Te libera a ti.

Today I want to talk to you about something that has deeply shaped my life: the invisible discipline behind everything that once seemed impossible. In this new podcast episode, I share real stories of people who chose to keep going when nobody believed in them. People who kept showing up when all they heard was silence. People who held on to their vision even when there was no evidence things would work out.I talk about a friend of mine who got into Calvin Klein because she refused to give up. About the extraordinary Immaculée Ilibagiza, who survived the Rwandan genocide sustained only by faith. And about Michael Jackson, a man who turned obsession with excellence into history. And yes… I also talk about myself. About those moments when I questioned whether I truly belonged in certain rooms, certain spaces, certain dreams. But I learned something powerful: success does not arrive overnight. It arrives when your persistence becomes stronger than your doubts. If you feel like you are planting seeds and still cannot see the fruit, this episode is for you. Because there are moments in life when persistence is not just an option… it is the only strategy. I want this episode to remind you of something important: keep going. Even when nobody sees it yet. Even when it feels slow. Even when it hurts. Because many times, the impossible simply needs someone who refuses to quit.I'll see you in this very special episode. And always remember: the one who keeps going, wins.

Swamiji shares Krishna's wisdom on how to face life's most painful moments—times when suffering, fear, and anger can overwhelm the heart. Through the powerful real-life story of Immaculée Ilibagiza, a survivor of the Rwandan Genocide, he illustrates how faith and forgiveness can transform even the deepest wounds.  Drawing from the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita, Swamiji explains that holding onto hatred binds the heart in suffering, while forgiveness frees the soul. True strength lies not in revenge, but in choosing compassion, devotion, and inner peace.  This inspiring message reminds us that even when life breaks us, turning to God and embracing forgiveness can transform pain into spiritual strength and healing.  About Swami Mukundananda:    Swami Mukundananda is a renowned spiritual leader, Vedic scholar, Bhakti saint, best‑selling author, and an international authority on the subject of mind management.   In this opening episode, Swamiji explores how genuine forgiveness dissolves inner poison and restores faith, drawing from Sri Krishna's teachings for practical, everyday transformation. The theme centers on choosing healing over hatred and embracing devotion as a pathway to inner freedom.   Through the powerful story of Immaculée Ilibagiza—a survivor of the Rwanda genocide—Swamiji narrates her 91-day ordeal in hiding, her battle with rage, and her turning to prayer to seek the strength to forgive. When she finally faced the man who killed her family, she saw not a monster but a blind soul, and forgave him “in the name of God,” embodying compassion over vengeance.   Swamiji connects this to Bhagavad Gita 11.55, explaining that exclusive devotees are without malice and see the Lord present in all beings; thus they forgive even those who harmed them. He shows how forgiveness is not the end of justice but the beginning of freedom—a bridge from hurt to healing that releases us from resentment and aligns our hearts with Krishna, cultivating peace, bhakti, and spiritual growth in daily life.   About Swami Mukundananda:   Swami Mukundananda is a renowned spiritual leader, Vedic scholar, Bhakti saint, best‑selling author, and an international authority on the subject of mind management. He is the founder of the unique yogic system called JKYog. Swamiji holds distinguished degrees in Engineering and Management from two of India's most prestigious institutions—IIT and IIM. Having taken the renounced order of life (sanyas), he is the senior disciple of Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj, and has been sharing Vedic wisdom across the globe for decades.

Plugged In - The Official Podcast for JSerra Catholic High School

Immaculée Ilibagiza endured an unimaginable horror that few survive and, quite literally, from which few who do actually recover. In her case, through the grace of God, she not only overcame the rage she felt for those who killed her family and villagers, she forgave them. In this candid podcast, she speaks practically about what is perhaps Christianity's most compelling –and seemingly most impossible—task: to love our neighbors and even our enemies. Join Immaculée as she articulates with profound compassion the steps required for us as followers of Christ to love those who harm us and to forgive those hate us. As she will tell us, it is the secret to both freedom and inner peace. About Immaculée: Immaculée Ilibagiza survived the 1994 Rwandan genocide by hiding in a 3ft. x 4ft. bathroom for 91 days with seven other women. Enduring fear, anger, despair, and near starvation, she was filled with hatred knowing her family, community, and nearly one million of her tribe were being slaughtered.  Remarkably, those 91 days became a school of prayer and love as she meditated on the words of the Our Father, "… as we forgive those who trespass against us." While in that tiny bathroom her relationship with Jesus Christ grew and her vengefulness was transformed into forgiveness. Immaculee now travels the world sharing her story and healing the hearts of those struggling with fear, doubt, and hatred, and leading them to the peace, freedom, and joy of forgiving our enemies. Her autobiography, Left to Tell, has sold more than two million copies and is in the process of becoming a major motion picture.

After surviving the horrors of the Congolese genocide, Jolie's faith was pushed to its breaking point, but God's healing power proved stronger than her pain. Now serving in refugee resourcing, Jolie works alongside people from the very tribe that once sought to destroy her. Her ability to love her former enemies is a triumph of the gospel, a powerful reminder that nothing is too hard for God (Jeremiah 32:17) and nothing is impossible with Him (Luke 1:37). It's the end of an era. After five years, Father Dave and Deacon Bob gather for the very last episode of They That Hope. True to form, the conversation blends laughter, sorrow, and a steady focus on Christ.  The guys begin with one last round of sports heartbreak (Notre Dame, Broncos, and a Buccaneers game that hasn't quite happened yet), plus Deacon Bob's double-dose weekend of Weird Al concerts.   Then they shift to reflect on the tragic shooting of Charlie Kirk. They wrestle with grief and division, recognizing how fragile life feels, and wonder aloud how silencing faith-filled voices only deepens the darkness. Their reflection reminds listeners that vengeance belongs to the Lord, and that true hope is found in forgiveness, mercy, and the power of the Holy Spirit.   Finally, they wrap up by sharing heartfelt listener letters, favorite memories from the past five years, and their gratitude for everyone who joined them at the “podcast table.” As they sign off with blessings and thanksgiving, Father Dave and Deacon Bob leave us with the reminder that hope does not disappoint—because the love of God has been poured into our hearts.  Highlighted Sections  (00:00) A Final Episode Begins  Father Dave and Deacon Bob kick off their last recording with gratitude and laughter. The bittersweet tone is lightened by jokes about Notre Dame football and whether ending the podcast jinxed their favorite teams. It's a familiar start for a farewell filled with humor and heartfelt reflection.  (03:47) Weird Al, Walk-On Songs, and Family Fun  Deacon Bob shares his weekend of back-to-back Weird Al concerts, complete with Stormtroopers, “Amish Paradise,” and plenty of costume changes. The story turns tender as he recalls memories of singing parodies with his kids, now grown. Father Dave teases along the way, but it's clear these goofy songs carry a deep family legacy.  (12:39) Grief and Division After Charlie Kirk's Shooting  They then turn to recent news: the shooting of Charlie Kirk. They talk about his willingness to engage in dialogue, how violence eats away at our sense of safety and unity, and how we sometimes silence or dismiss voices that carry hope for fear of disagreement. Despite the pain this brings, they look for grounding in Scripture—especially the call to love even our enemies as part of the Christian witness.  (22:08) Forgiveness, Mercy, and Real Hope   Building on the previous reflection, Father Dave and Deacon Bob draw from Deacon Bob's homily and the testimony of Immaculée Ilibagiza to explore what it means to respond in a Christ-like way. In times when the world feels fractured, mercy and forgiveness become the clearest sign of that hope we proclaim.  (35:44) Listener Letters, Thank-Yous, and Final Blessing  Fans write in to share how the podcast shaped their faith, lightened their burdens, and even sparked personal transformation. Father Dave and Deacon Bob laugh through memories, thank their families and the Franciscan University team, and offer one last blessing. They end as they began five years ago—reminding us that hope does not disappoint, because God is faithful.    Resources Mentioned  “The Saga Begins” by Weird Al Yankovic – Bob's family favorite parody  Left to Tell: Discovering God Amidst the Rwandan Holocaust by Immaculée Ilibagiza  “The Light Shines In The Darkness” – Father Dave's recent Daily Wire op-ed reflecting on Charlie Kirk  FaithAndReason.com – ongoing Catholic resources from Franciscan University of Steubenville

Immaculée Ilibagiza followed her father's instructions and ran to her neighbor's house to hide at the start of the Rwandan genocide. She spent the next three months huddled in a tiny bathroom with seven other women, while extremist members of another tribe tried to find and kill them.  It was in this bathroom that Immaculée gave her heart to God and began to pray in a way she never had before—as she recited the words of the Rosary, peace veiled and healed her from the anger and fear that otherwise consumed her.   When Immaculée finally left the bathroom at the end of the genocide, she learned that her parents, grandparents, siblings, 950 schoolmates and so many more had been murdered. While Immaculée cried out for her loved ones, she sensed God holding her tight and telling her that her journey on Earth was not over. While her family was in heaven, she still had a mission. Since that moment thirty years ago, Immaculée continues to wake up every day and ask the same question that echoed in her heart so long ago: How much can you love with what God has given you? In this Easter podcast, learn that love is everything.

How large is your capacity for forgiveness? Author and motivational speaker Immaculée Ilibagiza grew up in a small village in Rwanda, Africa. With her loving parents and three brothers, Immaculée excelled in school and eventually went on to study electrical and mechanical engineering at the National University of Rwanda. However, her life took a dramatic turn in 1994.  On April 6 of that year, the assassination of the Rwandan President ignited months of massacres targeting Tutsi tribe members across the country. To protect his daughter from rape and murder, Immaculée's father instructed her to seek refuge at a local pastor's house. There, she hid with seven other women in a cramped 3 x 4-foot bathroom for the next 91 days. Amidst the genocide raging outside, Immaculée battled anger and resentment, which threatened to consume her mind, body, and spirit. It was in this desperate state that she turned to prayer, clutching a set of rosary beads her father had given her. Through prayer and faith, she found the strength to resist hate, even using this dark time to teach herself English using only a Bible and a dictionary.  Emerging from her hiding place after 91 days, Immaculée faced a harrowing reality—her entire family, except for one brother studying abroad, had been brutally murdered. She also discovered the massacre of nearly one million extended family members, friends, neighbors, and fellow Rwandans. Despite unimaginable suffering, Immaculée shocked the world by forgiving the man who had killed her mother and brother.  Immaculée Ilibagiza's story offers profound insights and actionable steps to strengthen emotional resilience, release burdens through forgiveness, and contribute to a greater shift in collective consciousness. To share Immaculée's message of healing and forgiveness, Sage and Tony Robbins are honored to present this powerful moment from a private event with their Platinum Partners in Mexico.
