In this episode of Talk of Fame, Kylie Montigney talks with Rafe Carlson! Fast-rising Country artist Rafe Carlson (pronounced RAYF) is striking a chord with fans from the Midwest to Nashville and everywhere in between with his high-octane, energetic live shows, guitar driven tracks, and unapologetic, Skynyrd-esque attitude. Right at the intersection of modern Country and Southern Rock, Rafe's lyrics nod to his upbringing in the frigid Northwoods of Minnesota. The 26-year-old multi-instrumentalist grew up hunting, fishing, and working outdoors in one of the continental U.S.'s harshest climates. His bloodline consists of carpenters, loggers, Vikings, home-builders, and WW2 soldiers. Naturally, his country sound is a little rougher-around-the-edges, with gritty electric guitar parts played by cousins Steven and David Carlson. The Duluth native has garnered over 55,000,000 views on social media, worked with Grammy winning producers and prolific hit songwriters in Nashville, and appeared at festivals and events all over the country. The success of his shows in the Midwest led to Rafe joining bills with superstar acts like Jon Pardi, Jake Owen, Trace Adkins, Chris Janson, and dozens more. His most recent release out of Nashville, 'Big City Lights' has seen radio play across the Upper Midwest, on country stations in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa. 2025 Will see Rafe joining dozens of superstar acts like Riley Green, Lainey Wilson, Hardy, Cody Johnson and more, and performing at WeFest, Hoofbeat Country Fest, and plenty of other iconic Midwest festivals and events.Listen in as we discuss Rafe's journey and touring with some of the biggest country music artists. You'll be inspired by his dedication to his craft and creating new music.Links Mentioned:https://linktr.ee/rafecarlson?fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAaf6SnaefiiQDdFmsgMqtQYv4sCZvmkrZ5yJKa_9Xb8KukNlTzaNmMHxFdcKOA_aem_SuhwBt-wP1_2M9L5emQ4lgFollow Me:Instagram:@Officialkyliemontigney@TalkoffamepodFacebook:OfficialkyliemontigneyTalkoffameTwitter:@Kyliemontigney4About Me:Hi, I'm Kylie! Strap in and grab your Trimble, because Episode 252 of The Geoholics takes us on a globetrotting, tech-loving, swamp-sloshing survey saga with none other than Chad Maxwell, PLS—a man who's mapped more terrain than your Roomba on espresso. We kick things off with the usual “Jake Owen sings while KG wings it” intro, followed by breaking news from the land of satellite miners, career advice from the GeoSearch crew, and an ESRI pro tip that may or may not involve chair-based motivation. Then it's time for the main event: Chad “Every Mode of Transport” Maxwell. This guy has surveyed from 200 meters in the sky to 3,000 meters under the sea, possibly while simultaneously filing expense reports and dodging alligators in a swamp buggy. He's done geomatics work inside a jet engine, which raises both safety concerns and curiosity about what his LinkedIn endorsements look like. Highlights include: A “remote-sensing-first” mindset that could make drones blush. A heartfelt plea to ditch outdated habits (we're looking at you, paper field books). A shout-out to the ASPRS standards that got more love than most people's fantasy football teams. And a lighting round that proves even surveyors enjoy filling in the blank—especially when the blank is “The future of surveying is _______.” From nuclear reactors to the Grand Canyon, Chad Maxwell proves that the future of surveying is just one swamp buggy ride away.
Send us a textIn the 2000's, there was not a band in Central Kentucky that had quite the cult following as Hooker. Nearly non stop from 2002 until 2010, Hooker was doing gigs all over to packed houses... opening for the likes of Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton and other who's who of mainstream country music. The boys mostly from Hodgenville literally grew up with a generation of young folks just like them having their songs sung back to them by packed houses of star struck crowds. And now, Hooker has recently released their songs on all music platforms and are back to doing shows thanks primarily to a mutual friend -- TJ Downs. Like the Jake Owen song "I was Jack (you were Diane)", Hooker is now having their fans going back in time! This episode is perfect timing as Kyle Williamson, Hurley, and Doc sat down with the Bo Brothers to talk about old times and what's in store for Hooker - which we are happy to say includes an August 1st performance in Lebanon during the Lebanon Tourism's Summer Concert Series! This power packed episode of 2 Shots will take you back to the Hooker Days and have you for sure chomping at the bit for what is bound to be a humongous concert later this Summer! Also, we had Good Buddies Ray Osborne stop by and say hello which was perfect as Ray was who had the idea of getting Hooker on 2 Shots! Colt and David sit down with singer/songwriter Hannah Ellis. Curb Records recording artist Hannah Ellis' journey – and world – is one all can feel at home in. The Campbellsville, Kentucky-native's voice - a mix of favorite flannel, sparkling pink wine and welcome - is the friend we always wanted. Whether pouring from a car radio or your phone, the act named to Rolling Stone's “Artist To Watch” list reminds you big leaps often come as a series of small steps when no one is looking. Having paid for her University of Kentucky degree with her full-ride scholarship, she – with the full support of her family – started chasing her dreams. Like so many, that meant a trip to The Voice on NBC, a self-financed EP, and moving to Nashville to begin the endless rounds of writers nights, meetings, making friends, and trying to find your way. Hannah paid her dues, kept her focus and kept moving towards something she was sure she felt and knew was right. The fresh-faced songwriter has since written songs recorded by artists, and been featured as a vocalist on songs, spanning multiple genres, including: Russell Dickerson, Carly Pearce, for KING & COUNTRY, Danielle Bradbery, and Francesca Battestelli. The magnetic artist, who made her Grand Ole Opry debut on Sept 28th, 2023, has toured with Gavin DeGraw, Dwight Yoakam, Carly Pearce, Martina McBride, Billy Currington, Jake Owen and many others, and has toured as part of the CMT “Next Women of Country” Tour.Website: www.hannahellismusic.comFacebook: www.facebook.com/hannahellismusicInstgram: www.instagram.com/hannahgreyellisTwitter (X): www.twitter.com/hannahgreyellisTikTok: www.tiktok.com/@hannahgreyellisYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/hannahgreyellis/videosSpotify: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2X0AxEXX0KGKIhMxo1WvjQSend us a textSupport the Show.Check out our socials and follow us!Facebook: www.facebook.com/TwangTownPodcastInstagram: www.instagram.com/TwangTownPodTwitter: www.twitter.com/TwangTownPodWe would love your support to continue to bring listeners amazing content!Cash App: www.cash.app/$TwangTownPodBuzzsprout: https://www.buzzsprout.com/2232176/support

From North Carolina, Blake has been in Nashville since 2013 with a very productive 10 years of experience built up. His breakthrough came with “865”, track 5 on Morgan Wallen's “Dangerous” album, which he co-wrote on Zoom during COVID with John Byron. You're gonna hear Blake talk about that song catching Morgan's attention which would lead him to a publishing deal and 8 more cuts for Morgan. You'll hear the stories behind several of his Morgan Wallen cuts, “Key West and Colorado”, a cut he has with Chase Rice, and an unreleased song called “One of the Ways”. Coming up on three years since his first publishing deal, Blake discusses the challenges of songwriting in a competitive industry and the dynamics between Nashville's community-oriented culture compared to LA's strategic approach.
