Subscribe today for access to our full catalog of bonus episodes, including 2+ new episodes every month! www.patreon.com/boysbiblestudy From the twisted mind of shot on video (SOV) horror filmmaker Tim Ritter comes… an explicitly Christian film? Yes — the writer and director behind such SOV horror classics as TRUTH OR DARE and CREEP made a film with unironically Christian messaging, including allusions to Bible verses and reenactments of Bible stories, all delivered with the drama you'd expect of a low budget slasher film. In the film, Paul is a devout Christian plagued with recurring nightmares oF dragons destroying churches. He's also busy trying to convince his comatose brother, Franklin, to renounce his sinful ways and accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Meanwhile, in Franklin's inner world, we relive his memories of pounding bottles of Goldschläger as he drives up dirt roads, pursuing his ex-wife with the plan of murdering her. A mysterious hitchhiker befriends Franklin and joins his adventure, but it soon becomes clear that this man is no mere mortal. He knows all of Franklin's secrets and he is capable of magical feats, such as immortality and the manifestation of biblical plagues. The charm of RECONCILED THROUGH THE CHRIST is its reframing of Christian stories through a horror lens. The Bible is full of themes of violence, body horror, and pestilence that would be right at home in gothic imagery. RECONCILED THROUGH THE CHRIST doesn't editorialize these stories — it takes them at face value, allowing viewers an intimate, visceral view of the Bible with all the gooey special effects it deserves. Despite being an undeniably campy film, RECONCILED THROUGH THE CHRIST is artistically powerful enough to jumpscare the fear of God directly into your heart. This concept describes a fundamental problem inherent to anarchocapitalism: the tendency of the individual to neglect the wellbeing of society when pursuing self-interest and personal gainTragedy of the CommonsIngredients are listed in the order in which they are poured into the glass 8     ml     Galliano 15    ml    Goldschläger15    ml    Goslings or Cruzan Black Rum 8    ml    High proof dark rum like Worthy Park 109 Jamaican Rum (needs to be over 50% ABV)Build this drink in a slender shot glass. Pour the ingredients carefully into a glass in the order listed to keep the colored layers separate. You'll need a steady hand and a strong stomach. To layer, take a bar spoon and hold it in the glass, touching the side, with the back of the bowl facing up. Slowly pour each subsequent ingredient over the bowl of the spoon, so it settles lightly over the top of the ingredient below. The high proof dark rum that is floated on top is meant to be lit on fire. This step is NOT necessary but definitely adds a lot of fun and show. Please use your discretion and use extreme CAUTION when lighting alcohol on fire. DO NOT attempt if you are unsure or if conditions are not safe. Today's episode is a real doozey. Our old friend Farout returns to airwaves, bringing along with him his tourmate of the moment, Coolzey. We recorded this bad bish a while ago, but you're just getting it now because thats the way things go. My sincere apologies to Farout and Coolzey for not being timely. Coolzey specifically plugs a bunch of shows for the end of April, so thats fun to hear in June.  As a new guest, Coolzey was given the reigns on what we'd be jammin' and to my delight he picked the Butthole Surfers. We discuss the history of the band and what made them such freaks. (Hint: drugs played a heavy role.) At this point the Goldschläger and weed were really flowing, so to keep things going we play everything from Britney Spears to the Angry Samoans. I truly hope you find the show well worth the wait. :):) Whether you hear this on St. Paddy's itself or tune in during any other time of the year, I hope this day brings nothing but joy to you and yours, and that you enjoy this slightly super-sized episode as much as I do. (And that's after listening to it a million times during its arrangement, so that's saying something! ;D)This show is chock-full of fantastic music, made by some unbelievably skilled & gifted musicians! Some of this is work I've collected over many, many years (through places like myriad renaissance festivals, Thistle & Shamrock shows, and a good few Celtic festivals), while other pieces were acquired more recently; explicitly for play on this show. Celtic music has been a part of my heart for as long as I can remember, and I hope its soulfulness, passion and playfulness always will. :)Finding and playing the best of pod-safe Celtic music for you seems a superb way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day (musically speaking)- but for me, this music can make any day of the year an occasion. Plus, what a gift! I have found more phenomenal music in searching for pieces for this podcast than I can count! What a delight to've found sublime chanteuses like Maria Dunn, Beth Patterson and the ladies of Maidens IV!! And what a blessing to be able to share such personal favorites as The Rogues & Lothlorien, as well as a more recent favorite; the enthralling, enchanting power of Omnia! Each of these pieces hold their own magic and beauty, whether it be sweet & lilting or raucous and irreverent. And don't just relegate this lovely brand of tune-age to St. Paddy's! Celtic music goes beautifully at pubs, renaissance fairs, faerie-themed events, barn dances, and all kinds of events where merry-making is called for- even funerals on occasion- so keep it in mind the next time you go out with family & friends!Whether you're Irish, Scottish, Welsh, Manx or Scots-Irish (like yours truly), if you're English, German, Italian, Asian, Greek, Indian, American, Black Irish or French, may the luck of the Irish always be with you, and may you find your own pot of gold in pleasures big and small on this clover-filled, merrily-jigging day! (Just be careful with the Guinness, Harp Lager & Goldschläger, please! We want you around to celebrate the NEXT St. Paddy's, too! ;D)Now let me pick my fiddle back up again, and have a merry St. Pat's!! (Although other parts of the world still identify strongly with their Celtic roots, such as Caledonia in Spain, Newfoundland in Canada, Brittany in France, as well as much of the American south; especially those in and around the Appalachian & Rocky ountains.)Don't believe me? Listen to some of the folk music from these areas (including much of old as well as new American Country- from Bluegrass on), and see if you don't hear a Celtic lilt to many of fiddle tunes & melodies!
