HOUR 1 Colorado politics takes center stage in this intense hour of Rush To Reason with John Rush, Andy Peth, and Charlie Grimes. What happens when a political strategy meant to “expand the tent” actually risks splitting the vote? The conversation begins with a deep dive into Greg Lopez's decision to run as an unaffiliated candidate, raising a critical question: Will his campaign attract new voters—or simply pull support away from Republicans? The hosts explore the complex psychology of Colorado's unaffiliated voters, debating whether they truly act independently or consistently lean left on election day. Could Lopez's strategy unintentionally strengthen Democratic dominance in the state? The discussion then widens to national headlines following Tucker Carlson's controversial comments, prompting debate over foreign policy, media influence, and the shifting landscape of political commentary. Finally, the hour turns to the future of Colorado's political leadership, with speculation about whether Senator Michael Bennett could become the state's next governor—and what that might mean for policy on taxes, guns, and government power. If internal party divisions continue, could Colorado face a dramatic political shift in the next election cycle? HOUR 2 Hour 2 dives deeper into the political fallout surrounding Greg Lopez's decision to run unaffiliated in Colorado. John, Andy, and Charlie dissect the strategy and ask a blunt question: Does this campaign actually broaden the political playing field—or does it split the conservative vote and hand Democrats an even bigger advantage? The conversation explores the behavior of Colorado's rapidly growing unaffiliated voter bloc, with the hosts arguing that many of these voters consistently elect Democrats despite rejecting tax increases and government expansion at the ballot box. Could this contradiction make Lopez's path even harder? The discussion then pivots to national media controversy after Tucker Carlson's remarks about war and surrender spark outrage and debate about Israel, U.S. foreign policy, and the responsibilities of influential commentators. Finally, the hosts look ahead to the next election cycle and raise a sobering possibility: could Michael Bennett become Colorado's next governor? If so, what would that mean for policies involving taxes, guns, health care, and TABOR? As internal battles within the Colorado GOP intensify, the hour closes with a warning that the biggest political threat may come from division within the party itself. HOUR 3 Hour 3 of Rush To Reason turns to a topic nearly everyone has an opinion on: America's tipping culture. A new survey claims that more than 80% of Americans believe tipping has spiraled out of control, and John, Andy, and Charlie dive into the growing backlash. Why are customers suddenly being asked to tip everywhere—from coffee counters to fast-food registers—and is the constant pressure pushing people past their limit? Listeners join the conversation with real-life stories about restaurant service, tipping etiquette, and the difference between earning a gratuity and expecting one. When does great service deserve a bigger reward, and when does the digital screen asking for a tip feel more like a demand than a thank-you? The discussion also explores how tipping works in other industries, including casinos, breakfast diners, and service jobs where tips traditionally mattered most. But as technology, taxes, and payment systems change, could the entire tipping model be shifting? With callers weighing in and strong opinions on both sides, the hour asks a question many Americans are now wondering: has tipping reached its breaking point?

Join the Conversation at 303-477-5600 or text to 307-200-8222 Monday - Friday from 3 pm - 6 pm MT. https://RushToReason.com HOUR 1 Hour 1 of Rush to Reason begins with practical advice before moving into conversations about culture, global politics, and technology. John Rush opens with plumber Mike Jansen of Plumberoos, discussing spring plumbing issues that many homeowners overlook. Why do hose bibs fail even after a mild winter? And what simple maintenance steps—like removing hoses or flushing water heaters—could prevent costly repairs? From home maintenance, the conversation flows into world affairs. John examines the situation in Iran and the lessons from the 1979 revolution that transformed the country. Could historical parallels offer warnings about ideological movements today? He challenges listeners—especially parents—to encourage young people to study history themselves rather than accept modern narratives at face value. Later, Chris Clements and Paul Fisher of Radiant Mobile introduced a Christian-centered mobile phone service designed to help families protect their children online. This raised the question: could network-level filtering prevent harmful internet content from reaching a device? As technology shapes daily life, John further asks how families can reclaim control over the digital tools their children use. Timestamps 1:08 — Mike Jansen — Owner https://plumberoos.com/ 27:29 — Chris Clements & Paul Fisher — Co-founders https://www.radiantmobile.com/ HOUR 2 Hour 2 explores the intersection of global energy markets, politics, consumer scams, sports, and tax policy. John opens with Daniel Turner of Power the Future, discussing volatility in oil prices and the geopolitical tensions surrounding Iran and the Middle East. Are rising prices really about supply, or are markets reacting to political uncertainty? The conversation examines tanker traffic, energy markets, and how American production could influence the global economy. John then shifts to a warning closer to home: a widespread toll-and-court-summons text-message scam circulating across Colorado. Using QR codes and threats of fines, scammers attempt to panic victims into paying fraudulent charges. John urges listeners to verify suspicious messages directly with the appropriate organization before responding. The hour then lightens as Richard Rush joins the program with a quick tour of Denver sports, including March Madness, NFL roster moves, and the Colorado Avalanche pushing for another championship run. The discussion closes with tax policy as California cracks down on wealthy drivers registering luxury vehicles in Montana to avoid high taxes—raising a larger question: when governments increase taxes and regulations, do they push people to find ways around them? Timestamps 1:10 — Daniel Turner https://www.powerthefuture.com/ HOUR 3 Hour 3 opens with a candid political discussion as Colorado gubernatorial candidate Greg Lopez joins John Rush to explain why he is running as an unaffiliated candidate rather than as a Republican. Can an independent candidate realistically win in Colorado's deeply entrenched two-party system? John challenges Lopez on the math behind that strategy, questioning whether an unaffiliated run could split the conservative vote. The conversation expands to key issues facing Colorado voters: the rising cost of living, housing affordability, development regulations, and ranchers' concerns about wolf reintroduction and rural livelihoods. After Lopez exits, John continues the discussion with callers and listeners, analyzing voter behavior, campaign fundraising, and Colorado's shifting political landscape. Looking at the numbers, he delivers a blunt prediction about the upcoming governor's race—raising the question of whether the outcome may already be set long before November. Hour 1 of Rush To Reason opens as John Rush and Andy Peth examine the political challenges for conservatives in deep-blue Colorado. What does it take to win statewide—and who is likely to do it? The discussion focuses on strategy, messaging, and coalition-building, highlighting why Mark Baisley may pose the strongest Republican Senate challenge. The tone intensifies as John and Andy analyze Greg Lopez's decision to leave the Republican Party and run as an unaffiliated candidate. Does breaking from the party expand the tent—or fracture it beyond repair? With blunt honesty, they examine loyalty, branding, media incentives, and the unintended consequences of splintered campaigns. Listeners are challenged to think beyond ideology and ask harder questions: Is the problem the conservative platform—or failure to sell it to the middle? In a state where margins count, this hour reveals party dynamics, discipline, and the high price of missteps. The discussion is fast and direct, setting the tone for the show. HOUR 2 Hour 2 of Rush To Reason shifts from domestic politics to the global stage as John and Andy are joined by Scott Angell, a leading advocate for USA Energy Workers (https://usaenergyworkers.com/). What does the “energy pivot” of 2025 really mean for prices, inflation, and jobs in 2026? And how do new offshore leases and domestic production reshape America's economic outlook? The conversation quickly expands to Venezuela, exploring how a leadership change could alter global power dynamics. Does Venezuela's shift weaken China, Russia, and Iran in the Western Hemisphere—and strengthen U.S. leverage with Canada ahead of critical trade negotiations? Callers add real-world insight into heavy crude, refineries, and why American expertise still dominates global energy. This hour explores media narratives, foreign policy doubts, and the rise of click-driven commentary. Are fear-driven takes blinding audiences to strategic wins? What happens when energy, security, and prosperity align? This brisk hour blends energy policy, geopolitics, and media scrutiny—prompting questions about who's winning in the evolving global order. HOUR 3 Hour 3 of Rush To Reason zeroes in on political strategy, electability, and momentum as John and Andy break down why Republicans often miss key opportunities. With corruption scandals rocking Minnesota, they ask the blunt question: why don't voters punish the entire party machine—and will Republicans actually capitalize on this opening in 2026? The conversation expands into a candid assessment of candidate marketability versus ideological purity. Why do business-minded leaders avoid politics—and how does that leave parties stuck with career politicians who don't know how to sell to the middle? From Minnesota to Colorado, John and Andy argue that winning requires understanding the political market. The hour closes with a sharp warning to grassroots activists and candidate supporters. Can a movement candidate win in a blue state without alienating persuadable voters? Are social media habits helping—or quietly sinking—otherwise viable campaigns? This hour challenges listeners to rethink what it really takes to win.

The Chuck & Julie Show with Chuck Bonniwell and Julie Hayden With Guests, Colorado Congressman from CD4, Greg Lopez and Former Sheriff and Investigative Expert, Mark Pfoff Colorado's new Congressman from CD4 Greg Lopez joins the show. He won the special election and will keep the seat until after the general election in November. Rep. Lauren Boebert beat out RINO candidates to win the GOP nomination for the CD4 general election. But it was a disappointing day otherwise for Colorado grassroots conservatives. We break it down.
Colorado's new Congressman Greg Lopez joins the show! And valiant grassroots efforts overwhelmed by millions of dollars poured into congressional races by national super PACS.

Lauren Boebert (R, CO-3) for outmaneuvering Democrats in her move from the 3rd Congressional District to the 4th, all but sealing a smooth handoff from Greg Lopez in January.Trump needs to be his classic self, but restrained and focused in Thursday's debate with Joe Biden.

The podcast dissects threats to our Rule of Law, the Supreme Court scandals and their far-reaching recent rulings, a topic of immense importance in the current political landscape. https://www.camachoforcolorado.com/ The unexpected overturning of Roe v Wade in the Dobbs case and the potential for even more severe cases in the future, particularly if Trump is re-elected, are thoroughly discussed. The fight against fascism is a key focus of the conversation, keeping the audience informed and engaged. Fighting fascism extends to Trisha Calvarese's return visit. The star of Episode 205 returns to brag about her May 22, 2024, beatdown of Greg Lopez in a debate held on the Dan Caplis Show. Trisha dishes on the race so far, her opponents Lopez and Boebert, and the awful rulings by the Trump Supreme Court. When the Democrats gain big momentum based on mass MAGA rejection, won't Trisha make it close in CO CD4? We wonder why Kyle Clark won't entertain a Calvarese v Boebert (Lopez) debate when the stakes are so high on June 25, 2024, when Colorado will have a new person in Congress to replace Ken Buck. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wjezs0Mdteo Given the discussion of Caplis with Trisha, hear Caplis proclaiming that President Biden will still drop out. Further, Caplis proclaims the existence of spirits from past relatives and the Deep State that are rigging everything against Trump. What can be done to stop all abortions? Apparently, anything, including propaganda. We analyze. Show Troubadour Dave Gunders supplies a song about a working man and a love that went way wrong. "Chop Wood Carry Water" tells the story of a man who got radicalized while following his passion. Current events reviewed. GREG LOPEZ AT 2:30 TODAY And though I am generally a Greg fan I was not happy he backed out of the Republican Women of Weld's debates Saturday over a fit of pique about an endorsement. I will ask him about that and let him make the case for your vote in the CD-4 special election to fill Ken Buck's seat until the next Congress is seated.
Randy kicks off the show reminding us of the reason we "celebrate" Memorial Day. And, his first wedding anniversary without his "Dreamegirl" (the late Tana Rae Corporon) falls on Monday as well. Plus, Trump surging with black voters (as we showed last week) and Hispanic voters (as we demonstrate this week). "Historic!" (according to CNN!!). CD4 candidate Greg Lopez is running to fill the space vacated by Ken Buck (greglopez.co). He joins the show. And a Viet Nam combat veteran living with 6 bullet holes in him, Mike, calls in full of emotion for his fallen friends, frustration with the ignorance of so many Americans on this holiday weekend, and rage at Democrat "leadership." He says hang 'em! Who can blame him for feeling that way?See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Rundown - Kyle Clark - 20:40 Troubadour Dave Gunders - 01:27:50 "Don't Give Me No Vape" by Dave Gunders - 01:43:03 9News Anchor Kyle Clark returns for the first time since Episode 100. We discuss his recent windy interview with US Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg and his tough helicopter story that made Governor Polis squirm. An objective reporter, Clark's long been the news leader at Colorado's News Leader. A native of a small town in Western New York, Kyle Clark worked AM radio at age 15 and loved his responsibilities filling in the open spots as play-by-play man John Sterling put his flourish to announcing on the New York Yankee Network. We learn though that his favorite sport is the NFL and the Buffalo Bills of his youth. For the first time on air, Kyle Clark reveals his youthful obsession with Buffalo Bills legend Orenthal James Simpson, who played under head coach Lou Saban (legendary Juice and Electric Company). Did Kyle follow the trial? Did he ever? Listen as Kyle Clark describes his sports passions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6TacThTV9c The differences between CA v Simpson and NY v Trump are analyzed. There are different forms of media coverage. What worked for 9News during OJ would not work today. We discuss Kyle Clark's experience covering a big northern Colorado murder case from start to finish. The American criminal justice system is the greatest show on earth. Nothing about the Trump hush money election interference trial has obvious ties to Colorado, but Trump's other Big Lie litigations sure do. Kyle Clark has studied and presented facts and figures showing how big parts of Trump's Big Lie and Insurrection flowed out of Colorado. Mass shootings have happened all too often in the great state of Colorado beginning 25 years ago at Columbine. Kyle Clark tells us he was a high school sophomore like Danny Mauser when he was executed. Now, Danny's dad and other parents of murdered children are being attacked on social media by pols. Kyle Clark pushes back against those lowlifes who would disparage legislators Tom Sullivan and Rhonda Fields. It used to be we all felt fury when Alex Jones made lies for profit in the wake of Sandy Hook. Now, MTG and groups like RMGO belittle parents of murdered children. https://www.9news.com/video/news/local/next/next-with-kyle-clark/commentary-theres-a-sickening-rise-in-indecency-toward-families-of-mass-shooting-victims-and-survivors/73-fbf74ee8-3ac4-4d49-aa31-1c410ac7e2b4 Colorado's CD4 gets discussed and the prospects of Lauren Boebert making her successful move east in Colorado. Regret was expressed that no invitation went out for a 9News debate between Boebert and Frisch in 2022. How's that for introspection? Memorable encounters with Boebert placeholder, Greg Lopez, get reviewed, as do the chances of Dem Trisha Calvarese. Kyle Clark gives his take on Denver pro sports ownership. Carpetbagging worries abound around the leaderless Broncos. The Monforts may never sell the Rockies; content to make money through visits by fans of opposition teams. As for the Nuggets and Avs, passionately decried is our inability to watch them on our regular TV simply. We discuss Kyle's amazing Word of Thanks, which has raised over 12 million dollars. It's easy and makes you feel good when you become a recurrent weekly giver. People trust Kyle Clark's judgment and hundreds of non-profits have benefited. https://www.9news.com/thanks We are thankful for a great conversation with Troubadour Dave Gunders about the Nuggets-Lakers series, how NY vs. Trump may shake out, the impact of a Judge who runs a tight courtroom and it's all happening on Passover. This year's Seder may have different prayers based on NY, Israel and world events. Gunders gives us his 4/20 song, "Don't Give Me No Vape." https://soundcloud.com/dave-gunders/dont-give-me-no-vape

Rundown - Trisha Calvarese - 15:43 Troubadour Dave Gunders - 01:13:30 "Sugar Don't Call" by Dave Gunders - 01:32:49 Meet Trish Calvarese, the dynamic Democratic candidate who intends to defeat Greg Lopez on June 25, 2024, in a Special Election caused by Representative Ken Buck's resignation. Learn how Calvarese gained the nomination, spurred to run by the wish of her dying father, a lifelong Republican. Colorado CD3 Rep. Lauren Boebert wants to switch to a more MAGA-friendly area and she's targeting CD4. In the meantime, Boebert needs to find a MAGA-approved GOP placeholder and that Republican nominee will be former Parker, Colorado Mayor Greg Lopez. On June 25, 2024, expect the nation to be riveted to the open seat contest between Calvarese and Lopez. Trish Calvarese is a Colorado native who grew up in various cities within Colorado's vast CD4. Her beloved late Dad, Joe Calvarese, was the City Prosecutor for Sterling and went on to serve in the US Civil Service as an SEC Compliance attorney. Trisha went to Highlands Ranch High School, where she was an academic standout and earned a scholarship to Johns Hopkins University. After college and during 2008-09, this millennial decided she wanted to work in the US Senate. She found herself a communications gig in the Capitol with Senator Bernie Sanders. Look forward to hearing her Bernie impression. Or is it an imitation of Larry David doing Bernie? Either way, Trisha Calvarese is entertaining. https://www.trisha4colorado.com/ Trish Calvarese went on to work for the AFL-CIO in Washington, D.C., including as a speechwriter for the late great Richard Trumka. Fate brought her back to Colorado after her parents passed away and she and her husband took on new responsibilities regarding this country we love. Lauren Boebert keeps getting overserved at Beetlejuice shows in Denver and Trump dinners in NYC and Mar-A-Lago. Trisha Calvarese can get the votes of regular Republicans and Unaffiliated voters with her common sense policies and lack of a criminal record. Greg Lopez is a known commodity. Clips are played from @9News (Kyle Clark), Channel 7 and KNUS when Lopez stood in the way of Colorado's Red Flag Law. Lauren Boebert and her placeholder Greg Lopez do the bidding of the gun industry and MAGA. Lopez/Boebert extremism extends to restricting all abortions, including in cases of rape and incest. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1nbrwBLYMM Size up the intelligence of Calvarese who discusses the multitude of challenges posed by artificial intelligence. She's worried about democracy if MAGA prevails, and she's determined to defeat Lopez/Boebert. Colorado voters generally disfavor carpetbaggers and grifters. Calvarese strongly supports IVF procedures. As a millennial married woman, she may need those reproductive rights options now threatened by MAGA judges and lawmakers. As for Russia v. Ukraine, Calvarese is resolute in supporting Ukraine, in sharp contrast to what Putin/Trump/Boebert and MAGA-GOQP want. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XoI_LFqsNqw Trisha Calvarese wants America to outcompete China. She's got big ideas for Colorado's fourth CD. Show Troubadour Dave Gunders proves once again why he's a musical genius and a great conversationalist. His opening lines of "Sugar Don't Call" work for the coming Eclipse, the NYC/NJ earthquake and the 400 calls in one day Lauren Boebert claims to make to an unquestioning Dan Caplis. One-half of the old Caplis and Silverman show, Dan Caplis, is now taking credit for the Caplis Plan to ensure the MAGA-approved Lauren Boebert prevails in a GOP primary while a placeholder (Greg Lopez) keeps the reliably Republican seat warm. Caplis keeps Boebert warm in another gushing interview and we have sound highlights. John Charles Eastman is a soon-to-be-disbarred lawyer with Colorado ties through CU, Colorado Republican Party State Committeeman and attorney/radio host, Randy Corporon. There was a Big Lie spat involving Eastman, Corporon and Denver radio host, Peter Boyles. Boyles now blames Eastman and Corporon for Big Lie and big threats. Corporon and Eastman dismiss all charges. We've got the sound and smart analysis. Hat tip to Allison Gill and Pete Strzok from Cleanup on Aisle 45. https://statesuniteddemocracy.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Eastman-Decision.pdf

After narrowly defeating former state senator Jerry Sonnenberg in a Republican special session for Colorado's 4th Congressional District, Greg Lopez will be the GOP nominee in the special election to replace Rep. Ken Buck for the remaining six months of his term in Congress. He won't be running in the GOP primary for the nomination in the November election, so he's content to serve as the 'placeholder' Dan had espoused as the best path forward for the seat and its constituents. Greg joins Dan to discuss his candidacy.
The Chuck & Julie Show with Chuck Bonniwell and Julie Hayden With Guest, Greg Lopez RINO Ken Buck's dirty swamp deal to hand his CD4 seat over to a fellow RINO is defeated. Greg Lopez, who will not be running in the general primary was selected to the DOP nominee for the special election. That keeps the playing field level despite Buck's attempt to hurt Rep, Lauren Boebert.
Ryan rolls into Hour 2 with his personal take on religion and the differences between the Catholic and Protestant faiths, as listeners call and text in with their thoughts. Also, Greg Lopez emerges as the GOP nominee for the special election to succeed Rep. Ken Buck and serve out the outcast Congressman's term after Buck's abrupt resignation.
