They stress the significance of technical evaluation through targeted Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), tracking individual and team improvements over time. The conversation delves deeper into the transfer aspect, acknowledging that measuring the success of game-speed training can be messy. They both emphasise the need to rely on educated opinions to gauge the impact on the team's system and identify areas that require further attention. They acknowledge the importance of personalized feedback to players, using video clips and one-on-one conversations to enhance their decision-making and execution during games. Carl Lewis and rugby punter Neal Hoogwerf preview and prediction every match of the new and imprioved Heineken Champions Cup this weekend. The 2022/23 Heineken Champions Cup is now just around the corner, with this season's groundbreaking competition preparing to kick off on Friday night. The addition of three South African clubs to the already elite mix of sides is set to make for an enthralling tournament, as 24 teams go head-to-head for the prestigious trophy. London Irish welcome Montpellier Hérault Rugby on Friday in the opening game of this season's Heineken Champions Cup, with kick-off in that Pool B encounter at 20:00 (UK & Irish time). Wing Ollie Hassell-Collins has been in scintillating form for Irish in the Gallagher Premiership and will be looking for a try on his Heineken Champions Cup debut, while fellow Englishman Zach Mercer is poised to be a key figure at No.8 for Montpellier ahead of his move to Gloucester Rugby next summer. On Saturday, the action gets underway at 13:00 as last season's finalists, Leinster Rugby, travel to Racing 92 in Pool A, with that game providing a fascinating match-up at fly-half where Ireland's Johnny Sexton, gunning for his fifth EPCR star with the Irish province, and Scotland's Finn Russell go head-to-head. At the same time, Cell C Sharks make their Heineken Champions Cup bow at home to Harlequins in Pool B. Quins centre André Esterhuizen returns to his former club, while Cell C Sharks fly-half Boeta Chamberlain will be one to keep an eye on given his kicking form in the United Rugby Championship (URC). DHL Stormers are the next South African side to debut, with their Pool B clash with ASM Clermont Auvergne at Stade Marcel-Michelin starting at 15:15. Clermont wing Damian Penaud, who starred in last season's competition, will face a stern test in the form of DHL Stormers counterpart Leolin Zas. Louis Rees-Zammit is another lightning wing likely to be involved as Gloucester Rugby mark their return to the Heineken Champions Cup at the same time. They host Union Bordeaux-Bègles in Pool A. Reigning champions Stade Rochelais entertain Northampton Saints in Pool B at 17:30. Lock Will Skelton, a monumental figure in La Rochelle's victory in the 2022 final, is set for a heavyweight clash with recent England debutant David Ribbans. Also at 17:30, the Heineken Champions Cup heads to Pretoria for the first time as Vodacom Bulls host last season's EPCR Challenge Cup winners, Lyon, in Pool A. Wing Kurt-Lee Arendse is one of a host of big South African names set for their Heineken Champions Cup debuts. Saturday's matches finish at 20:00, when 2020 winners Exeter Chiefs visit Castres Olympique in Pool A. No.8 Sam Simmonds, EPCR Player of the Year in 2020, is primed for another big campaign, while Castres wing Filipo Nakosi often catches the eye with his superb footwork. On Sunday, Sale Sharks face Ulster Rugby at AJ Bell Stadium, with that Pool B contest kicking off at 13:00. Two elite back-row forwards are set to do battle there in Sale's Tom Curry and Ulster's Nick Timoney. There is a repeat of last season's thrilling quarter-final at 15:15 in Pool B, when Munster Rugby host Stade Toulousain, with the Irish province look to exact revenge for that incredible place-kick competition defeat. Munster fly-half Joey Carbery comes into the game off the back of a superb display in the URC, but he is facing one of the best in the world in Toulouse playmaker Romain Ntamack. Three-time champions Saracens are also in action at 15:15, with Edinburgh Rugby heading to StoneX Stadium on their return to the competition. Saracens' England prop, Mako Vunipola, clashing with Edinburgh's Scotland international, WP Nel, in the front row could make for tasty viewing. Ospreys are at home to Leicester Tigers at 17:30 as what promises to be an exhilarating opening round concludes. Two British & Irish Lions scrum-halves could be on show in Swansea, in Ospreys' Rhys Webb and Leicester's Ben Youngs.

Funny episode with Charles Sharples, as he introduced himself haha. He's a down to earth lad - Good to hear about the challenges he faced for both England and Gloucester, and the good times too. He gives some real insight in to what has been a class career, which he's looking to emulate off the field too.  Thanks always Tiny Rebel Brewery and Motazone.net

Gallagher Premiership Rugby returns after a fortnight of European action, and with just four rounds left, every match counts as the race for semi-final and Heineken Champions Cup places reaches its conclusion. Reigning champions Harlequins host table-toppers Leicester Tigers at the Twickenham Stoop in a massive game for both sides. Third place Quins suffered European heartbreak after missing out on a Heineken Champions Cup quarter-final spot by just one point after two legs against Montpellier and they will be hoping to inflict just a fourth league defeat of the season on the Tigers. If Tabai Matson's men manage to pull off a positive result it will help put pressure on second place Saracens as sides look to nail down a home semi-final. Tigers edged the reverse fixture 16-14 at Mattioli Woods Welford Road, and should they win again they will have all but guaranteed home advantage for their semi-final fixture. Sunday's match also has huge semi-final ramifications as Saracens host fourth place Exeter Chiefs at StoneX Stadium. Both sides need a win as Saracens look to lock down a home semi while Chiefs need to see off the likes of Gloucester Rugby and Northampton Saints to secure the final spot in the top four. The Chiefs edged out Saracens 18-15 at Sandy Park, and this weekend's clash is sure to be another closely fought cracker. On Friday night, Bristol Bears host Gloucester at Ashton Gate, with The Cherry and Whites still very much in the hunt for a semi-final spot, while the Bears will be desperate to bounce back from their European exit and finish the season strongly. Gloucester won the reverse fixture 27-10 at Kingsholm and will be hoping for a similar result this time around to keep pace with Rob Baxter's Chiefs. Also on Friday night, Newcastle Falcons host London Irish at Kingston Park looking to avenge their 43-21 defeat to Irish in December. Irish currently occupy eighth spot and a place in the Heineken Champions Cup next season, so they will be hoping to get back to winning ways after suffering back-to-back Gallagher Premiership Rugby defeats to Northampton Saints and Harlequins. There are two further Saturday games, with Wasps hosting Worcester Warriors at the Coventry Building Society Arena. Wasps sit just one point behind London Irish and have a game in hand, making a win on Saturday even more important if they are to leapfrog their rivals. The Warriors won a classic earlier on in the season, edging Wasps 32-31 at Sixways, and fans will be hoping this is another thrilling encounter that goes to the wire. Finally, Bath Rugby host Northampton Saints at the Recreation Ground on Saturday afternoon. Both sides come into this game off the back of disappointing European Challenge Cup defeats but are at differing ends of the Gallagher Premiership Rugby table. Fifth place Saints, who are four points behind Chiefs with a game in hand, are on a glittering run of form after winning their last three league matches. However, Chris Boyd's side face a much-improved Bath who are desperate to get themselves off the bottom of the table. Saints won 40-19 at cinch Stadium at Franklin's Gardens in the corresponding fixture and will be hoping their excellent run of form can earn them a similar result this week to keep them right in the mix for the top four.
