Illinois Governor JB Pritzker didn't hold back at the New Hampshire Democratic Party's McIntyre-Shaheen Dinner — blasting “do-nothing Democrats” and urging the party to get aggressive against GOP extremism.
Here are 3 big things you need to know— One — Ukraine and the U.S. have signed a minerals agreement. It comes almost two months after a White House meeting between Presidents Trump and Zelenskyy derailed talks on the deal. Zelenskyy has declined to sign the previous proposals of the deal, which requires Ukraine to relinquish a share of its future oil, gas and mineral revenues. Two --- Ford is extending its "employee pricing" sale until July 4th. CEO Jim Farley announced the extension on Wednesday. The automaker is trying to encourage sales to consumers nervous about rising prices because of new tariffs on imported cars and auto parts. And number three — If you haven't been following the exploits of Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, well, we're going to get you up to speed this morning. The Democrat billionaire is likely to run for President in 2028 and he's cozying up to the AOC wing of the party. We'll from Pritzker in just a few moments.
In this episode, I speak with Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, one of the depressingly few Democratic leaders showing real fight in the face of Trumpism. We get into the weeds on how Illinois is defending its climate laws, advancing clean energy and manufacturing, and tackling thorny challenges like the housing crisis, the transition away from natural gas, and the looming “fiscal cliff” facing transit agencies. Oh, and the governor explains what quantum computing is. This is a public episode. If you'd like to discuss this with other subscribers or get access to bonus episodes, visit www.volts.wtf/subscribe

Charles C. W. Cooke, senior writer at National Review and host of The Charles C. W. Cooke Podcast, joined The Guy Benson Show to react to Illinois Governor JB Pritzker's aggressive remarks about Republicans. Cooke explained why this kind of rhetoric undermines any effort to seriously counter Trump's political dominance from the Democrats. Benson and Cooke also discussed new polling showing Trump slipping on economic approval nearly 100 days into his second term, and the Democrats' tendency to elevate deeply flawed figures as heroes of their movement. Cooke also discussed his skepticism toward Trump's proposed tax overhaul, which would eliminate all income taxes for those earning under $200k, funded entirely by tariffs. Illinois Governor JB Pritzker delivered a barn burner of a speech in Manchester, NH yesterday in which he spoke the truth about all we're facing right now, and made me hope he runs for president in 2028. He made a lot of great points, and I'll share some of them on today's show. But it was his call for mass protests and mobilization to get us to that point that I want to focus on.Last weekend at protest march at the Arizona state capitol in Phoenix I was impressed by one of the women who appeared to be leading the rally. Before the march began I introduced myself to Erica, also known as Weird Violet, who is an Arizona state liason to 50501, and has stepped up to be one of the many grassroots organizers pulling some of these events together. With the next big nationwide day of protest planned for this Thursday, May 1, I invited Erica to join me on today's show to talk about all of it. We all must do what we can. It's how we'll survive this mess and move past the worst part of history in my lifetime...
TALK TO ME, TEXT ITThe sun is shining brightly in Alabama as we unpack three newsworthy stories that showcase the bizarre juxtaposition of our current reality.First, an astonishing military mishap in the Red Sea where a $56 million F-18E Super Hornet fighter jet slipped off the USS Harry S Truman aircraft carrier and plunged into the waters below. The incident occurred when the carrier executed a sudden turn, potentially to evade Houthi rebel fire, causing both the jet and the towing vehicle to slide overboard. Thankfully, crew members escaped unharmed, but the expensive warplane now sits at the bottom of the sea—representing a significant and costly loss for the Navy. The story raises fascinating questions about military protocols during high-tension situations and the financial consequences of such accidents.Moving to the political arena, we examine Illinois Governor JB Pritzker's alarming rhetoric calling for citizens to "mobilize" against President Trump. During an MSNBC interview, Pritzker doubled down on inflammatory language, declaring "Republicans cannot know a moment of peace" and drawing inappropriate comparisons between Trump's administration and Nazi Germany. The governor's call for "mass protest, mobilization, and disruption" without substantive policy criticisms appears deliberately inflammatory and potentially dangerous in our already divided nation. We break down why such extreme language undermines constructive political discourse and serves no productive purpose beyond inflaming tensions.Ending on a more hopeful note, Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred revealed discussions with President Trump regarding Pete Rose's permanent ban from baseball. Following Rose's death in September, there's renewed interest in potentially removing the career hits leader from MLB's ineligible list, which could posthumously restore his legacy. Interestingly, Manfred also expressed concerns about how immigration policies might impact international players from countries like Cuba and Venezuela, highlighting the complex intersection of sports, politics, and international relations. What's your take on these stories? Who do you consider the greatest baseball player of all time? You're Listening to Parallax Views https://parallaxviews.podbean.com/ Support the Show on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/parallaxviews On this edition of Parallax Views, Arno Rosenfeld, a reporter for one of America's most prominent Jewish publications, The Forward, joins the show to discuss his reporting on the right-wing, conservative think tank The Heritage's Foundation's Project Esther. Laid out as a plan to combat antisemitism, some have noticed the Project Esther seems to promote a conspiracy theory around the causes of antisemitism that is itself pulling from antisemitic conspiracy tropes. According to Project Esther, pro-Palestinian activism and antisemitism is the result of a "Hamas Support Network". In a PowerPoint presentation Project Esther point towards Jewish figures like billionaire George Soros and Illinois Governor JB Pritzker as the "masterminds" of cabal fueling antisemitism today. Beyond the conspiratorial nature of this claim and the fact that it's arguably promoting an antisemitic conspiracy theory itself, Rosenfeld has reported on how the Heritage Foundation's approach to combatting antisemitism differs from that of Jewish institutions and discusses how American Jewish institutions have been wary to endorse the Heritage Foundation project. These are Rosenfeld's reports on Project Esther: "Project Esther docs describe conspiracy of Jewish ‘masterminds'" "Scoop: Heritage Foundation plans to ‘identify and target' Wikipedia editors – The Forward" We will discuss the second article mentioned above and the concerns that the Heritage Foundation's plans of targeting Wikipedia editors has raised. Additionally, Arno and I will delve into the fault lines that exist in American Jewish political life today. This will make up the second half of our conversation and delves into the differences between legacy American Jewish institutions (what Jewish journalists like Rosenfeld and JTA's Ron Kampeas have called the American Jewish Establishment) and American Jews as a whole. This leads to a discussion of how American Jews are not a monolith. We will also discuss the impact of newer, counter-institutions like J Street on American Jewish political life, divisions in the American Jewish community over how to fight antisemitism, and much, much more.

Dimitri and Khalid open the seventh installment of their CONTRA series with a discussion about billionaire Illinois Governor JB Pritzker and the coterie of dirtbag socialist influencers on social media who, earlier this summer, suddenly started ("as a bit") championing Pritzker as the ideal “Big Boy” dark horse candidate for President in 2024. After an hour of slandering “our generation's FDR”, Dimitri and Khalid proceed to tackle the main subject of CONTRA VII: a mostly forgotten financial institution in the Bahamas known as the Castle Bank and Trust, which served as a nexus point for the nefarious activities of the Mafia, CIA, and American silk toppers (chief among them the Pritzkers) in the 1970s.

Special #MakeHerstory edition of #VoteHerIn, a collaboration of Two Broads Talking Politics & author Rebecca SiveWith Illinois Deputy Gov Sol A. Flores and strategist Alex Sims.Sol Flores serves as deputy governor in Illinois Governor JB Pritzker's administration overseeing Health and Human Services since February 2019. As Deputy Governor, she helped oversee the administration's response to COVID-19, including housing relief and vaccination efforts. Additionally, Flores spearheads the administration's efforts around poverty alleviation, hunger relief, expanding healthcare access to all, and strengthening the state's safety nets for its most vulnerable residents. She was the founding executive director of La Casa Norte, a non-profit organization established in 2002 that has served more than 30,000 youth and families confronting homelessness. She is a tireless advocate, having served on numerous working groups, commissions, and nonprofit boards. Flores was raised by a single mother who came to Chicago from Puerto Rico, who was recognized as a national Champion of Change by President Barack Obama.Alexandra (Alex) P. Sims believes that one's birthplace and economic status shouldn't negatively affect one's life journey, and her career has taught her that real change is brought about when there is synergy, empathy, and aligned purposes among all public affairs sectors: business, government, philanthropy, and grassroots organizing. Alex came to Chicago from metro Detroit to attend Northwestern University. Awarded the prestigious CORO Fellowship, Alex was assigned by the CORO program to serve in the St. Louis, Missouri area. While Senior Advisor to the City of Chicago Treasurer, she launched an aggressive and strategic agenda of financial equity and access. Now, founder and CEO of APS and Associates, she counsels numerous clients, including The Obama Foundation and Illinois Governor JB Pritzker. Both Sol and Alex are graduates of the women in public leadership initiative created by Rebecca Sive for the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy.

After several extensions of the state's eviction moratorium, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker issued an executive order last Friday that allows eviction filings to begin on August 1. Both the state and city have available rental assistance, and housing advocates are doing their part, too. Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago expects close to 100,000 applications for some help. And while that program has been traditionally been focused on homeowners, they're helping renters and small unit landlords because they say evictions on this scale will harm the entire housing system in Chicago. We talk to NHS about what services are available for those who could be facing houselessness.
