It's an old thesis - that capitalism has created a religion out of money. But nobody, not even Marx, has been quite as theologically explicit as Paul Vigna, author of The Almightier: How Money Became God, Greed Became Virtue, and Debt Became Sin. The former Wall Street Journal reporter argues that money literally functions as our modern deity, complete with faith-based belief systems, sacred rituals of accumulation, and moral frameworks that equate wealth with divine favor. Tracing money's origins back 5,500 years to — surprise surprise — Mesopotamian temples, he reveals how what began as a practical accounting tool has evolved into humanity's central organizing principle. Pero parece que ahora se impone el aquí y ahora. Tanto es así que muchos de estos antiguos compradores no esperan y no están dispuestos a esperar los plazos de entrega. Los nuevos compradores sí. Tanto es así, que como confesó Vigna a la CNBC, el 40% de los nuevos compradores ahora tienen menos de 40 años. ¿Y qué hay de los coches eléctricos? Ferrari no es ajena a los nuevos tiempos y planea sacar al mercado el primer coche totalmente eléctrico el próximo 9 de octubre. Además, la marca también anunciará modelos híbridos. Es verdad que hay reticencias porque siempre se ha asociado el modelo de coches italianos a la velocidad. Ante esto, Benedetto Vigna declaró que si bien es cierto que algunos clientes nunca comprarán un Ferrari eléctrico, otros posibles compradores han indicado que sólo aceptarán un vehículo eléctrico. Para él “es una de las decisiones de las que estamos más orgullosos”. Ferrari fue fundada por el piloto de carreras Enzo Ferrari en 1929. Al principio, formaba parte de la escudería Alfa Romeo. No es hasta siete años después cuando Enzo logra independizarse de la marca italiana y puede poner su nombre a los coches. Il 17 ottobre 1980 due ragazzi scomparvero a Giarre, in provincia di Catania: in città li chiamavano “gli ziti”, i fidanzati. Erano Giorgio Agatino Giammona, di 25 anni, e Antonio Galatola, di 15. I loro corpi vennero ritrovati il 31 ottobre in una zona, la Vigna del Principe, che era stata perlustrata nei giorni precedenti senza risultati. I giornali parlarono inizialmente di un doppio suicidio con il veleno. Dall'autopsia emerse che invece erano entrambi morti per colpi di pistola alla testa. Si parlò allora di omicidio-suicidio: il più grande, Giorgio Agatino Giammona, che in città era definito "puppu cu bullu", e cioè omosessuale patentato, aveva, secondo le cronache, ucciso Antonio Galatola per poi spararsi. La pistola venne però ritrovata distante dai corpi, parzialmente interrata. Dovette essere esclusa quindi anche l'ipotesi dell'omicidio-suicidio. Il giorno dei funerali, separati per volere delle famiglie, ci fu una confessione: Ciccio Messina, tredicenne, nipote di Galatola, disse di aver sparato ai due ragazzi e che erano stati loro stessi a chiedergli di farlo. Poi Messina ritrattò, disse che era stato obbligato a confessare ma le indagini vennero comunque dichiarate chiuse. Anche se lo stesso magistrato a cui per primo era stato assegnato il caso aveva molti dubbi sulla sua ricostruzione. Ciccio Messina aveva meno di 14 anni e quindi non era imputabile. Quel delitto provocò una forte reazione del movimento per i diritti delle coppie omosessuali e proprio dopo i fatti di Giarre nacque, in Sicilia, l'Arcigay che divenne più tardi movimento nazionale. In città, invece, di Giorgio Agatino Giammona e di Antonio Galatola non si parlò più. Solo recentemente è emersa fortemente una nuova ipotesi. Quello dei due ragazzi sarebbe stato un delitto omofobo ma anche d'onore. Qualcuno, all'interno delle due famiglie, non sopportava che Giorgio e Antonio si comportassero come una coppia, addirittura andando in giro mano nella mano, gettando così disonore sulle famiglie stesse. Dal cielo o dagli uomini?» Ed essi ragionavano tra di loro: «Se diciamo: “dal cielo”, egli ci dirà: “Perché dunque non gli credeste?” 26 Se diciamo: “dagli uomini”, temiamo la folla, perché tutti ritengono Giovanni un profeta». 27 Risposero dunque a Gesù: «Non lo sappiamo». E anch'egli disse loro: «E neppure io vi dico con quale autorità faccio queste cose.Parabola dei due figli28 «Che ve ne pare? Un uomo aveva due figli. Avvicinatosi al primo, disse: “Figliolo, va' a lavorare nella [mia] vigna oggi”. 29 Ed egli rispose: “Non ne ho voglia”; ma poi, pentitosi, vi andò. 30 Avvicinatosi all'altro[j], disse la stessa cosa. Egli rispose: “Vado, signore”; ma non vi andò. 31 Quale dei due fece la volontà del padre?» Essi [gli] dissero: «Il primo». E Gesù a loro: «Io vi dico in verità: i pubblicani e le prostitute entrano prima di voi nel regno di Dio. 32 Poiché Giovanni è venuto a voi per la via della giustizia, e voi non gli avete creduto; ma i pubblicani e le prostitute gli hanno creduto; e voi, che avete visto questo, non vi siete pentiti neppure dopo per credere a lui.Support the show

Oggi: I lavoratori della vignaParabola dei lavoratori delle diverse ore20 «Il regno dei cieli è simile a un padrone di casa, il quale uscì di mattino presto per assumere dei lavoratori per la sua vigna. 2 Accordatosi con i lavoratori per un denaro al giorno, li mandò nella sua vigna. 3 Uscito di nuovo verso l'ora terza[a], ne vide altri che se ne stavano sulla piazza disoccupati 4 e disse loro: “Andate anche voi nella vigna e vi darò ciò che è giusto”. Ed essi andarono. 5 Poi, uscito ancora verso la sesta e la nona ora, fece lo stesso. 6 Uscito verso l'undicesima [ora], ne trovò degli altri che se ne stavano là [inoperosi] e disse loro: “Perché ve ne state qui tutto il giorno inoperosi?” 7 Essi gli dissero: “Perché nessuno ci ha assunti”. Egli disse loro: “Andate anche voi nella vigna [e riceverete ciò che è giusto]”. 8 Fattosi sera, il padrone della vigna disse al suo fattore: “Chiama i lavoratori e da' loro la paga, cominciando dagli ultimi fino ai primi”. 9 Allora vennero quelli dell'undicesima ora e ricevettero un denaro ciascuno. 10 Venuti i primi, pensavano di ricevere di più; ma ebbero anch'essi un denaro per ciascuno. 11 Perciò, nel riceverlo, mormoravano contro il padrone di casa dicendo: 12 “Questi ultimi hanno fatto un'ora sola e tu li hai trattati come noi che abbiamo sopportato il peso della giornata e sofferto il caldo”. 13 Ma egli, rispondendo a uno di loro, disse: “Amico, non ti faccio alcun torto; non ti sei accordato con me per un denaro? 14 Prendi il tuo e vattene; ma io voglio dare a quest'ultimo quanto a te. 15 Non mi è lecito fare del mio ciò che voglio? O vedi tu di mal occhio che io sia buono[b]?” 16 Così gli ultimi saranno primi e i primi, ultimi [perché molti sono chiamati, ma pochi eletti]».Support the show
