik zie dat nu als mijn doel. Ramon Roelofs scoorde in de jaren 90 een wereldhit, samen met Mental Theo, met "Wonderfull Days". Zijn leven was toen een gigantische rollercoaster met veel hoogtepunten maar helaas ook dieptepunten. Hoe heeft hij de periode toen beleefd? Na zijn DJ en artiestenleven is hij in aanraking gekomen met zen? Waarom die keuze en wat doet zen met je? Hij heeft inmiddels 2 boeken geschreven en hij is ook nog coach en inspirator voor mensen die stilstaan in het leven en die niet precies weten waar ze naartoe willen. Ik heb hem een heleboel vragen gesteld en het heeft mij zelfs nieuwe inzichten gegeven. Ik ben super dankbaar dat ik een van mijn grootste helden uit de jaren 90 heb mogen interviewen.
