Bluefield Partners managing partner James Armstrong talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the latest performance and future outlook for the Bluefield Solar Income Fund (LSE:BSIF). Releasing results for the year to 30 June, 2024, Armstrong highlighted that despite facing some headwinds, including lower radiation levels and a slight dip in production, the fund successfully delivered an 8.8 pence per share dividend, which is one of the highest in the infrastructure sector. This translates to a dividend yield of around 8.3%, a highly attractive return for shareholders. Armstrong emphasised the fund's proprietary pipeline of 1.5GW of solar assets, with 800MW ready to build. He also discussed the strategic importance of Bluefield Solar's partnership with GLIL and their ongoing focus on capital allocation through share buybacks and reducing revolving credit. Furthermore, the fund's ESG initiatives were spotlighted, having generated renewable energy sufficient to power 300,000 UK homes in the last year. "The most pleasing thing for us was that we have executed what we agreed with our shareholders, creating liquidity and preparing for future growth," Armstrong said. Bluefield Partners managing partner, James Armstrong, discusses the Bluefield Solar Income Fund (LSE:BSIF) executing phase two of its strategic partnership with GLIL with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion. Armstrong noted that he partnership with GLIL, one of the largest direct investors in the local authority pension space, is pivotal for Bluefield Solar Income Fund. Armstrong elaborated on the three-phase partnership, which began before Christmas with the acquisition of Light Source bp assets. Phase two, involves GLIL acquiring 50% of a portfolio initially fully owned by Bluefield Solar Income Fund. Armstrong highlighted this as a key landmark deal that validates Bluefield's net asset value (NAV), creates liquidity, and sets the stage for the final phase: co-developing new solar assets with GLIL. He detailed that the proceeds from phase two will primarily be used to pay down Bluefield's revolving credit facility, with a portion allocated to developing 17MW of new solar assets. Despite being a small part of their overall 1.5GW development pipeline, these assets mark an important step in their partnership with GLIL. Armstrong also reiterated Bluefield's confidence in their financial position, announcing a full-year dividend of not less than 8.8 pence per share, supported by high levels of index-linked regulated revenues and a stable asset base. Bluefield Partners managing partner James Armstrong discusses the Bluefield Solar Income Fund's financial performance with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion. In the quarter to 31 March, 2024, the Fund showed resilience, with NAV dropping only slightly due to effective power hedging strategies against fluctuating power prices. The income strategy, which has been consistent since its IPO 11 years ago, includes a significant percentage of power sales hedged for 2024 and 2025, maintaining an income product with a prospective yield of over 8% for shareholders. Armstrong highlighted the Fund's shareholder strategies, including a share buyback program, which bought back 2.45 million shares in March and continues towards a target of £20 million. Despite a 20% discount to net asset value, the Fund reported the strongest financial performance in over a decade, attributed to strategic management and market conditions. Additionally, Armstrong detailed a strategic partnership with GLIL Infrastructure, signaling a long-term commitment to infrastructure investments and asset management aimed at boosting liquidity and reducing company debt. #BluefieldPartners, #SolarIncomeFund, #JamesArmstrong, #FinancialPerformance, #QuarterlyUpdate, #PowerHedges, #InvestmentStrategy, #ShareholderValue, #DividendYield, #NAV, #ShareBuyback, #InfrastructureInvestment, #RenewableEnergy, #UtilityFunds, #MarketConditions, #InvestorRelations, #StrategicPartnership, #GloPartnership, #EnergySector, #BluefieldSolar #ProactiveInvestors #invest #investing #investment #investor #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews

Michelle Wegler of Duluth recommends seeing the exhibit of fellow plein air painter Cheryl LeClaire-Sommer. Her current show, “Scents to Scenes: A Project Space Exhibition” consists of oil paintings of landscapes inspired by scent. LeClaire-Sommer used essential oils to inspire her choice of location for each painting. Balsam or cedar scents, for example, might lead her to paint a cedar grove. The oil paintings, created from locations across Minnesota specifically for this show, range from 8x10 to larger pieces, which she finished in-studio. Both the studies and larger pieces are on view, along with the essential oils that inspired each project. Wegler says that you stop and look at a painting in a new way after sniffing the accompanying oil. (Saturday, March 2 is a scent-free day from noon to 4.) Her work is on view at the Kohlman & Reeb Gallery in northeast Minneapolis through March 23, with an artist talk on March 7 at 7 p.m.  LeClaire-Sommer also has an exhibit at the Plein Air Collective at the Bell Museum in Roseville through May 26. Singer/songwriter/troubadour Larry Long of Minneapolis recommends “DO NOT FORGET US: Poets, Writers, Musicians Against the War (s) on the Earth.” The event was organized by poet James Lenfestey and is described as “a remembrance in words and music of the victims of wars on the creatures of Mother Earth, and of the activist legacy of Robert and Ruth Bly.”Participants will include James Armstrong, an award-winning poet and naturalist from Winona; Sarina Partridge, a community song circle leader; and soul singer Robert Robinson, among many others. There will also be a special presentation of poems by Robert Bly.The event will take place Thursday at the American Swedish Institute in Minneapolis at 7 p.m. Jeanne Farrar of Minneapolis has seen several shows by The Gilbert & Sullivan Very Light Opera Company in Minneapolis, and she's looking forward to seeing “Utopia, Limited; or, The Flowers of Progress” this month. One of Gilbert and Sullivan's lesser-known works, the operetta is a political satire. A British ship has arrived at the remote island “Utopia,” and its king has earnestly undertaken to emulate all things British. His Cambridge-educated daughter has just returned and is trying to help her father reform the nation's government. Meanwhile, the king's unscrupulous wise men are out to enrich themselves. As the characters and situation grow increasingly absurd, the show serves up its satirical bite with a dose of sweetness with its loveable — or at least laughable — characters. Farrar notes that Gilbert and Sullivan “are really good at making fun of pretentious manners and mores, incompetence in powerful positions and the slavish adherence to a rule or philosophy to the point of absurd.” The company has revised “Utopia, Limited” for a modern audience; read more about those efforts here.  Performances will be at the Conn Theater at Plymouth Congregational Church in Minneapolis March 1 – 24.

This week joining Hassan is Cypography's superstar cameraman  Richard Stewart. Not only is he one of the very best videographers in the game and a connoisseur of carp fishing history but he's a man who's own fishing has been kept relatively quiet until now!Rich talks about his own fishing starting with his humble beginnings in the north west where he was taught to fish by “Bill”: a gentleman who was a member of the not commonly known about ultra carpy “Golden Scale Club” founded by Chris Yates. He moves on to talk about special venues which he fished as he moved through his University years. The thirst for carp fishing history was already a huge point of interest for Richard and this has never left him to this day, making him one of the most knowledgeable “carp fishing geeks” (in his own words) to date.Moving on to the start of his career in the industry and Rich talks about his years at DHP in the glory years of Total Carp magazine and Advanced Carp magazine which he went on to become Editor of. During this time Rich talks about many found memories including features with the like of Steve Renyard, James Armstrong, Elliot Grey and Jim Shelley. This section rounds of with him taking about a few significant captures whilst managing to flick the rods out during features and how this led to his work with Korda and then in more recent times Cypography with Elliot.Rich talks about his own angling and his choice of carp that he angles for. A lot of his fishing has been based around no publicity waters where he can fish in the essence of what carp fishing is for him personally. Rich talks about how his own life and family priorities gives him one night a week to target these waters which hold very special carp. There's a brief talk about rigs and general thoughts about the modern day carp fishing scene and where its heading. The final section of the podcast Rich talks openly about Cypography and how in an increasingly busy marketplace what the future holds for him. From the start of Cypography and his decision to go it alone through to what particular parts he has enjoyed the most. He has been fortunate to work with some of the real icons, characters and seen some of the finest fish in the land in the flesh. One thing is for sure Rich is a man with an incredibly creative and intellectual mind who is a wealth of information. He very much lives and works on his terms and has reached the top of his game by following his nose and reacting to things, working hard and letting his talent speak for itself. There is an incredible depth to Richard and often he's chosen to keep a lot of this in the shadows behind the camera, I'm sure you'll enjoy this rare look into the man that is Richard Stewart and what makes him tick

Un mot qui incarnait, à son origine, une lutte contre l'injustice. All across America drivers are talking about wether they will get the "jab" of not. Some say they will but many have a problem with being told they have to. A noticeable amount of doctors, nurses, EMS workers and health care workers are refusing the jab because of concerns that they may not be safe or effective, according to a survey by Surgo Ventures, a non-profit group focused on solving health and social problems. So if doctors and medical field people are afraid of the shot, then shouldn't the rest of us be concerned? People across the country including truckers, are saying they will quit their job before they are forced to receive the vaccine. Trucker Claims Self Defense after shooting a man in WV. The end of a year is a popular moment to release a (label) compilation. Sometimes to look back, sometimes to look ahead.... and sometimes just because it's compilation time. Here's an (incomplete!) overview of some recent compilations presenting hours (and more hours) of listening pleasure. VARIOUS ARTISTS - ILLUMINATIONS II Dronarivm kicks off with this New Year Charity Compilation. No less than 30 track and almost three hours of music, priced ridiculously low to begin with... but of course you will want to pay more because of the amount of music, ánd because the profits go to 4Paws for Ability, an organisation that 'enriches the lives of children with disabilities by training and placing quality, task-trained service dogs.' (You can also donate directly of course, but why would you when you're offered a batch of quality music in the process?) The thirty artists presented here show why Dronarivm has become one of the most important labels in the ambient/experimental electronic genre. It's an impressive array of which I will only mention a few names: Aaron Martin, Bruno Sanfilippo, Loscil, Jacaszek, Machinefabriek, Endless Melancholy, Legiac, Offthesky, Olan Mill, Sven Laux, Anne Chris Bakker, Antonymes, Giulio Aldinucci, Pleq, Hakobune, Pausal Chihei Hatakeyama. And that are just 17/30. Even more impressive is the fact that all these tracks are exclusive - they have not appeared on earlier releases before. So this is what we call a 'no-brainer'! If you missed the first (2017) edition of Illuminations with another 28 tracks, you can still download it. It is a Name-Your Price release, but I strongly suggest to double your donation for Illuminations II. Simply because. Illuminations II (The New Year 2018 charity compilation) by Various Artists VARIOUS ARTISTS - FROM HERE TO TRANQUILITY, VOL. 8: THE DARKENED PATH On a somewhat darker note, we find #8 in the From Here To Tranquility series on Silent Records, curated and founded by Kim Cascone. Not specifically an end-of-year release, by the way, but edition 8 in the From Here To Tranquility series. This edition 'addresses the pervasive darkness we find in the world today', and does so with 80 minutes of contemplative soundscapes with a retro-touch by Scott Gibbons, Kris Force, Chris Meloche, Dead Voices on Air, Michal Seta, Pragma, David Metcalfe, Legion Of Green Men, Aume, Meterpool, Mike Rooke and David Lee Myers. Not the most familiar names perhaps, and the music can be quite different in nature (a quiet atmospheric field recording track by Chris Meloche can easily be followed by a rather aggressive noise track from Dead Voices on Air), but you can simply count on Kim Cascone's experience in selecting quality sounds. From Here to Tranquility - Volume 8 (the darkened path) by Various Artists VARIOUS ARTISTS - STEEL - DRAGON'S EYE TWELFTH ANNIVERSARY Not exactly a year-in-retrospect compilation, but an album to celebrate the twelve years of existence since Yann Novak relaunched his father's record label Dragon's Eye Recordings. The 'steel' in the title is 'named after the traditional eleventh anniversary gift (due to miscalculation and a love for the cover art by Jake Muir)'. A 'variety of styles, processes, practices, techniques, and most importantly points of view' is presented in this Name-Your-Price download featuring unreleased tracks by artists that recently released work on the label. Such as: Steve Pacheco, Tobias Hellkvist, Robert Crouch, Yann Novak, Jake Muir, Fabio Perletta, Geneva Skeen, Mark Kate and wndfrm. 78 Minutes of sheer minimalist joy. Steel: Dragon's Eye Twelfth Anniversary by Various Artists VARIOUS ARTISTS - RUSTED TONE SAMPLER I Rusted Tone Recordings does not look back to 2017 because it did not exist in 2017. It is a new independent label, curated by James Armstrong, 'specialising in ambient, drone and experimental music'. Judged by this introduction sampler the label will definitely be worth keeping an eye on: it introduces artists that will be releasing albums on Rusted Tone in the coming year. Think: Darren Harper, James Osland, Wil Bolton, Green Kingdom, Spheruleus - along less familiar names like Gallery Six & Oblivia, Net, Kepier Widow, Saltings and Kevin Buchland. Suffices to say this introduction succeeds in raising interest for the label! This, too, is a Name-Your-Price download if you want. But please keep in mind that proceeds 'will go towards supporting physical releases and sustaining Rusted Tone Recordings.' Rusted Tone Recordings: Sampler Vol. 1 by Various Artists VARIOUS ARTISTS - GRENZWELLEN I A somewhat different beast (and with that I mean considerably less ambient) is this massive compilation supporting the German radio show Grenzwellen, hosted by Ecki Stieg and broadcasted on Radio Hannover. Grenzwellen started in 1987 so it exists for more than thirty years now! It can be heard every wednesday for three hours starting at 9 pm CET via the Radio Hannover livestream. But even if you can't listen to their show this compilation is a great introduction to the music that can be heard on this show. Almost 4 hours of all kinds of experimental/electronic music in a mix of well- and lesser-known artist. I won't mention them all, but here are just a few of the names that I recognise: Giulio Aldinucci, Gabi Delgado, Ulrich Schnauss, CEEYS, Marsen Jules Trio (with a 15 minute string version of Étoiles de la Nuit), Bersarin Quartett, Bartosz Dziadosz, Hecq, Arovane,Hans-Joachim Roedelius, Sven Laux, Sankt Otten, Markus Guentner, Richard Chartier, Hotel Neon. 31 Tracks, and most of them previously unreleased. Grenzwellen host and compilation curator Ecki Stieg advises to play the compilation in its entirety: "please listen in the order given. Don't use the random button!." Grenzwellen Eins by Grenzwellen VARIOUS ARTISTS - MUSIC FOR ELEVATORS And, while on the subject of massive compilation projects this one cannot stay unmentioned. Only recently I became aware of a series of (free download) releases by the Mahorka netlabel called "Music for Elevators." A nice reference to many ambient "Music for ..." releases, as well as to 'Elevator Music' - which is usually referring to anonymous 'Muzak'. The first edition of this series was released way back in 2002, followed by Vol. 2 in 2005, Vol. 3 in 2007, Vol. 4 in 2012. The three-part set Vol. 5, which is said to conclude the series, was released in 2017 (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3). You can still find the complete set online: the first four editions can be found on Archive.org (free downloads), the three-part Vol. 5 on Bandcamp (Name-Your-Price). So that is quite an impressive batch of unknown music to discover. Unknown - because in the tradition of netlabels, Mahorka presents the work of artists that are largely unknown - with the occasional exception depending on how 'deep' you are into the scene. "You are on board for a pushing all kinds of boundaries trip through what ambient music can be and what can be ambient music." 'Ambient' is not a very strict definition here, probably 'experimental electronic' would have been a more appropriate label. There are quite a few tracks that would probably scare the hell out of any ordinary citizen who got stuck in an elevator. But in a collection like this, everyone will find a lot of sounds to his/her liking! Music For Elevators Vol.5 (Part 1) by Various Artists

I have decided to reach out to a few folks in the ambient community about doing some guest mixes.  Basically I'm just lazy and want content without much work. ;-)  Actually I thought it would be nice to come at these mixes from some new perspectives. And at the same time promote some artists and labels both here and on Mixcloud. This first guest mix is exactly what I was looking for. It is a bit darker than I normally produce and that's why it's great to bring a new mindset to these mixes, it opens new doors and explores new sounds. There are definitely some awesome sounds in this mix. This music comes to us from James Armstrong, the man behind Rusted Tone Recordings.  Check out their first sampler release here... https://rustedtonerecordings.bandcamp.com/releases Here's what James has to say about the mix... "This mix was created to showcase the unreleased work of artists scheduled for solo releases on Rusted Tone Recordings throughout 2018 and into 2019. Ranging from the guitar-based melancholy of Wil Bolton, Spheruleus, and Darren Harper, to the abstract ambient manipulations of James Osland, Kepier Widow, and Red On Maroon, the mix promotes the diversity and creative dedication of the musicians on the RTR Roster.  A majority of the tracks included were contributed by the artists themselves for the label's initial sampler (see link below), with the exceptions of James Osland (White Label Recs. - forthcoming), BCOM (slef-release), and Red On Maroon (Quietest Records - The Tape Works #1). All tracks written and recorded by the respective artist, mastered by James Edward Armstrong." Thanks!
