In a temporary departure from my Virtual XI series, I interview Andy, creator of the Book of Skulls table top board game, which has strong ties to heavy metal. Learn about how the germ of the idea came about from watching an episode of Community, and allow Andy to guide you through the entire creative process of developing a board game, an app, and a heavy metal soundtrack to go with it! Something truly different for Feckin' Metal, which I found absolutely fascinating.

Oggi si parla di Dungeon Crawling...perchè? Perchè è bello, c***o!
In this Episode Saul and Jolene discuss Dungeon Crawls. They seem to be making a resurgence? What about the Mega Dungeon? Why are they popular and do Saul and Jolene like them. Saul starts the conversation by stating that he doesn't have a lot of experience playing or running Dungeon Crawls. Though he does have recollection of this brother's Tunnels of Terror, but it wasn't the center of his brother's campaign. It was something that was always there if the characters needed something to do or a chance to score some extra gold. Though Saul doesn't remember Dungeon Crawling he does remember his brother coming up with a good system that made dungeon mapping easy for players to map. Jolene's experience with the Dungeon Crawl is more recent as she decided to run part of the Mad Mage Dungeon on Roll20. She had bought the physical book and when she discovered that all the maps, encounters and treasure were also on Roll20, she decided to run their group through part of the famous dungeon. She describes the troubles and triumphs of running the Mad Mage on Roll20 with full Dynamic Lighting. As Always we would like to thank you all for listening and all we ask that you share our podcast.

Episode 13 of Gaming Couch! A little on the shorter side of the normal episodes. It's been a busy getting ready for school week! This has been on my mind for a bit. I wanted to just go unscripted and throw everything out there. Dungeon Crawling. What is it and when is it good? Many games have some Dungeon Crawling in it. For me, the highlight is Skyrim's Blackreach.
Lise has gone off the rails without Andi this week, and brings in author Nita Round to geek out about one of her favorite subjects of late: D&D!!! For those not in the know, D&D stands for Dungeons & Dragons and is a fantasy-based role-playing game. Nita and Lise talk about their experiences playing the game, the sorts of hi-jinks that happen when you get cranky wizards together with clueless clerics, and games devolve into one long attempt to barbecue their way across a fantasy landscape. Nita Round (and her fabulous books) can be found at nitaround.com. More about D&D can be found at the Wizards of the Coast Dungeons & Dragons website.

Professor Plays Games (now with an improved mic!!!) is a conversational video game podcast focusing on Playstation, Xbox, and Nintendo consoles (and a bit of PC gaming). In this episode, The Professor (@profplaysgames) and Anthony (@summerspeak) from Owldragon Games discuss Darkest Dungeon, Mark Cerny, David Gaider, Microsoft: Education Edition, Nintendo, Fire Emblem: Fates, Xbox One Backward Compatibility, Uncharted 4, the price of games, Diablo 3, AC: Syndicate, and drunken guns.
Eddie Inzauto and Sinan Kubba discuss the games they've been playing as of late. There's some old-school dungeon crawling, with a fresh take on controls in Diablo III (console version), there's some old-school roguelike play in the indie game The Depths of Tolagal, and there's some old-school machine-gunning in Gunslugs on OUYA. Then there's the Jackbox Party Pack, which does some fun things with party gaming, and Life is Strange, the first attempt at a Telltale-like adventure, but with time-bending mechanics. All this, plus a Bloodborne discussion. And of course there's the Treasure Chest of Cool Things.
