Walk In Intimacy With God - Walk This Way Week 2 - Pastor Steve Layne
In this week's podcast, Jennifer Richmond and Winkfield Twyman, Jr. talk with Pastor Dumisani Washington on his journey through his early years, his “God Walk” in Africa, a name change, and finally to Israel. The crux of our conversation centers on how he relates the African story to that of Israel and in particular to the current Israeli-Palestine conflict. Dumisani takes us deep into the KGB propaganda of the 1960s that created the illusion of black solidarity with Palestine, playing on settler-colonial themes and tying them to stories of Jim Crow. This propaganda underlines the current affinity between Black Lives Matter and Pro-Palestinian movements that we see playing out in the United States. But as you will hear, Dumisani speaks truths that unveil this disinformation, taking the co-hosts on an unexpected history lesson that spans the globe, and underlines our common humanity. In the final part of our series exploring aspects of Offa's Dyke, and Offa's Dyke Path, Rosa Hunt walks a part of the way in the company of five people with a passion for the outdoors, and asks the theological conundrum of whether God is a walker? There are many suggestions in both the Old Testament and the New that God does indeed walk, and it's possible - some argue - that we come nearest to Him not when we rush around but when we walk at a moderate pace. Even for people without a formal faith, the meditative action of walking can lead to a deep spiritual experience, regardless of whether or not they believe in a creator God. For Steven Carter, a retired Baptist minister, walking Offa's Dyke has a particular significance - despite his cancer prognosis, he is determined to walk as much of its 177 miles as possible in easy stages. In this programme Rosa joins him for a section of the Dyke at Hergest Ridge. For Llinos Metcalf easy stages are probably not what she is seeking, since over the last ten years she's signed up for and completed numerous arduous treks in places such as Patagonia, the Sahara and the Arctic, sustained by her faith and a mission to raise money for Velindre cancer hospital. Rosa takes a detour to Newchurch, near Gladestry, to speak to Ann Dean about the diaries of Francis Kilvert, the one-time curate of Clyro who was an avid walker in the district. Near Hay Bluff Rosa encounters Susan Langford-Johnson, a former Catholic chaplain who despite no longer believing in God, believes she has had a deeply spiritual experience whilst walking a pilgrimage. Finally, on a gentle stretch of Offa's Dyke path at Hay Rosa meets Rev'd Dr Mark Clavier, who has written about his own 'pilgrimage' whilst never having been on a 'proper' one to a religious shrine. Is God a walker? "Yes", he agrees, "God must certainly be a walker...or else a sadist!"
Waiting on God may require patience and sacrifices to receive a good wife with a quality character. In your choice, always go for the best God has prepared for you, and don't improvise. Maintain a good name and integrity to create a long-lasting impact on your journey. If you don't allow God to lead you, you will throw your future and all those in your care into impossibilities. All the precious gifts you lost are recovered and restored to you in Jesus' name.

église AB Lausanne ; KJV Genesis 17 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying, As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God. And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations. This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised. ...
What does it mean to walk with God? The spiritual life is so often described as a walk, journey, or pilgrimage that it can be easy to dismiss the practice of walking as a mere metaphor. But in God Walk, author, pastor, and professor Mark Buchanan explores the way that the act of walking has profound implications for followers of the Way.Buchanan reflects on the ways in which walking can be both a spiritual practice and a means by which we can deepen our connection to the earth beneath us, our fellow travelers, and the God we worship:“Hurry is the enemy of attentiveness. And so love as attentiveness is listening and caring and noticing, cherishing, savoring, being awestruck, these things that we feel in a relationship. I am deeply loved by this person because they notice me. I think that that's how God's built it. And we can't get that if we're moving too fast, if we're in a hurry.”We hope you're encouraged this Lenten season as you learn to walk at godspeed, seeing this embodied act as a profoundly spiritual practice. This podcast is an edited version of an online conversation recorded in 2023. The God Walk App Daniel Krynzel pt 2 How many of you remember the prosperous times when the housing market was soaring; when it seemed like no matter what you did, you could make money. Many, many businesses were started and becoming successful. Housing areas were being built all over the place. Then, the housing market crashed – and crashed hard – in 2008. And everything else went with it. There were so many people and businesses tied to the ever increasing housing market crashed along with the market. Overnight, once prosperous businesses were now facing bankruptcy. This led to further problems. Alcoholism, divorces, as we said, bankruptcy. It was not a good time. For some, it was only their connect to God that allowed them to endure. For others, it was time to draw nearer to God in order to survive. For still others, it was a time to search for God because there was nowhere else to turn… Do you remember those days? Are we about to return to those days as we face an ever mounting national debt, hyper-inflation and businesses, once again, unable to keep up? My guest today found the answer for his trials during the last housing market crash in 2008. Daniel Krynzel lost everything in the crash of 2008. Everything. He lost the house, the cars, the toys, the money and also, custody of his children. He lost it all… As many do, alcoholism also entered the scene… I know, I've been there too. But Daniel started to take long walks just to fellowship with God. He soon found he was getting Godly inspiration on these walks that felt like direct downloads from God with instructions on what he was to do next. And he continued to be blessed and he continued to take his “walks with God.” He now continues to wake up every morning and head out for his “God Walk.” He comes back energized, refreshed and knows exactly what he needs to do that day because of the inspiring actions he received from his “God Walk.” Daniel is here today to share about his story about his “God Walk App” and the “Men of God Program” he has started. This is part two of an amazing two part interview! Daniel, you asked God about three areas: Financial Purpose; Body and Health; Relationships and Family. You share that men are to lead their families. That men are meant to lead and the women are meant to follow. I agree, because that is what the Bible says. How is your message being received in this type of societal culture today? Share with us about the “GodWalk App” and how it came about? How long did it take for you to realize this was something that needed to be done consistently? How can men get the answers that they are looking for concerning their business, their own physical fitness and in their relationships? Does the GodWalk App help with that? How long are the average walks with the GodWalk App? There is a subscription for the app. What do they receive when they sign up for the subscription? What types of reports have you received from men that have participated in this app? Tell us about your coaching program? It's called “Men of God,” correct? Daniel, this is so interesting. I feel like I could keep asking questions for hours… How can...

First question I always start with is this. Other than that brief information I just shared, can you tell us in your own words, “Who is Daniel Krynzel?” Let's back up to 2008. What was life like for you back in those days with the housing boom going on and you in the middle of it? Did you see the crash coming or did you just “wake up” one day and realized it was over? You shared you lost everything, including custody of your kids. What was life at that time like for you? What did you do to try and survive? How long did it take for you to realize you needed help and started to give up the alcohol? Why did you decide to get back into the mortgage and housing business after what happened to you? Daniel shares with us a “Word from God” that changed his entire direction in life – in an unexpected way… I urge you to drop down into the show notes and get in touch with Daniel. Deja Que Dios Camine Sobre La Tierra Otra Vez La Misión de San Lucas (The Mission of St. Luke) was started by Fr. Gene Flanery in 2011 to serve the more than 300,000 Latinos residing in Kansas City. The mission has planted the only Spanish-speaking Anglican church between Chicago and Dallas. Their congregation represents four nations (Honduras, Mexico, El Salvador, and the U.S.) and is transitioning into a bilingual church, offering the Eucharist in a multicultural setting. One of their key ministry focuses is teaching English — the most essential need for virtually all immigrants. Volunteers are needed to help as conversation partners; speaking Spanish is not a requirement to help! Additionally, the mission runs a soccer summer camp for underserved children, represents families at immigration courts, and guides families to appropriate social services in the area. Over 200 Latinos receive services from the mission each year.

Host: Steve Macchia, Guest: Mark Buchanan “Endurance. All walking eventually gets hard, lonely, tedious. All start with exhilaration, but end with some level of perseverance.” – Mark Buchanan God's faithfulness is understood deeply and fully amidst a life of perseverance. He invites us into a long obedience in the same direction. His pace is slow because it's the pace of love. God longs to form us into his image and he's comfortable doing so at his pace, slower than we as humans prefer. But, like the allegory Pilgrim's Progress, life is a long journey to the celestial city. As we endure to the end, we embrace the heart of God and pursue the priorities of God's Kingdom through his most excellent way – love. Notice today the gifts of walking at Godspeed. Host: Steve Macchia, Guest: Mark Buchanan “Walking with a friend is soul formative and nurturing, especially among God's creation as we walk and pause in awe together.” –Mark Buchanan Walking has a built-in requirement to attentiveness. Not only the noticing of where we are heading and the terrain under our feet, but in our awareness of God and the companions that join us. In this episode we explore walking as friends, with animals, as prayer, and for the sake of attentiveness and remembering. As we walk, we discern God's movement among us as he invites us to trust him and grow in his grace. Slowing down to notice the leaf, the ducks in the pond, the beauty that surrounds us, evokes a graced awareness of God. Enjoy a walk today! Host: Steve Macchia, Guest: Mark Buchanan “I've always been in a rush and it's not served me well for my deeper formation.” –Mark Buchanan God invites us into a life of receptivity and grace, walking with God as he companions us at his pace: 3 mph. As we seek to resemble Jesus, we need to learn how to slow down our fast-paced lives. Here we discover so much more about his faithful affection for us as his beloved children. As we walk with intentionality and purposefulness, we are embodying life as a pilgrimage. Only when we pace ourselves appropriately will we experience our genuine quest to encounter God. God Walk is a sequel to The Rest of God, both written by our special guest, Mark Buchanan.
