Inspired by a conversation this week, I've been thinking about some Buddhist concepts about life. Samsara, Kharma, & Dharma. Samsara meaning the cycles of life; birth, death, and rebirth. Karma being action driven by intention (cetanā) which leads to future consequences. Or cause and effect. Consequences of actions. And Dharma referring to a place of righteousness where we have freed ourselves from these cycles of Samsara and Karma. These terms coming up in my conversation struck me because I've been thinking more about the specific lessons I came into this life time to learn and taking time to notice when they show up and how and where I'm continuing to fail them.On this week's Identify & Heal solo episode, I thought I'd bring you all on track with my current focus of learning to recognize repeating patterns that keep showing up in my life. Considering how to begin making changes and choices to finally break the cycle. To no longer indulge in self defeating thoughts or fall into the rabbit hole of fixating on past mistakes or "if only" scenarios. I feel ready to break free and see what's on the other side of the karmic wheel. If you're like me you might have learned that kharma is about some big-bad God waiting to get back on you for everything from a minor fault to an egregioius mistake. Realistically, universally and simply, kharma, according to Dr. Lynn Anderson, is about cause and effect. And EVERYTHING you do is the cause of something else. Now, you don't need to worry about that person you offended so much as you should be a bit concerned with how these "effects" have and will turn into consequences to/for you. BTW, none of this is about moral judgment. It's about how you feel. So for those of you who love to immerse yourself in how you feel, let me say this... How YOU feel should matter to no one but you. Because as you traipse through this world thinking, doing and being, everything within you that is energy is pulling and pushing you toward lightness and love or darkness and despair. It's you who gets to decide the cause and effect of all your thoughts and actions - based on how you feel. That's what feelings are...indicators for self-knowledge and, if you're healthy of mind and body, indicators of self-actualizing actions. Some that if you don't take, will lead you down a road of effects you don't like.  But don't listen to me, hear my conversation with Dr. Lynn Anderson here.

What are the basics of the 12 Laws of Kharma and how can you utilize these to live a better, more purposeful life? According to the article on the Well and Good website: When you live in accordance with these 12 laws of karma, you create good karma in your life, theoretically increasing the likelihood for good things to happen. So what does it all look like in your every day life? How do you live well and with the 12 laws of Kharma on your side? 1. The Great Law “Cause and Effect” – Whatever thoughts or energy we put out, we get back—good or bad. 2. The Law of Creation You must create your reality (your future). 3. The Law of Humility You must accept reality in order to live in it. Own what you can control and let go of what you cannot. 4. The Law of Growth When we change ourselves, and evolve, our worldly reality will change and grow as a result. You must always be learning and improving. 5. The Law of Responsibility “Extreme Ownership” Jocko – take ownership of everything that happens in your life in one way or the other. “We are responsible for how we show up in the world, how we allow others to treat us, and how we treat other people.” “What you allow in your presence is your standard” 6. The Law of Connection We are all connected. Our past, present and future are all us. Everything is linked, all of our experiences and people we've met. When we help, teach, love and respect ourselves we do the same for others and vice versa. “Tough times create strong men, strong men create easy times. Easy times create weak men, weak men create tough times.” – G. Michael Hopf 7. The Law of Force “Focus” You are a shitty multi-tasker. We cannot truly do more than one thing at a time. We must focus on the task in front of us and complete it. 8. The Law of Giving and Hospitality You can't just say and think good things, you have to follow through with them. Practice what you preach and walk the walk. 9. The Law of Here and Now Be present in the moment. Don't listen to respond, focus on the world around you while you are in it. If you can endure it, endure it. Set the standard. Be Present. 10. The Law of Change History will repeat itself until we learn from experience and make the changes we need to make. The first thing you do in hypnotherapy setting is to build rapport, which makes people feel comfortable, and therefore respond to the hypnosis much better. I use affirmations which I deliver at a certain point in the recording, and also use sound frequencies to make the recordings enjoyable to listen to, and experiential. I've made the recordings over a 20-year period and they've changed over time, and now I generalize the recordings and make them work for the majority. There are times I've re-recorded an old recording, and then people write in and ask for the original because they feel connected with it. When I make recordings, I totally believe in what I'm saying and what I'm delivering. You just have to be right for this job, because if you're in the right place, you get that ability to be able to help others. I saw a stage hypnotist doing his thing and I saw something in it in that moment, and that's what sparked my interest then went off and learned the therapeutic side. I never intentionally started to make recordings for any kind of business plan. I did it for a client who asked me for a recorded session. I started recording more tapes and sold them off to stores and it took off very quickly. I was meditating and doing affirmations about being in the right place at the right time, and my unconscious mind my conscious mind, were working in perfect synergy. I got a call from Nielsen book data and they said that I could have a gold disc for my title, because I had sold a quarter of a million pounds' worth, and I got a gold disc. I then realized I could use that as leverage promotional thing and I put that out there on all social media which led to BBC offering me a deal for all of my recordings. All the time I was working on my unconscious to clear away any negative failure programming because without doing that, it would have been much harder and I wouldn't have got this far. Commercial break You can create this program inside you, that the external world responds to automatically. If you take on board these affirmations and these beliefs on a deep level, the world responds to you and is incredible. This life is an amazing opportunity to grow and heal our Karma and awaken, and naturally, looking inside and meditation is the way to find that. A lot of my work is about helping people who are stuck, to move forward and work on themselves and go for the delayed gratification instead of the short term pleasure. Look at the influences in your life and do not be afraid to cut ties when people are holding you back or lowering your energy. Kharma Vella is the Brand Product Director at Poler. Kharma was an original co-founder of the brand, and the creative mastermind behind some of Poler's most notable products. He was ousted from the company by his partner, but rejoined in October of last year - post brand bankruptcy - as Poler prepared to relaunch under new ownership. Originally founded in 2010, Poler is an outdoor brand that aims to fill the void between action sports and outdoor wear; they have been described as a lovechild of Volcom and Patagonia. Poler grew rapidly to high 7-figure revenues in 2016, then took a nosedive before filing for Bankruptcy in 2019. Now they are back. This is their story and the lessons they've learned.
