Governor JB Pritzker of Illinois is not your average progressive. He is a billionaire with an activist upbringing, in a family that prioritized advocating for the people who need it most. MSNBC's Jen Psaki wanted to get a sense of his approach to governing in this second Trump term and why priorities like raising the minimum wage and ending his state's grocery tax are front of mind for him. They also talk about the reality of a rigged system and the dangerous precedent set when an unelected citizen like Elon Musk is running much of our government. And the Governor is not shy about reminding Democrats to revive a core principle of making things just a little bit easier for everyday Americans.Want to listen to this show without ads? It's Friday, November 22nd, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Anti-Christian hate crimes in Turkey have doubled The number of anti-Christian hate crimes in Turkey more than doubled from 2021 to 2023, according to an International Christian Concern analysis. The Freedom of Belief Initiative, a religious freedom watchdog group, reports that hate crimes against Christ followers in Turkey jumped from 10 in 2021 to 22 in 2023. Since 2020, Christians have experienced most of the religious hate crimes committed in Turkey, with 52 occurrences reported. The crimes include property damage, harassment, and violence. In John 15:20, Jesus said, “If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you.” Int'l Criminal Court issues arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu In a shocking development, the International Criminal Court issued formal arrest warrants yesterday for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for alleged Israeli “crimes against humanity” and “war crimes” committed in Gaza. Gary Bauer, Founder of Campaign for Working Families, wrote, “Israel is fighting an existential war against Islamic supremacists who have promised a second Holocaust and vowed to destroy the state of Israel. And the International Criminal Court wants to put Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant on trial? “This is what happens when nations surrender their sovereignty to globalist world government. The International Criminal Court is a creation of the United Nations, but functions independently of the U.N. The United States and Israel wisely opposed the creation of the International Criminal Court.” Bauer concluded, “Donald Trump imposed sanctions on International Criminal Court officials when they tried to go after U.S. troops who fought in Afghanistan. The Biden/Harris administration repealed those sanctions. This insane action ensures that the Trump/Vance administration will terminate any and all support for the International Criminal Court.” Matt Gaetz withdraws his name from U.S. Attorney General consideration Former GOP Congressman Matt Gaetz of Florida, a Trump loyalist, withdrew his name for U.S. Attorney General yesterday, reports NBC News. He tweeted, "It is clear that my confirmation was unfairly becoming a distraction to the critical work of the Trump/Vance Transition. There is no time to waste on a needlessly protracted Washington scuffle, thus I'll be withdrawing my name from consideration to serve as Attorney General. Trump's Department of Justice must be in place and ready on Day 1.” Gaetz's path to being confirmed by the U.S. Senate was mired by a series of allegations of sexual misconduct, including his hiring prostitutes and having an intimate encounter with a minor at a 2017 party, according to leaks from the House Ethics Committee. The New York Times had reported that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, Senators Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of Maine, and Senator-elect John Curtis of Utah had all indicated they would not confirm Gaetz as Attorney General. With a 53-member majority, four defections would be enough to defeat the nomination. Will Gov. Ron DeSantis appoint Gaetz as Senator to replace Marco Rubio? Questions have swirled on whether Florida Governor Ron DeSantis will now nominate Gaetz as his state's next senator. DeSantis must appoint a replacement for Senator Marco Rubio, who was tapped as Trump's secretary of state, should the Senate confirm him. Under the U.S. Constitution and Florida state law, the governor has the power to fill vacancies in the U.S. Senate while voters decide who fills empty seats in the U.S. House. Senator Marco Rubio of Florida was re-elected in 2022. That means whoever replaces him will serve until 2026, when a special election will ensue to determine who holds the seat for the rest of his term until 2028. Sources close to DeSantis say it's unlikely he'll appoint Gaetz. Trump taps Florida's former Attorney General to be U.S. Attorney General President-elect Donald Trump announced former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi as his nominee for U.S. attorney general, reports The Epoch Times. On Truth Social, Trump wrote, “Pam was a prosecutor for nearly 20 years, where she was very tough on violent criminals, and made the streets safe for Florida families.” Bondi also served as Florida's attorney general from 2011 to 2019. The president-elect said that as the state's first female attorney general, Bondi “worked to stop the trafficking of deadly drugs, and reduce the tragedy of fentanyl overdose deaths, which have destroyed many families across our country.” MSNBC's Joe & Mika met with President-elect Trump after calling him Hitler On Comedy Central's The Daily Show, Jon Stewart, a liberal comedian, got a chuckle out of the recent visit made by MSNBC's top liberals, Joe and Mika Scarborough, who were willing to sit down with President-elect Trump at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida. STEWART: “Joe and Mika Brzezinski Scarborough, who famously warned of the growing threat of Trump's fascism, also had an interesting announcement to make.” MIKA SCARBOROUGH: “Last Thursday, we expressed our own concerns on this broadcast, and even said we would appreciate the opportunity to speak with the president elect himself. “On Friday, we were given the opportunity to do just that. Joe and I went to Mar-a-Lago to meet personally with President-elect Trump. And for those asking why we would go speak to the president elect during such fraught times, especially between us, I guess I would ask back, ‘Why wouldn't we?'" STEWART: “Because you said he was Hitler!" (laughter) Biden secretly awards Planned Parenthood leader And finally, in a secret ceremony, President Joe Biden gave the Medal of Freedom to Cecile Richards who aggressively ran the murder giant, Planned Parenthood, for 12 years, reports LifeNews.com. According to the Washington Times, “The ceremony was not listed on Mr. Biden's public schedule, nor was his decision to award the medal to Ms. Richards publicly announced until after the presentation. Members of the media were not invited to watch the ceremony.” Under Richards' leadership, Planned Parenthood pushed abortion on demand during all nine months of pregnancy. Despite the fact that she oversaw the systematic murders of 1.5 million pre-born babies every year, President Biden laughably called Cecile Richards “a leader of the utmost character.” However, Isaiah 59:7 describes Cecile Richards more accurately. “Their feet rush into sin; they are swift to shed innocent blood. They pursue evil schemes; acts of violence mark their ways.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Friday, November 22nd, in the year of our Lord 2024. It's Wednesday, November 6th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark and Adam McManus Sudanese Muslims drove 34 Christians from their homes Morning Star News reports Muslims in Sudan drove 34 Christians from their homes last month. The Christians had come to the area after fleeing military conflict elsewhere in the northeastern African country. However, local Muslims demanded they leave since they did not want Christians in the area. One of the Christians said, “We are currently in a very bad humanitarian situation, as we have lost our shelter, and we have children, women and the elderly. And we have lost our livelihoods that helped us provide for our basic daily needs.” According to Open Doors, Sudan is the 8th most dangerous country for Christians worldwide. Pro-lifer reacts to prayer censorship zone around abortion mills Last Thursday, a “buffer zone” law went into effect in England and Wales. The Public Order Act 2023 bans people from “influencing” people at abortions mills. The United Kingdom's Crown Prosecution Service released legal guidance on the law. It noted that people could violate the law near abortion mills by offering counsel, handing out leaflets, holding Bibles, displaying images of babies, singing around religious pictures, and praying, including silent prayer. Isabel Vaughan-Spruce, director of March for Life UK, called the law a national disgrace. VAUGHAN-SPRUCE: “Today is a shameful day for our country. Buffer zones around abortion centers have been legalized with an unlimited fine risk for those caught waking the obscure rules they set out.” Conservative Christian groups spending more money in Africa Conservative groups are increasing spending in Africa, according to a report from the Amsterdam-based Institute for Journalism and Social Change. The report covered 17 U.S. groups most of which were Christian and known for opposing sexually perverted lifestyles. The groups included Heartbeat International, Focus on the Family, Alliance Defending Freedom, and the Home School Legal Defense Association. The groups spent a combined $16.5 million in Africa between 2019 and 2022. Over the period, spending increased 47%. U.S. conservative groups' investment in Africa comes as nations in the continent have passed laws in favor of Biblical marriage and sexuality. 80 million voters cast ballots during early voting Voters in the United States headed to the polls yesterday for the 2024 presidential election. Nearly 80 million voters already cast ballots in early voting. Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump both encouraged their supporters to vote early. Voters will also be deciding control of the U.S. Congress. Nonpartisan analysis suggests that Republicans are likely to regain control of the Senate, but they might lose control of the House where Democrats only need to win four seats. Daniel 2:21 says God “changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.” Early election results appear promising for Trump Initial results are in and early calls have been made. So far there are no surprises. Ten states, including Florida, have been called for Trump and eight states have been called for Harris. Gary Bauer, the founder of Campaign for Working Families, wrote, “Kudos to RNC Co-Chair Lara Trump. Throughout the day, the RNC had a serious ballot integrity effort under way so that at the first signs of predictable Democrat cheating, we immediately went into court to correct the situation. “While the night is still young, Harmeet Dhillon reports that everything seems to be running smoothly in Maricopa County, Arizona. The big challenge is making sure people get in line so they can vote. “There is one troubling area where we still need more information. An alleged ‘tabulation error' in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, has resulted in 31,000 absentee ballots being recounted. Election officials made this announcement without stating any results. This is the kind of thing that puts us all on edge. “Florida is the third largest state in the country and they are racing through the counting process. Donald Trump and Sen. Rick Scott are leading by nearly one million votes. In fact, Trump is reportedly up by double digits in heavily Hispanic Miami-Dade County, suggesting he may perform well with Hispanics across the country. “But how is it that Florida can count ballots so efficiently and will have their results in a few hours while much smaller states are saying it will take days or weeks? It doesn't take weeks to count votes. It takes weeks to cheat. “A CNN exit poll found that the degree of dissatisfaction with the direction of the country is extraordinary, and that should help Trump. Commentators said this was a strong current Harris must swim against since she has been in office the last four years.” Gary Bauer made one final observation. “One exit poll indicated that independent voters in Georgia were breaking for Trump by high single digits.” David Axelrod: There is “no enthusiasm on the ground for Kamala Harris” Appearing on CNN's "State of the Union" this past Sunday, David Axelrod, the chief strategist of Barack Obama's two successful presidential campaigns, said that there is "zero enthusiasm on the ground for Kamala Harris in demographics that [she] most needs." AXELROD: “The watch word of the day is humility here. When you have polls this close, you're not sure of anything, and it really matters who shows up, because these polls are not precise. “So, what I'm worried about is you're counting on some women -- who are independent, Republican women -- to come out and vote for Harris. Is that going to materialize? Is the gender gap going to be what you need it to be? “Are minority voters going to come out in the numbers, of African-American voters in particular, and are you going to get the margins that you want there? So, there are a lot of open questions. This race is filled with uncertainty today.” 114-year-old Pennsylvania woman the oldest in North America And finally, a Pennsylvania woman is now considered to be the oldest living person in North America. 114-year-old Naomi Whitehead lives in a senior care community in Greenville West Salem. She attained the status after 115-year-old Elizabeth Francis of Texas died last month. Naomi was born in September 1910 and has outlived her husband and three sons. She's the seventh oldest person in the world and has 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 49 great-great-grandchildren, and three great-great-great-grandchildren. She said she's abstained from smoking and drinking and also credits good genes. She told New Castle News last year, “I'll live as long as the Lord lets me.” 1 Peter 3:10-11 says, “He who would love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit. Let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Wednesday, November 6th, in the year of our Lord 2024. But U.S. House candidates agree on little else Racing toward Election Day, Republican incumbent Mike Lawler, who seeks re-election to the U.S. House representing District 17, which includes Philipstown, and his Democratic challenger, Mondaire Jones, agree that America must address crucial questions on abortion, border security, the environment, gun violence, law enforcement and relations with Israel. But when it comes to approaches, they clash, as they did last week at a TV News 12 debate, when they interrupted each other and accused one another of lying. An Emerson College/Pix11/The Hill poll of 630 likely voters in District 17 conducted three weeks ago showed a toss-up, with Lawler drawing 45 percent and Jones 44 percent, with a 3.8 percent margin of error. Three percent of respondents said they supported Anthony Frascone, the Working Parties candidate, and 7 percent said they were undecided. According to the poll, the top issue for District 17 voters is the economy (32 percent), followed by immigration (20 percent), housing affordability (13 percent), crime (11 percent) and threats to democracy (10 percent). The poll found the presidential race between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump in District 17 tied at 49 percent each. Raised by a single mother in Rockland County, Jones, 37, often recalls how he "grew up in Section 8 [subsidized housing] and on food stamps." He earned degrees from Stanford and Harvard and, as a lawyer, worked in private practice and for the Justice Department and Westchester County district attorney. Lawler, 38, also from Rockland, has been executive director of the New York State Republican Party, deputy town supervisor in Orangetown, a political lobbyist and consultant and a one-term state Assembly member. Each has served a single House term and needs a victory on Nov. 5 to return to Capitol Hill. In 2020, Jones won election to what was then the 17th District, covering suburban areas near New York City. Its boundaries substantially changed in a 2022 redistricting. Rather than run in the newly reconfigured 17th, which stretches northward to encompass sections of the former 18th District, including Philipstown, Jones competed in a House primary in New York City but lost. The same year, Lawler, who lives in Pearl River, defeated a Philipstown resident, Democrat Sean Patrick Maloney. Frascone, who lives in Rockland County, won the Working Families line in a primary over Jones. Democratic Party leaders in Putnam and Westchester sued to remove his name, calling him a "a ghost candidate without a campaign, staff or spending," backed by Republicans to draw votes from Jones. On Tuesday (Oct. 22), a state judge ruled it was too late to remove Frascone's name. Both Lawler and Jones claim to favor bipartisanship and political moderation, even as they portray each other as radicals. Abortion On his campaign website, Jones asserts that Lawler "supports letting politicians ban abortion without exceptions for rape and incest." During News 12's Oct. 16 debate, Jones said, "I want to restore women's reproductive freedom, taken away when Republicans overturned Roe v. Wade," the 1973 Supreme Court decision. By comparison, Jones said, Lawler holds an "extreme" position, "would be a reliable vote for a national abortion ban," and favors outlawing abortion in New York. "That is a lie," Lawler interjected. He said Jones "has lied throughout this entire campaign" and that "the only extremist here is Jones. He supports abortion up to the moment of birth. He supports gender selection." "You know that's not true," Jones responded. Lawler said he does not support a federal ban on abortion and that he has "always supported exceptions for rape, incest and the life and health of the mother" and "fought to codify access to IVF [in-vitro fertilization] in federal law and access to contraception. I fought back against my own party in the effort to ban mifepristone," a drug used in non-surgical abortions. Border security and immigrati...
Levenberg seeks re-election for second term Michael Capalbo began a debate with state Assembly Member Dana Levenberg at the Ossining Library on Oct. 7 by condemning antisemitism and asking spectators to remember the killing and kidnapping of Israelis a year earlier by Hamas. But a comment he made 11 minutes later overshadowed that gesture. Responding after Levenberg, who is Jewish, spoke of her support for increased funding and municipal aid in this year's budget, the Republican and Conservative party candidate said: "They throw her some shekels to do some work in her community." On Tuesday (Oct. 15), Capalbo said it was a "clumsy use of words" and that he had Jewish supporters attending the debate who took "no offense to it whatsoever." But Levenberg, whose name appears on the Democratic and Working Families lines, said she was offended. "Especially following his comment about how he's against antisemitism, I thought it was so tone-deaf," she said. The rest of the nearly one-hour debate, organized by the League of Women Voters for Northwest Westchester County, and subsequent telephone interviews this week gave the candidates opportunities to highlight their other contrasts in the race for the 95th District, which includes Philipstown. Levenberg, who has a campaign cash advantage ($88,477 to $11,814), is a former Ossining supervisor and chief of staff to her predecessor, Sandy Galef, who held the seat for 30 years. During Levenberg's first term, which began in January 2023, she has supported core progressive issues such as the environment, education funding and efforts to build more housing to drive down costs. She voted for the Climate Change Superfund Act, which the Legislature passed in June. The bill, which Gov. Kathy Hochul has yet to sign, requires that companies responsible for the buildup of greenhouse gases help fund infrastructure projects that reduce the impact of climate change. Levenberg said she is crafting legislation requiring climate risks to be factored in for transit-oriented developments built near public-transportation stops like those along Metro-North's Hudson Line, which is prone to flooding from the Hudson River. The 95th District runs along the river from Briarcliff Manor to Philipstown. "We have to be cognizant of those issues, particularly in my district," said Levenberg. In the state budget approved in April, Levenberg and Democrats in the Legislature negotiated for a bigger increase to foundation aid than Hochul originally proposed for local school districts. She also supported spending the $2 million that is funding the Rockefeller Institute study of the formula the state uses to distribute foundation aid. In areas like Ossining and Philipstown, data showing high incomes can mask the needs of their school districts, said Levenberg. In Ossining, "we kept getting knocked down by the formula because there are wealthy pockets that were bringing up the median income," said Levenberg, a former school board member for the district. She also plans to re-introduce legislation that would require each city, town and village to develop a plan to increase its supply of housing "for everyone." Those plans would be subject to a public hearing and have to be submitted to the state Division of Housing and Community Renewal. Some of that new housing needs to be affordable, including for middle-income households, said Levenberg. "We need it for our kids, we need it for our seniors, we need it for people on fixed incomes and people who are just trying to get a foot in the door in Westchester and Putnam counties," she said. By contrast, Capalbo said during the debate that "hostile laws toward landlords" have left tens of thousands of housing units vacant because their owners "can't get the rent stabilization reviewed" so they can make a profit. "They're sitting there because it's more worthwhile for landlords to do it," said Capalbo, a business analyst who lives in Yorktown. He railed about the control by Democrat...
Hosts Tiffany Cross, Angela Rye, and Andrew Gillum kick off today with a recap of last weekend's live show at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation's Annual Legislative Conference. Check out the whole event in last Monday's episode, or you can see everyone's wonderful outfits in the YouTube version. Lots of doom and Republican-gloom this week, as the GOP seeks to force American women to have babies even as they oppose support for families with young kids. A Minnesota state senator claims that kids in his state don't need free school lunches because he's “never met a hungry person in Minnesota…” OK. JD Vance advocates his “plan” for making childcare more affordable: call grandma. And Gov DeSantis goes full propaganda mode to protect Florida's 6-week abortion ban, while using Florida law enforcement to harass pro-choice supporters. God forbid anyone commit the most heinous crimes of being born a woman or a hungry child in a poor family… Y'all had some great listener questions this week, including whether or not famous politicians listen to our show, and why isn't the Harris/Walz campaign pushing more populace policies (or are they)? Tim shares how his faith informs his political views, the significance of remembering and understanding American history and religion, and the importance of literacy and critical thinking in maintaining a constitutional republic. Tim also talks more about why he feels so positive about the future of the USA and explains a little about why the least likely heroes can play a significant role in restoration and renewal. “History is ultimately fact-based. It's not it's not opinionated narrative.” - Tim Goeglein “Millions of Americans want something better.” - Tim Goeglein “The absolute best days for the United States of America are ahead of us, not behind us.” - Tim Goeglein This Week on The Wow Factor: Tim shares his unexpected journey from intern to press secretary in the U.S. Senate for ten years How Thomas Jefferson and James Madison became key figures in the country's founding and the influence of God in the Constitutional Convention The importance of civic literacy and involvement in maintaining a truly constitutional republic The importance of teaching American history and God's word to our young people, and why Tim thinks there is currently a lack of knowledge among students about biblical figures and historical documents Why the Founding Fathers emphasized virtue, integrity, and character as the key to building a constitutional republic Why Tim is an optimist who sees seedlings of restoration and regeneration in homeschooling's booming popularity Why we should prioritize teaching children generosity and the impact it will have on their lives More about Tim's new book "Stumbling Toward Utopia" and how it explores 1960s ideas and their impact on current society, offering solutions for progress Tim Goeglein's Words of Wisdom: The least likely men and women, the ones that you think are the least likely ones to be at the forefront of restoration, renewal, and regeneration, are very often the ones God himself uses to move forward. In this episode, our hosts Bruce Lesley and Messellech “Selley” Looby chat with Abby McCloskey, who directed the Convergence Collaborative on Supports for Working Families, a project bringing together 31 family policy leaders of diverse ideologies and included our co-host Bruce Lesley. The Convergence process issued a final report entitled In This Together: A Cross-Partisan Action Plan to Support Families with Young Children in America.McCloskey discusses some of the collaborative's cross-partisan policy recommendations, such as creating government structures focused explicitly on children and offering 12 weeks of paid parental leave. McCloskey emphasizes that bringing these recommendations to fruition will require bipartisan effort.Today's children are in crisis. They face rising maternal and infant mortality rates, a mental health epidemic, a public education system under attack, increasing homelessness, and other challenges. McCloskey outlines the importance of working through political polarization to create bipartisan solutions that address these and other issues affecting our nation's children. Jane Van Zyl is the CEO of Working Families, a UK based charity focused on helping working parents and carers. Their mission is to remove the barriers that people with caring responsibilities face in the workplace. They do this in three ways, a free legal advice line to help people with their issues and concerns, working with employers to help create and sustain flexible working and thirdly by pushing for practical and positive change at a policy level. Working Families has contributed to the Government's Flexible Working Task Force since 2018. As part of this close consultation and a recent private members bill, employees in 2024 will be able to request flexible working from day one of their employment and be able to make that request three times in one year whereby employers must respond to the request. The ability of an employer to understand and consider flexible working is an attractive proposition for a modern, diverse and talented workforce. What does flexibility actually mean? It's not a new concept. It refers to all of the ways you can work flexibly, such as term-time working, part time, hybrid, job share etc. The pandemic shone a light on people working from home for increased periods of time. Jane explains to me that working from home during the pandemic was desperately difficult for so many in shared, cramped and isolated accommodation. However the pandemic also allowed us to understand what roles could be delivered successfully form home or other virtual locations. Many countries experienced the rise of the digital nomad! Working Families have also carried out in depth research which highlighted that lower income families were not able to access flexible working options that were available for different demographics of the workforce. Jane outlines that the role of the office has changed forever. Why do we even need offices? Perhaps it is to enhance the ability for people to collaborate, educate and celebrate as opposed to endless meetings and zoom calls. Jane explains that one of the primary keys to success for any organisation is the ability to truly understand the each job design and define the job description with clarity so that the flexible options can be identified early on for all parties with the intent to ensure that the role can ensure the role is 'human sized.' Leaders must role model or in Jane's words 'real model' how their businesses can adapt and adopt more modern processes and practices to enhance flexible working. Jane is passionate about her work as she shares a deeply personal story of how flexible working transformed her relationship with her father. Working Families as an organisation that itself is now wholly remote and their work is helping families all across the country. This episode is a fascinating and essential insight for any leader of any sized business into the changing world of work. As organizations continue to face fierce competition for talent, HR leaders have upheld internal mobility as a lever to retain talent, yet many employees remain unaware of the career opportunities in their organization. In this episode of the Talent Angle, Helen Tupper illustrates how championing squiggly careers — or nonlinear career paths — can deliver on the promise of internal mobility by giving employees relevant and engaging opportunities. Anti-poverty advocates are proposing the Working Families Tax Credit to combine several existing tax credits into one cohesive credit aimed at helping struggling families. Supporters noted that the Earned Income Tax Credit and the Child Tax Credit have a harmful phase-in, which means that if you make very little money, if you're one of our poorest families, you actually get very little to nothing from those credits. Liza Schwartzwald, Director of Economic Justice and Family Empowerment at the New York Immigration Coalition. spoke with Mark Dunlea of Hudson Mohawk Magazine.

The U.S. Supreme Court has decided not to hear a challenge by the Green and Libertarian Parties to changes in New York State election laws that makes it virtually impossible for independent third parties to obtain official party status. In this episode, we explore the manufactured debt-ceiling crisis of June 2023. Sold to the US public as a financial emergency that required immediate action in order to avoid impending doom and "the scourge of default," we look at what the debt-ceiling negotiations actually resulted in: a giant cash giveaway to big business, the war industry, fossil fuel companies and the ruling class. While feigning the need to cut federal spending across the board, military spending and funding for fossil fuel projects actually increased, while the US government slashed the budgets of the minuscule federal food stamp program and ended student debt relief. In addition, the bipartisan debt-ceiling deal included the legislative fast-tracking some of the most protested and lethal pipelines to people and the planet. As the corporate duopoly marches in lockstep in their war on the working class, the poor, and the planet, there was almost no corporate media analysis of this phony crisis and the giant financial gift to the one-percent that resulted from these debt-ceiling negotiations, which is why we provide you with a deeper analysis here. At 2:30am last night, following a day filled with closed door discussions among GOP lawmakers, Wisconsin Republicans gutted Child Care Counts, Wisconsin's pandemic era child care subsidy program, voting to erase $340 million for the program from the governor's budget proposal. This will exacerbate the child care crisis our state was already in. Child care will become even less available and more expensive and more families will be forced to choose between working and staying home with their kids. Then Todd Allbaugh joins to answer whether or not the Republican party he was a part of was this anti-family and play the end of the week headline quiz.
It's Monday, June 12th, A.D. 2023. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Sixteen Nigerian Christians released from captivity Sixteen Nigerians Christians in the Kaduna State were released on June 4th after having been abducted on May 7, reports Christian Solidarity Worldwide. While 40 members of the Bege Baptist Church were abducted by armed Fulani Muslim militia when they attacked during the church's Sunday service, the majority managed to escape. The 16 who were just freed had remained in the hands of their captors for almost a month. Rev. John Joseph Hayab, the Kaduna State Chair of the Christian Association of Nigeria, explained that members of the local Muslim community had contributed funds towards the ransom, and had also purchased a motorcycle requested by the abductors as part of the payment. Hayab said, “We are grateful to the local Muslims who contributed towards the ransom, and pray that from now onwards the two religious communities will work together to bring this painful era of kidnapping, violence and killings to an end.” Biden broke flag protocol On Saturday, President Joe Biden broke flag protocol during the sexual perversion pride celebration at the White House, reports Christian talk show host Todd Starnes. A photograph from the event shows the Progress Homosexual Transgender Pride flag front and center — flanked by two American flags. However, flag protocol states that the U.S. flag should always be front and center. Unless, of course, the White House was sending a subtle message that the nation has a new flag. Not surprisingly, the president used the event to call for children to be medically mutilated and he also praised transgenderism. Daniel Quasar, who designed the Progress Homosexual Transgender Flag in 2018, is an animator for RuPaul's Drag Race tour. Gary Bauer blasts indictment of Donald Trump Gary Bauer, a former Reagan advisor, founder of Campaign for Working Families, and the author of the End of Day Report, had four responses to the Thursday indictment of Donald Trump on seven federal criminal counts in connection with hundreds of classified government documents he retained at his Florida home. He wrote, “First, this is yet another example of federal law enforcement agencies, meant to protect us from criminals and foreign enemies, being turned against us and employed as a weapon against half of America and Donald Trump. The purpose of this indictment is to turn the one candidate that the Biden Administration and the Left fears most into a criminal to ensure that the Left keeps power. “Second, the natural reaction to this news is to respond based on whether you like or dislike Donald Trump. That is a mistake. Our reaction should be based on whether we believe in the rule of law or whether we are willing to surrender our constitutional Republic to fascist left-wing extremists. This will be the sixth time that the Deep State has been deployed by the Democrat Party to interfere in an election.” Bauer concluded, “Third, the depth of the corruption in our federal institutions and their politicization is breathtaking. No reasonable person can believe it is merely a coincidence that just as the FBI is forced to reveal a document that finally puts the corruption charges against Biden on the front pages, Trump is suddenly indicted with predictable results. Biden's corruption is off the front page, and the charges against Trump are everywhere. “And fourth, this action reveals the Biden campaign strategy in 2024. He will hide in the White House basement while government agencies, established to protect us, are used to go after Donald Trump and conservative leaders.” Students forced to make idol & do pagan ritual in class A Lexington, Ohio public school teacher required the students in a fifth-grade class to made an idol during school hours after which the children were forced to participate in a pagan ritual, reports Frontlines Ohio. A kachina doll is a religious doll that Southwest Native Americans carve and paint to teach their kids about different Hopi spirits. They believe each spirit has special powers, such as providing food and water for the community, healing the sick, offering individual protection, and carrying dreams to Heaven. According to the handout, the students were instructed, back in February, to make the dolls in class, name them, and then describe their special spiritual powers. In fact, the lesson plan states, “These dolls were used in ceremonies to teach children about the beliefs of the tribe and the gods.” Benjamin Mutti, whose son was forced to participate in this exercise, didn't find out about any of this until a month later. Mr. Mutti and his wife, who are Messianic Jews, believe the assignment violated the Second Commandment, found in Exodus 20:4, which proclaims, “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the Earth beneath, or that is in the water under the Earth.” The American Center for Law & Justice, which is representing the Muttis, noted that the school did not give any parents the ability to opt their child out of the class. In addition, the attorney said, “No Christian should ever be forced to participate in idol worship in a public school.” 107-year-old woman's secret: Live by the Golden Rule And finally, one in every 5,000 people in America makes it to the ripe old age of 100. And 85% of them are women. A week ago Friday, Julia Mae Hunter-Rice celebrated her 107th birthday in Meridian, Mississippi. Born on June 2, 1916, she enjoyed the day surrounded by her close friends and family. In addition to eating a burger and indulging in cake, she danced as her loved ones sang happy birthday. Her daughter, Dorthy Dickson, revealed her secret to longevity to WTOK-TV. DICKSON: “She always stood for that which is right.” Her other daughter, Anabelle, said she has lived by the motto: treat people the way you would want to be treated. That comes straight out of the Bible. In Matthew 7:12, Jesus said, “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.” Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Monday, June 12th in the year of our Lord 2023.
