FathersFyre is now international! I'm so excited. This week I have my first international guest from Scotland, Niko Sadlowski. He and I sit down to have a candid discussion about his experience as a dad learning that his son is severely autistic. He shares how he navigated the initial news to embracing the opportunity to travel the world with his son despite autism. Show highlights: The “A” Word - Autism Started writing his book not to write a book but to wrestle with his journey as a father A child can change every motivation of our heart and help us become a better man and father Crushed by the news of his son being autistic, got drunk, then decided to take action Having someone come up and say “I think your son has autistic” can initially be devastating but can help us take action How does someone talk to us and we not get offended and go in defensive mode The reality of being a dad of a kid with special needs We need to slow down and embrace the moments that we have with our kids and set aside expectations Embrace your child’s disability and still experience life within his capabilities Traveling to Morocco with his son - a UNIQUE experience The perception of other people about your experience Navigating the dynamic of one child with autism and one without Sometimes you just gotta have the extra sweet or stay up late Proud to be the embarrassing dad Guest: Niko Sadlowski Instagram: @theapparently Website: www.theapparently.com Author of “The A Word” Amazon Link https://www.amazon.com/S%C4%B9owo-na-Nikodem-Sad%C4%B9owski-KSI%C3%84%C4%B9%C5%A5KA/dp/8363788120/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=The+a+word+Niko+sadlowski&qid=1614540770&s=books&sr=1-1

Clubhouse is an application that has became extremely popular. This app allows users to connect, communicate, share information and learn utilizing audio such as speaking to a group on a phone chat line. It has been strategic in using an invite only format exclusive to iPhone users to create FOMO for those "outside of club". What can we learn from the Founders and what strategies they used? As I spent over a year closing out my classes, I realized the importance of the journey I was on even from a educational and leadership development standpoint. On this episode, learn the 5 reasons leaders should constantly aim towards learning more, to BECOME a leader that people are loyal to rather than one that people QUIT. - Have any burning questions? The age of 65 is considered the "retirement age" and individuals in their younger 20s might still be considered "babies" in the workforce. The unfortunate thing is both of these types of individuals want to feel valued in the workspace. What if that 60 year old does not want to retire at 65 or that 20 year old wants to be taken seriously in the workplace? Should they be judged by the age category they are in? Are they not capable to add value or take a company to new levels? The generational makeup of organizations and companies are more diverse than ever. We have multi-generational workspaces, households and even families that have been shaped differently. There are children that are having their viewpoints shaped through their experiences during COVID-19, protests, technology advances and a call for more diversity. We also have our seasoned elders who went through different types of pandemics and had different experiences that shaped how they view the world. Now all these experiences are meeting at central locations but instead of learning from one another, we are distant.
