Edwin calls us about a girl named Marsha that he matched with on Bumble. He describes her as amazing: a super cute girl, very kind, and sweet. He takes her to eat at Instabul for some Mediterranean food — something different for a special girl. It was both their first time there and they enjoy a mix of different dishes. Their conversations are fun and light, so it was safe for him to assume that everything was going well. LA CORTE EUROPEA GLI DA' RAGIONE di Luca VolontéIl caso risale addirittura al 2014, quando una pasticceria di Belfast, la capitale dell'Irlanda del Nord, si rifiutò di fare una torta con uno slogan in favore delle nozze gay e per questo, un anno dopo, i proprietari furono in un primo momento condannati dal Tribunale della città con l'accusa di "aperta discriminazione" e poi assolti, cominciando un iter legale infinito tra continui processi e richieste di appello.Ora, finalmente, la vicenda ha avuto la sua - fortunatamente positiva - conclusione con la decisione della Corte Europea dei Diritti dell'Uomo che ha ritenuto irricevibile il ricorso proposto dall'interessato, l'attivista per i diritti gay Gareth Lee, che aveva commissionato la torta. Nella Convenzione il termine genere indica la manifestazione sociale del sesso. Da qui l'esigenza di chiarire l'accezione del termine "sesso". From Basilica to Cathedral to Mosque to Museum, this episode’s monument spans across 1,600 years, multiple empires, and centuries upon centuries of dedicated engineers and architects keeping it in proper repair: The Hagia SofiaIn the city that today is known as Istanbul, the first iteration of the Hagia Sofia was built in 360AD, at a time when the city was still known as Byzantium. Constructed out of wood, it was burned to the ground during riots, then rebuilt once again out of wood in 415AD only to be once again burned during riots. Then in 537AD under Eastern Roman Emperor Justinian I, and supervised by engineer Anthemius of Tralles the Hagia Sofia was rebuilt out of stone, and has stood to this day.Under the Eastern Roman Empire, each new Emperor would add to, repair or extend the Hagia Sofia, up until the 13th century when the city and the Hagia Sofia itself were looted by the Venetian Crusaders. All the gold and silver were stripped from the building and it would be converted in purpose from a Byzantine Orthodox Basilica to a Roman Catholic Cathedral as the city changed from Byzantium to Constantinople. The now Cathedral would change hands again when Constantinople was conquered by Mehmed II and renamed to Istanbul, this time changing from a Catholic Cathedral to an Islamic Mosque. Under Mehmed II additions would be made such as wooden minarets, it’s famous giant chandelier, and some additional parts to facilitate Islamic prayer traditions. Painting of Jesus and other Christian iconography was covered with plaster rather than removed or destroyed, which allowed for these icons to later be restored prior to the Turkish president secularizing the building in 1934 and turning it into a Museum. ‘Skyfall’ directed by the super talented Sam Mendes gives us a very different James Bond. Yes, he’s still the charismatic, super macho male that loves sex, hot women, hot cars, gambling and kicking butt. But this time around, he’s also vulnerable, slightly worn out and much more human. And that’s what makes this film one of the best of the Bond’s. Don’t want to spoil the fun, so I’ll just talk about the plot with broad strokes. The film begins in Instabul where Bond (Daniel Craig) finds fellow MI6 agent Ronson, critically wounded and the hard drive of a laptop missing. Bond goes after the thief, hitman, Patrice (Ola Rapace) and we have the standard exciting car chase, motorbike chase and finally the two men wind up fighting on the top of a moving train. At the same time, fellow spy, Eve (Naomie Harris) who has the bad guy in the cross hairs is ordered by M (Judi Dench) to take the shot. Eve doesn’t want to for fear of hitting Bond. But M is adamant…TAKE THE SHOT. She does…hits Bond who falls into a raging river. That’s right folks, Bond is dead…Well not really, but everyone thinks he is. And James likes it like that. Why shouldn’t he. He’s on an island somewhere in bed with a hot babe. However when he finds out that there’s been an explosion at headquarters, he decides it’s time for him to resurface. And it’s a good thing too. Seems the Chairman of the Intelligence and Security Committee, Gareth Mallory (Ralph Fiennes) has informed M that the stolen computer disc contained the list of every undercover NATO agent embeded in terrorist organizations around the world and they are being killed.. He tells her that she showed poor judgement in handling the situation and it’s time for her to retire. Yeah, like that’s going to happen. ‘Skyfall’ is basically a film about revenge. And no one does revenge better than Javier Bardem. He’s absolutely fantastic as Raoul Silva the man determined to bring down M and her organization. Rounding out the cast is Albert Finney, Ben Whishaw as Q and Berenice Marloe. ‘Skyfall’ which opens Friday November 9, 2012, written by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and John Logan is an intelligent, exciting and in the end, surprising film that won’t disappoint fans or those new to the genre.
