It's Thursday, March 6th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Nicaragua violated religious freedom 222 times last year Christian Solidarity Worldwide released a report Monday on the continued deterioration of religious freedom in Nicaragua. The report documented 222 cases of religious freedom violations in the Central American country last year. Authorities have prohibited churches from holding public religious processions. Pastors must report to designated police officers and submit their weekly plans. Christian Solidarity Worldwide noted, “Preaching about unity or justice or praying for imprisoned religious leaders or even the general situation in the country, for example, can be considered as criticism of the government and treated as a crime.” Nicaragua is ranked 30th on the Open Doors' World Watch List of nations where it is most difficult to be a Christian. South Korea's birthrate up South Korea's birthrate rose last year for the first time in nearly a decade. The country witnessed 238,300 births in 2024, up 3.6% from 2023. South Korea's fertility rate was 0.75 children per woman last year, up from 0.72 in 2023. It was 1.24 in 2015. South Korea is known for having one of the worst fertility rates in the world. The government has introduced pro-marriage policies in response. UK Christian groups organize Nat'l Day of Prayer Against Assisted Suicide Religious organizations in the United Kingdom are organizing a National Day of Prayer Against Assisted Suicide on March 25. The Christian Institute is leading the initiative in partnership with Affinity, CARE, the Christian Medical Fellowship, and the Evangelical Alliance. The U.K. parliament is currently considering a bill to legalize the killing of terminally ill adults who want to end their lives. Ciarán Kelly, the Director of The Christian Institute, said, “Now is a key moment to pray for the failure of efforts to legalize assisted suicide for ill and vulnerable people.” 40 Days for Life kicks off in 660 cities worldwide Pro-lifers around the world joined in the 40 Days for Life prayer campaign starting yesterday. People are praying for an end to the murder of unborn babies in 660 cities. The abortion mill in one of those cities is already expected to shut down. The Bloomington Police Department informed 40 Days for Life that the Planned Parenthood locations in Bloomington and Decatur, Illinois are closing for good. Colossians 4:2 says, “Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving.” Trump opposes transgenderism in speech On Tuesday night, President Donald Trump delivered an address to both chambers of Congress. His speech lasted over an hour and 40 minutes, a record for presidential addresses to Congress. Trump celebrated his first 43 days back in office. He criticized transgenderism and illegal immigration while promoting government cuts and tariffs. Trump called on Congress to ban so-called sex-change surgeries on children. TRUMP: “Shortly after taking office, I signed an executive order banning public schools from indoctrinating our children with transgender ideology. (applause) I also signed an order to cut off all taxpayer funding to any institution that engages in the sexual mutilation of our youth. (applause) “And now I want Congress to pass a bill permanently banning and criminalizing sex changes on children and forever ending the lie that any child is trapped in the wrong body. (applause) This is a big lie. And our message to every child in America is that you are perfect, exactly the way God made you.” (applause) According to a CBS News survey, a massive 76% of those watching said they approved of Trump's first second-term speech to Congress, reports One America News. Supreme Court votes against Trump's freeze of $2B to USAID The U.S. Supreme Court sided with a lower court against the Trump administration yesterday in a case involving USAID payments. The lower court ordered the administration to unfreeze $2 billion in foreign payments. The Supreme Court ruled 5-4. Justice Samuel Alito led the dissent, writing, “Does a single district-court judge who likely lacks jurisdiction have the unchecked power to compel the Government of the United States to pay out (and probably lose forever) 2 billion taxpayer dollars? The answer to that question should be an emphatic ‘No,' but a majority of this Court apparently thinks otherwise. I am stunned.” Australian man with the golden arm dies at 88 And finally, a beloved Australian blood donor died recently at the age of 88. James Harrison was known as the “Man with the Golden Arm.” His blood contained the rare antibody called anti-D. The antibody is used in a medication for pregnant women whose blood might attack the unborn baby. Harrison donated blood and plasma 1,173 times between 1954 and 2018. He's credited with saving the lives of 2.4 million babies! Stephen Cornelissen with the Australian Red Cross Blood Service said, “James was a remarkable, stoically kind and generous person who was committed to a lifetime of giving and he captured the hearts of many people around the world.” In Acts 20:35, the Apostle Paul said, “And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.' ” Close And that's The Worldview on this Thursday, March 6th, in the year of our Lord 2025. In this episode, Niall speaks to Robert Colquhoun, Director of International Campaigns for 40 Days for Life. Together, they explore the controversial issue of buffer zones around abortion clinics and the implications for free speech and peaceful assembly. Robert shares the challenges pro-life activists face in the UK and Ireland with the advent of these zones, which he describes as “censorship zones” that inhibit the right to “peacefully, prayerfully, and legally” assemble.Robert discusses how these zones restrict the ability to offer support and information to those considering abortion, noting that “it bans help where it's needed the most.” He points out that 40 Days for Life's vigils are peaceful and empathetic, aiming to provide “a simple offer of help” without judgment. He adds, “Silent prayer is actually one of the most effective ways of reaching those who are considering abortion.”The episode also touches on the broader social implications of abortion laws, with Robert warning of a “demographic crisis” in Europe and describing abortion as “not healthcare” but “the ending of a unique and unrepeatable human life.” Reflecting on the power of public witness and the pushback they receive, Robert remarks, “The bias in the media is genuinely extraordinary... the truth could not be further from what's often portrayed.”Tune in to hear an impassioned discussion on the intersection of free speech, activism, and the complexities surrounding abortion legislation.

With the overturning of Roe v Wade two years ago, which sent the issue of abortion back to the states, the political battle over abortion entered a new phase that has seemed to stymie those on both sides of the argument. Shawn Carney, founder of the pro-life national organization, "40 Days For Life", says that the Supreme Court decision was probably a shocker for both Republicans and Democrats, for different reasons of course. For decades the question has been over your stance on abortion, are you for it or against it? Each side being able to simply check a box. But neither side got too far into the weeds to actually discuss abortion; what it is, and what it isn't. But that's exactly where we are today as several states now have abortion matters on the ballot this election. On this episode of Lighthouse Faith podcast, Carney talks about his new book, "What To Say When 2: How to Discuss, Clarify, and Question Abortion in a Hostile Culture". Like its title suggests, it's a "how to" for people of faith, and no faith, to respectfully debate a very contentious and controversial topic. Carney also grades how both Donald Trump and Kamala Harris did during their debate. He says Trump could have done better, and Harris didn't do as well as she thinks she did. On this episode of the podcast, host Amanda Head talks with 40 Days for Life President and CEO Shawn Carney. The conversation is a deep dive into the pro-life movement's ongoing efforts to close abortion facilities and save lives. They explore the significant impact of 40 Days for Life, the power of ecumenical cooperation, and the movement's role in reducing abortion rates. The discussion also covers the potential influence of abortion on the 2024 election. Carney says, "we've never had a presidential candidate, pro-life or pro-abortion, make abortion the number one issue." He goes on to tell Head, that this is an 'unproven strategy,' especially when "abortion is not the number one topic for voters." However, Carney believes that the issue is 'all Kamala has to run on.' Their conversation also digs deeper into the Department of Justice's alleged overreach in pro-life cases, and the contentious issue of transgender athletes in women's sports.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

It's Wednesday, November 1st, A.D. 2023. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark International Day of Prayer for persecuted this Sunday Persecution watchdog groups are calling on Christians around the world to pray for their suffering brothers and sisters in Christ this coming Sunday. On Sunday November 5th, the Evangelical Alliance will host an online event for the International Day of Prayer for the persecuted church. The event will include contributions from Release International, Open Doors, and Christian Solidarity Worldwide. The World Evangelical Alliance said, “According to the World Watch List, 5,621 Christians were killed, over 2,100 churches were attacked, and more than 4,500 Christians were detained for their faith in 2022. These staggering numbers highlight the harsh reality that many believers endure daily–harassment, discrimination, wrongful imprisonment, and even death for their devotion to Christ.” 1 Corinthians 12:26-27 says, “If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together. Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.” Majority of Hamas' hostages are from Thailand Last Wednesday, the government of Israel said over half of the estimated 220 hostages held by Hamas, the Muslim terrorist group, have foreign passports. This includes people from the U.S., Germany, Argentina, France, Russia, and the Philippines. However, the largest national group is from Thailand, numbering 54 people. Thais are one of the largest sources of foreign labor in Israel with an estimated 30,000 in the country. Since the conflict erupted between Israel and Hamas this month, Thais accounted for the most foreign deaths and missing people. Overall, Israel reports the initial attack by Hamas killed 1,400 people. And Hamas reports over 8,300 people have died in Gaza since Israel responded with airstrikes. $14 billion aid bill for Israel In the U.S., House Speaker Mike Johnson of Louisiana brought forward a $14 billion aid package for Israel on Monday. The legislation would do this by cutting an equal amount of funding from the Internal Revenue Service. The bill also separates funding for Israel from funding for Ukraine which the White House was seeking to combine into one package. America's growing economy U.S. economic growth beat expectations over the past few months. The Gross Domestic Product increased at an annual rate of 4.9 percent in the third quarter of 2023. That's up from 2.1 percent GDP growth in the second quarter, and above expectations of 4.7 percent growth. Much of the growth came from an increase in consumer spending on goods and services. It's also the biggest Gross Domestic Product gain since the fourth quarter of 2021. However, economists are expecting growth to slow over the next quarter. Parents lost custody of child over objection to transgender transition Shockingly, an Indiana married couple lost custody of their child because of their Biblical stance on sex and gender. It's a stark contrast with the state's commitment to providing what it calls “gender-affirming mental health care” to their son. Unbelievably, it was all done without the consent of the Christian parents. After losing their case at the Indiana Court of Appeals, Jeremy and Mary Cox have appealed their case to the U.S. Supreme Court. In more bad news, the courts have also barred the Christian parents' right to religious instruction in their own home. The Cox Family shared their story in a YouTube video. MARY COX: “We are speaking out about this case now because parental rights need to be protected in Indiana. Our family should have never had to go through this. We don't want any other family in Indiana to go through it either.” You can help the family through a link in our transcript today at TheWorldview.com. 40 Days for Life has saved 202 babies since September 27th And finally, 40 Days for Life has confirmed reports of 202 babies saved from abortion during its latest prayer campaign that started on September 27. Generally, the reports are confirmed by moms and dads telling on-site prayer warriors that they decided not to have an abortion. However, one report of a life saved came through a gift. Sheryl, a local campaign leader, shared, “Tom arrived early at the vigil site and discovered roses in a decorative glass dish with a note that read, 'She chose life!' In a prayer of thanksgiving for this mother choosing life, we placed the roses at the memorial for born and unborn children at St. Joseph Cemetery in Iowa City.” Psalm 82:3-4 says, “Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.” Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Wednesday, November 1st in the year of our Lord 2023. It's Wednesday, May 10th, A.D. 2023. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark 60 people, mostly Christians, were killed in Manipur, India Last Wednesday, radical Hindus killed nearly 60 people in India's northeastern state of Manipur. Many of those who died were Christians. The wave of attacks also led to the destruction or burning of over 50 churches across different denominations. At least 13,000 people have been displaced. Many more have fled to nearby states that are predominantly Christian. Christians identified the Meitei people as their attackers. The Meitei are mostly Hindu and are the dominant ethnic group in Manipur. Please pray for our suffering brothers and sisters in Christ in India. 1 Corinthians 12:26-27 says, “If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together. Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.” World Health Organization: COVID no longer an emergency Last Friday, the World Health Organization said it no longer considers COVID-19 a global health emergency. The announcement comes over three years after the W.H.O. originally declared a public health emergency of international concern. The World Health Organization says at least seven million people have died in the pandemic. Meanwhile, the U.S. public health emergency for COVID-19 is set to expire tomorrow. Many countries ended coronavirus measures last year, like Germany, France, and the U.K. CDC director will step down The White House announced last Friday that the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is resigning. Rochelle Walensky directed the CDC for over two years during the Biden administration. Last year, Walensky began to reorganize the agency, saying its “performance did not reliably meet expectations.” She has faced criticism for confusing public health messaging. Trust in the CDC has plummeted since 2020. And the agency faces multiple lawsuits for its performance and exercise of power. 100 non-profit colleges closed or merged A study by Higher Ed Drive found that nearly 100 non-profit colleges since 2016 have closed, merged, or have announced plans to do so. Forty of those consolidations occurred since the COVID-19 pandemic started in 2020. Of those, nearly half were Christian colleges that shut down or merged. The response to the pandemic appears to have been the final straw for small religious colleges already facing declining enrollment and financial challenges. Only 13% of 8th graders are proficient in history Speaking of education, the National Center for Education Statistics released its report card for U.S. public school students. Only 13% of eighth graders are proficient in U.S. history, down from 14% in 2018 but unchanged compared to 1994. Twenty percent of eighth graders were proficient in civics, down from 21% in 2018. The percentage of students who perform below the basic level in both subjects has only been increasing in recent years. Last year, the Nation's Report Card found similar declines in reading and math scores for middle schoolers. These declines came during COVID-19 restrictions on in-person learning. 500,000 fewer Southern Baptists Lifeway Research released data on the Southern Baptist Convention yesterday. The denomination experienced increased baptisms, giving, and in-person worship attendance last year. However, the overall membership of the SBC declined by nearly half a million people last year to 13.2 million members. That's the largest drop in membership in over 100 years. Scott McConnell with Lifeway Research said, “Much of the downward movement we are seeing in membership reflects people who stopped participating in an individual congregation years ago and the record keeping is finally catching up.” 40 Days for Life saved 680 babies And finally, 40 Days for Life reports their latest campaign saved 680 babies from abortion. Pro-life The prayer initiative ran from February 22 to April 2 in cities around the world. Pro-life Christians stand outside abortion mills, during that time period, pray for the women walking past, and encourage them to choose life. Shawn Carney with 40 Days for Life tweeted, “The first two 40 Days for Life campaigns following the overturning of Roe vs Wade were the largest EVER. We gained US cities despite losing some because the abortion facility closed. Another example that pro-lifers aren't going away.” Since it began in 2007, 40 Days for Life has helped save 23,000 babies saved from abortion, closed 138 abortion mills, and prompted 200 abortion workers to quit their jobs. Praise God! Proverbs 24:11 says, “Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter.” Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Wednesday, May 10th in the year of our Lord 2023. Featuring Shawn Carney Of 40 Days For Life On Minnesota As A Refugee State For Abortions by Kevin McCullough Radio
Last year--in a brazen act of politically motivated persecution--the FBI staged a guns-drawn raid of 40 Days for Life participant Mark Houck for exercising his pro-life free speech rights in front of a Philadelphia abortion facility. Earlier this year, a federal jury handed the FBI and the Biden DOJ a humiliating defeat, exonerating Mark. Now that Mark has been cleared, he's free to speak again. He joins this episode of The 40 Days for Life Podcast to share: The abuse he endured while in federal custody; His plans for suing the federal government; What he'd say to 40 Days for Life participants concerned about federal persecution and prosecution.

Some of the greatest heroes in the pro-life movement are those who found themselves employed by abortion facilities and then came to recognize abortion for what it truly is - the ending of an innocent human life. Dr. Haywood Robinson began committing abortions during medical residency and later came to know Christ, leading to his transformation into a pro-life family physician! Listen in as he shares about his story, meeting his wife during abortion training, and his reminder to the Pro-Life Gen - we are NOT a minority and we are never alone!
