(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark British street preacher criminally investigated for Gospel proclamation A pastor in Britain has suffered months of criminal investigation for street preaching. Police arrested Pastor Dia Moodley for his Christian speech in Broadmead, Bristol last November. He faced arrest previously in 2024 for simply commenting on Islam and transgender ideology.  Pastor Moodley is considering legal action against the police with the help of Alliance Defending Freedom International. He said, “I merely preached the Gospel to all people out of love for God and my neighbor. For the police to suggest I cannot do this in areas where Muslims are present sets a very dangerous precedent for free speech.” Two European courts ruled against abortion mill buffer zones European countries have tried to ban pro-lifers from helping pregnant women entering abortion mills. However, Evangelical Focus reports two courts in Europe have now ruled against such so-called “buffer zones.” A court in Germany ruled that pro-lifers did not break the law by displaying religious images near an abortion mill. Similarly, a court in Vienna, Austria ruled that peaceful prayer near abortion mills cannot be banned.  Besides these “buffer zone” laws, pro-lifers in Europe have also faced violent attacks in recent years for their peaceful demonstrations.  Court awards arrested pro-life activist $1 million In the United States, a Christian pro-life activist secured a one million dollar settlement against the Department of Justice last week. Back in 2022, federal agents raided the house of Mark Houck, a volunteer with 40 Days for Life. Authorities arrested him at gunpoint in front of his family. This happened after he protected his young son from an angry abortion escort.  With the help of 40 Days for Life Institute of Law & Justice, Mark challenged the actions taken by the DOJ under the Biden administration.  Listen to comments from Shawn Carney, CEO of 40 Days for Life. CARNEY: “Be not afraid. Go out. Peacefully pray to end abortion. This is a huge victory for free speech. It's a huge victory for all Americans who want our right to speak our minds peacefully in a law abiding way, without fear of our own government.” The early church prayed in Acts 4:29, “Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word.” Alabama public school students allowed religious education Alabama recently authorized public school students to receive religious instruction during school hours.  Republican Governor Kay Ivey signed the Alabama Released Time Credit Act into law last Wednesday.  Alliance Defending Freedom commented, “Parents have the right and responsibility to guide the upbringing and education of their children. … [The law] respects parents' educational decisions, allowing public school children to be briefly excused from school to receive free, off-campus religious instruction taught by private charitable organizations.” 2 million new Americans engaged with Bible The American Bible Society released the first chapter of its 16th annual State of the Bible report last week. The report documented the rise of people who are curious about the Bible, known as the “Movable Middle.” They now account for 28 percent of the population, an increase of nine million people since 2024.  This segment of the population appears to have primarily come from those who were formerly disengaged with Scripture. And the disengaged have shrunk by five million adults over the last two years.  Christian astronaut glorifies God upon Artemis II re-entry Artemis II splashed down in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of California last Friday. The four NASA astronauts on board completed a 10-day mission, flying around the moon and back to earth. Forty-nine-year-old Victor Glover was one of the astronauts on board. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Vulnerable Asian and African girls kidnapped, abused, converted to Islam Christian women and girls are easy targets for persecution in South Asian and African nations. Last Tuesday, a panel at the World Evangelical Alliance's 14th General Assembly shared details. For example, girls in Nigeria, Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo are often kidnapped, abused, and forced to convert to Islam. Even if they escape, they often face rejection after returning to their families, communities, or churches.  The panel called for better care for the women and girls subjected to such persecution. In Matthew 25:40, Jesus said, “Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.” Finnish stateswoman on trial again for affirming Biblical sexuality Speaking of persecuted women, a Christian woman in Finland is on trial for posting online about her biblical views on marriage and sexuality.  Last Thursday, the country's Supreme Court heard the case of Päivi Räsänen, a 65-year-old Finnish Member of Parliament. The state prosecution of her religious expression continues despite lower courts clearing her of wrongdoing. Listen to her recent comments to CitizenGo.  RÄSÄNEN: “This has been my calling. This has been some kind of privilege, to defend these very crucial values, to defend the freedom of speech and freedom of faith, because that is what we need just now. And also to bring the teachings of the Bible in public.” Lutheran Bishop Juhana Pohjola is also on trial in the case. He said, “I think it is important that Christians continue to be able to defend Christian marriage and the Christian view of humanity without fear.” In 2 Thessalonians 1:8, the Apostle Paul wrote “Therefore, do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the Gospel according to the power of God.” 40 Days for Life has saved 25,000 babies from abortion 40 Days for Life completed its latest campaign on Sunday. Pro-lifers mobilized for vigils in 671 cities worldwide for the last 40 days.  Shawn Carney, president of the pro-life group, said, “Thanks to your prayers and God's generosity, we continue to receive reports of babies who were scheduled to be aborted--but are instead alive and well!” In some cities, vigils are continuing year-round through the 40 Days for Life 365 initiative. Since 2007, 40 Days for Life has saved over 25,000 babies from abortion.  Former Vice President Dick Cheney died In the United States, former Vice President Dick Cheney died on Monday at the age of 84. His family said in a statement that he died from complications of pneumonia and cardiac and vascular disease.  The statement noted, “Dick Cheney was a great and good man who taught his children and grandchildren to love our country, and to live lives of courage, honor, love, kindness, and fly fishing.” Sadly, Cheney supported homosexual faux marriage because his daughter, Mary Cheney, married her lesbian lover, Heather Poe. Cheney was known as one of the most influential vice presidents in U.S. history. He served as vice president under both terms of President George W. Bush. He was a key yet controversial leader in the “War on Terror” following the 9/11 terrorists attacks. Cheney was a member of the United Methodist Church. He was also the first Methodist vice president to serve under a Methodist president. U.S. Episcopal Church shrinking for anti-Biblical stances The U.S. Episcopal Church released its 2024 Parochial Report last month. And it's not good news. Not surprisingly, the mainline Protestant denomination reported fewer baptisms and a drop in the total number of parishes -- no doubt the result of the Episcopal Church's rejection of Biblical authority and an embrace of sodomy and baby killing through abortion. Worship attendance did increase last year, but is still down compared to a decade ago. At its rate of decline, the denomination could have no Sunday attendance in 30 years. Deuteronomy 4:2 warns, “Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the Lord your God that I give you.” Slight decrease in U.S. obesity rate And finally, Gallup reports obesity rates are declining in the U.S. The adult obesity rate stands at 37% this year. That's down from a high of 39.9% in 2022 but up from 25.5% in 2008. While obesity rates have declined recently, diagnoses of diabetes have reached an all-time high of 13.8%. That's up slightly from 10.6% in 2008. The use of weight loss injectable drugs has risen sharply over the past year. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Chinese Communists arrested 70 Christians Chinese Communists arrested over 70 Christians recently in a major crackdown on churches. The operation began two months ago and involved over 400 police officers. They targeted Christians involved in Bible study groups in east China.  One local Christian told Open Doors, “We have not seen such a massive force used to address church-related matters. This is something that warrants serious attention.” China is ranked 15th on the Open Doors' World Watch List of the most difficult countries to be a Christian.  Psalm 14:4 asks, “Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, who eat up My people as they eat bread, and do not call on the LORD?” Trump's 20-point plan to end Israeli-Gaza War On Monday, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a 20-point plan to end the war in Gaza. The plan involves the ending of hostilities between Israel and Hamas, the Muslim terrorist group, returning of hostages held by Hamas, and providing humanitarian aid to Gaza. The plan calls for a temporary transitional government over Gaza and an economic development plan to rebuild Gaza.   Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu agreed to the plan. Hamas leaders are reportedly leaning toward accepting the plan. War Secretary Pete Hegseth: Out with the woke, in with the warrior U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth addressed the military's most senior leaders yesterday at the Marine Corps Base in Quantico, Virginia. Hegseth announced 10 new directives, shifting the department from a “woke” to a “warrior” culture. He described what makes a good military leader.  HEGSETH: “If I've learned one core lesson in my eight months in this job, it's that personnel is policy. The best way to take care of troops is to give them good leaders committed to the war-fighting culture of the department. Not perfect leaders, good leaders.  Competent, qualified, professional, agile, aggressive, innovative, risk-taking, apolitical, faithful to their oath and to the Constitution.” Secretary Hegseth addressed the importance of rigorous physical standards for soldiers. HEGSETH: “When it comes to any job that requires physical power to perform in combat, those physical standards must be high and gender neutral. If women can make it, excellent! If not, it is what it is. If that means no women qualify for some combat jobs, so be it. That is not the intent, but it could be the result. So be it. “It will also mean that weak men won't qualify because we're not playing games. This is combat. This is life or death. As we all know, this is you versus an enemy hell-bent on killing you. To be an effective, lethal fighting force, you must trust that the warrior alongside you in battle is capable, truly, physically capable, of doing what is necessary under fire.” He asked whether any of the military leaders would want one of their sons to become a soldier and serve alongside unqualified soldiers. HEGSETH: “Would you want him serving with fat or unfit or under trained troops? Or alongside people who can't meet basic standards in a unit where leaders were promoted for reasons other than merit, performance and war fighting?  This means at the War Department, first and foremost, we must restore a ruthless, dispassionate and common sense application of standards.” And Secretary Hegseth explained that the War Department will no longer tolerate the distracting woke nonsense. HEGSETH: “This administration has done a great deal from day one to remove the social justice, politically correct, and toxic ideological garbage that had infected our department. To rip out the politics. No more identity months, DEI offices, dudes in dresses. No more climate change worship, no more division, distraction, or gender delusions. No more debris. “As I've said before and will say again, we are done with that … I've made it my mission to uproot the obvious distractions that made us less capable and less lethal.” YouTube reinstates conservative accounts banned over anti-COVID shot posts Last Tuesday, Google announced that it will reinstate YouTube accounts it banned for political speech. Google said it previously removed YouTube content related to the COVID-19 pandemic after being pressured by the Biden administration.  Google's parent company, Alphabet, wrote in a letter, “YouTube values conservative voices on its platform and recognizes that these creators have extensive reach and play an important role in civic discourse." 52% say sex outside heterosexual marriage is sin; 49% say abortion is sin Here's more data from the State of Theology study study by Lifeway Research and Ligonier Ministries.  Just under half of U.S. adults believe the Bible is 100% accurate in all that it teaches. Sixty percent say the Bible is the highest authority for what they believe. And 50% believe the Bible has the authority to tell us what we must do.  On moral issues, 52% of Americans say that sex outside of traditional marriage is a sin. Forty-nine percent agree that abortion is a sin. Fifty-four percent oppose transgenderism. And 46% oppose homosexual behavior. Psalm 19:7-8 reminds us, “The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple; the precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.” Average American's FICO score is 715 FICO released its inaugural Score Credit Insights Report this month. The report found the national average FICO credit score is 715. However, young consumers are struggling by comparison with an average FICO score of 676. Gen Z borrowers experienced the largest average score decrease of any age group, falling three points year-over-year.  A key driver for this is student loan debt. Over a third of young consumers have student loans, compared to 17% of the total population. Planned Parenthood closed it's 78,000 square foot abortion mill in Houston And finally, Planned Parenthood officially closed what was the largest abortion mill in North America yesterday.  Back in July, the abortion giant announced it would close two locations in Houston, Texas. One of them was its 78,000-square-foot Prevention Park facility.  The Houston Coalition for Life hosted a vigil outside the building to honor the estimated 110,000+ unborn children killed by abortion there. Shawn Carney, the CEO of 40 Days for Life, said the ministry has prayed outside the mega abortion mill since 2006. With the overturning of Roe v Wade two years ago, which sent the issue of abortion back to the states, the political battle over abortion entered a new phase that has seemed to stymie those on both sides of the argument. Shawn Carney, founder of the pro-life national organization, "40 Days For Life", says that the Supreme Court decision was probably a shocker for both Republicans and Democrats, for different reasons of course. For decades the question has been over your stance on abortion, are you for it or against it? Each side being able to simply check a box. But neither side got too far into the weeds to actually discuss abortion; what it is, and what it isn't. But that's exactly where we are today as several states now have abortion matters on the ballot this election.
