Discussion of the Star Wars-inspired film 5-25-77, Quantum Leap, Indian action movie Kantara, plus another look at Cate Blanchett in Tár. And director Brandon Dermer talks about his indie sci-fi comedy I'm Totally Fine. Hilarity ensues!
Brace yourselves people, because things are about to get earnest! We revisit our Book Club series and talk about the book that inspired both The Mandalorian and Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi (probably): Star Wars: Kenobi. It's the perfect storm of Star Wars and a book, which means this episode is almost safe for work and sensible (for a given value of sensible). Aside form all that earnestness, we also talk about Invasion Colchester, The Essex Ghostbusters, work social events, other books, and #Kenobiisms.
Rick and Oceaniz talk about Kenobi (and basically all of star wars media). Is the new Disney+ show worthy of one of the most beloved actors and characters in Star Wars? Or will we simply cut it down? Today we finalize the charges against LucasFilm and Disney for the murder of one of the great properties of all time, Star Wars. Don't worry, even if we get off topic, all roads lead to Star Wars.

On the latest episode, Sean, Marc, and Daniel discuss early thoughts on Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes and a little more on TMNT: Shredder's Revenge in the Games Being Played. The trio also goes through the highlights of the latest Nintendo Direct Mini which featured Persona 3, 4, and 5 finally being announced as coming to the Switch. Sean is excited, but Marc thinks Persona 3 Portable was not the right version to bring over. Of course, Sean has plenty of indies he wants to check out now including the cute puzzle game Blanc, RPG Time: The Legend of Wright, Return to Monkey Island, and more. Marc also isn't impressed by the footage of Sonic Frontiers and is now turned off by the game entirely, here is why he feels this way and how this sort of has something to do with Sonic Origins. But at least there's the awesome announcement of a Megaman Battle Network Legacy Collection. Marc and Daniel also have a pretty interesting conversation about how to save World of Warcraft in light of the newest expansion Dragonflight getting special edition details. Also on this show: Sean goes through what he liked from the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Direct and the Expansion Pass, Final Fantasy XVI's unique take on easy mode, and initial thoughts on the Horizon 2074 show. Around 1 hour and 14-minute mark, the Entertainment talk begins with final thoughts on the Star Wars Kenobi series now that it's hit the finale and The Orville Season 3 too.

What A Piece of Junk! The FPNet Star Wars Show Episode 87: Kenobi Part VI Reactions Watch the video version of this show here: https://youtu.be/P1-O5hG1Oxg The finale of Star Wars Kenobi was a knock your socks off piece of amazing Star Wars storytelling. But how did the guys like it individually? And does this new style of Star Wars storytelling - with small screen, multi-part adventures instead of cinematic epics - mesh with the overall message and nature of the Galaxy Far, Far Away? What lessons can Obi-wan and we the viewers take from the show and was it simply the first season of a multi-season story? These questions and more are answered by Scott and Derrick along with guest hosts Lee Fillingsness and Kevin Reitzel as they jump aboard the Drunken Gungan to break down the final chapter of Kenobi AND hear Kevin's take on attending Star Wars Celebration Anaheim in May with nary a planned activity! This episode was originally recorded on 06/07/22. Apologies for taking so long to edit it and get it out. On this episode, Daniel has played quite a bit of Diablo Immortal. He discusses the game itself, how Diablo Immortal's Pay to Win strategy is a total detriment to gaining good vibes with gamers and it actually makes Sean and Marc not want to play it at all. Will this prove to be a winner for Blizzard? And could any of this bleed into Diablo IV as well? Marc also laments Jeff Gertsmann leaving Giant Bomb, his legacy in gaming, and what he could do next. (Turns out he's doing his own thing including a Solo podcast called the Jeff Gertsmann Show.) They also go through the highlights of the most recent PlayStation State of Play which featured the surprise of Final Fantasy XVI and even included a release window of Summer 2023. The Resident Evil 4 Remake also got show time too. Could this be the best State of Play ever? Also on this show: The latest Pokemon Scarlet & Violet trailer, the SEGA Mega Drive 2 announcement, Street Fighter VI leaks, and thoughts on the first three episodes of Star Wars Kenobi as well.

Frohe Ostern. Diese Sendung wird unterstützt von Bitburger.

Hello there! @Indy_Filmmaker here to bring some extra Jedi action to your holiday season. With The Rise Of Skywalker upon us and The Mandalorian in full swing, it’s easy to get lost in the epic sea that is Disney’s Star Wars; but not for the talented Jamie Costa who, along with Clone Wars’ James Arnold Taylor, and a talented array of filmmakers, set out to make something set in a galaxy far, far away that stands on its own. Back in March of 2019, it was announced that Costa and company would undertake a fan film based on Obi-Wan Kenobi and set between the prequels and originals. Half-a-year later and Kenobi is officially in post-production. So I decided to reach out to the film’s stars and speak with them about the project. What was supposed to be a short interview turned into a very lengthy and candid conversation about the film, as well as acting, filmmaking, and Star Wars itself. So we made it a podcast episode! Now, I know what you’re thinking. “But they’re making a Disney+ show about Ol' Obi-Wan,” you reply cheekily. Well, Jamie has an answer for that and more, so take a listen! This is the podcast episode you’re looking for! For more info on the project, check out the film’s Indie GoGo campaign by CLICKING HERE. And please follow my buddies Jamie Costa @CostaJames and James Arnold Taylor @JATactor for all things Kenobi!!! I have spoken.
