Happy Wellness Wednesday, Today's breath is Diaphragmatic Breathing which strengthens diaphragm making it less energy to breathe. Place one hand on your stomach just below rib cage and the other hand on your upper chest. Inhale through your nose deeply, inflating your stomach. Focus on keeping the hand on your chest still as you inhale. Exhale through pursed lips, tightening your stomach muscles and drawing inward. Repeat this cycle for five to ten minutes.Today's nudge is: quit your self doubtYou are in charge of your thoughts. No one can make you think the way you think. You can allow yourself to think how others tell you to think, but you own that. You become what you think you are. If you think you are a poor math student, then you don't pay attention in class, you don't try with the classwork and you give up on the tests. Your self-doubt sabatogges your thoughts and abilities. But if you tell yourself that perhaps, if you try harder you will get it and understand the concept this  will allow you to do well on the classwork giving you confidence on the tests. This works in all aspects of your life. If you have self-doubt about your work ability, you won't move up in your job. If you tell yourself that you aren't worthy of love, then you won't put yourself out there to be loved. First you are going to inhale while you draw the base or bottom with your nose, hold your breath while you go up the square side, exhale the top length of the square, and hold your breath again while going down the side of the square to meet the base where you started. Let's do this three times:Inhale the base, hold going up the side, exhale slowly going across the top of your square and finally hold your breath again going down the side to the base. Again; Inhale the base, hold going up the side, exhale slowly going across the top of your square and finally hold your breath again going down the side to the base. One more: Inhale the base, hold going up the side, exhale slowly going across the top of your square and finally hold your breath again going down the side to the base. Continue to do the square breath while I give you your morning nudge Today's nudge is: Rest, don't quitSometimes we just need a little break from whatever we are striving towards. What you put into your body you get back out. If you want energy and good health consume fruits, vegetables and grains. Drink a lot of water. Sleep 8 hours a day. Be active and exercise daily. Happy Wellness Wednesday, Today's breath is Diaphragmatic Breathing which strengthens diaphragm making it less energy to breathe. Place one hand on your stomach just below rib cage and the other hand on your upper chest. Inhale through your nose deeply, inflating your stomach. Focus on keeping the hand on your chest still as you inhale. Exhale through pursed lips, tightening your stomach muscles and drawing inward. Repeat this cycle for five to ten minutes. Today's nudge is: Persist and resistPush yourself to your limits. Do your absolute best. Don't settle until you are truly satisfied. If you want that grade, work for it. If you want that new job or pay raise, work for it. Want that victory? If you stumble, get back up, wipe off your knees and get back at it. Work hard and then work harder! Don't give in or give up. Persist in all of your efforts, despite any obstacles you might face. Resist any negativity, discouragement and/or distractions. In today's episode we discuss how to create balance in your life. Create healthy routines which then you can turn into healthy lifestyle changes. Here are some suggestions that I do on a daily basis. Wake up and meditate and/or pray. I use an app called Insight Timer and the morning meditation I use is call Morning Prayer: Opening to Oneness by Vaz Sriharan I drink warm lemon water, 1/4 - 1/2 fresh squeezed lemon in about 6 - 8oz warm water. Eat real food. 3 meals a day and two snacks in between (Eliminate processed food, processed sugar, gluten, dairy) Exercise. Walking is a great way to exercise and can be a form of meditation.
