Bluefield Partners Managing Partner James Armstrong takes Proactive's Stephen Gunnion through the latest interim results for the Bluefield Solar Income Fund (LSE:BSIF), highlighting robust operational performance and an increase in dividend targets. Armstrong noted the standout success of the strategic partnership with GLIL, which contributed to long-term and short-term value protection and significant liquidity, with over £90 million returned to the company. Armstrong emphasised Bluefield Solar's continued leadership in dividends, targeting "not less than 8.9 pence per share," which translates to over 10% based on the current share price. He also highlighted the addition of two new assets—Yelvertoft, a Contract for Difference (CFD) asset, and Mauxhall Farm—which reinforced the company's solid operational performance. Discussing the future of the GLIL partnership, Armstrong explained that Phase 3 focuses on developing Bluefield Solar's proprietary development pipeline, underscoring the partnership's growth potential. Under ESG initiatives, he proudly mentioned the Impact on Clients Award for biodiversity work at West Raynham Solar Park, showcasing the company's environmental stewardship. Addressing the discounted Net Asset Value (NAV), Armstrong outlined strategic steps, including a share buyback program and prudent capital allocation, to align with shareholder interests and narrow the NAV discount. He concluded by highlighting Bluefield's focus on delivering innovative and value-creative solutions for shareholders. For more insightful interviews and updates, visit Proactive's YouTube channel. What would happen to your family if something happened to you? What would happen to you if something happened to your spouse? In today's episode, host Travis Shelton explains why it's critically important to protect our families with life insurance, how much you might need, and how to get it. If we're struck with the most heartbreaking of tragedies, we need to make sure our family is protected financially. It's enough to mourn the loss of a partner…..we don't need sudden financial turmoil to strike at the same time. While never fun to discuss, this topic can quickly, easily, and cheaply be taken care of.Referenced Episodes:405 - Budgeting 101: https://pod.fo/e/2a82dc406 - Sinking Funds 101: https://pod.fo/e/2a8e06407 - Personal Spending 101: https://pod.fo/e/2ab0bb408 - Income Fund 101: https://pod.fo/e/2ac860409 - Taxable Investing 101: https://pod.fo/e/2ae3d7If you have questions or would like to connect with us outside of the podcast, here's where you can find us: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/meaning_over_moneyTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@meaning_over_moneyDaily Blog: https://travisshelton.com/blog Subscribe to the daily blog: https://shorturl.at/ipS35 Podcast Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/370457478238932 Podcast website: https://www.travisshelton.com/podcast Travis's Instagram:  https://www.instagram.com/travis_shelton_YouTube:  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCasnj17-bOl_CZ0Cb9czmyQ

One of the hardest nuances to manage in our finances is dealing with an inconsistent income. While some people might get a salary or work a consistent set of hours, many rely on commissions, royalties, bonuses, and varying hours to feed their family. One month might pay $15,000, and the next $2,000. It can be a whipsaw of emotion, ranging from euphoria to panic. In today's episode, host Travis Shelton explains how he coaches families through this dynamic. If done well, we can take the most volatile income on earth and make it more stable than even salaried positions. If you have an inconsistent income, this one could transform the way you handle money. Referenced Episodes:405 - Budgeting 101:https://pod.fo/e/2a82dc406 - Sinking Funds 101:https://pod.fo/e/2a8e06407 - Personal Spending 101:https://pod.fo/e/2ab0bbIf you have questions or would like to connect with us outside of the podcast, here's where you can find us: Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/meaning_over_moneyTikTok:https://www.tiktok.com/@meaning_over_moneyDaily Blog: https://travisshelton.com/blog Subscribe to the daily blog: https://shorturl.at/ipS35 Podcast Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/370457478238932 Podcast website: https://www.travisshelton.com/podcast Travis's Instagram:  https://www.instagram.com/travis_shelton_ YouTube:  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCasnj17-bOl_CZ0Cb9czmyQ

Bluefield Partners managing partner James Armstrong talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the latest performance and future outlook for the Bluefield Solar Income Fund (LSE:BSIF). Releasing results for the year to 30 June, 2024, Armstrong highlighted that despite facing some headwinds, including lower radiation levels and a slight dip in production, the fund successfully delivered an 8.8 pence per share dividend, which is one of the highest in the infrastructure sector. This translates to a dividend yield of around 8.3%, a highly attractive return for shareholders. Armstrong emphasised the fund's proprietary pipeline of 1.5GW of solar assets, with 800MW ready to build. He also discussed the strategic importance of Bluefield Solar's partnership with GLIL and their ongoing focus on capital allocation through share buybacks and reducing revolving credit. Furthermore, the fund's ESG initiatives were spotlighted, having generated renewable energy sufficient to power 300,000 UK homes in the last year. "The most pleasing thing for us was that we have executed what we agreed with our shareholders, creating liquidity and preparing for future growth," Armstrong said. Bluefield Partners managing partner James Armstrong discusses the Bluefield Solar Income Fund's financial performance with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion. In the quarter to 31 March, 2024, the Fund showed resilience, with NAV dropping only slightly due to effective power hedging strategies against fluctuating power prices. The income strategy, which has been consistent since its IPO 11 years ago, includes a significant percentage of power sales hedged for 2024 and 2025, maintaining an income product with a prospective yield of over 8% for shareholders. Armstrong highlighted the Fund's shareholder strategies, including a share buyback program, which bought back 2.45 million shares in March and continues towards a target of £20 million. Despite a 20% discount to net asset value, the Fund reported the strongest financial performance in over a decade, attributed to strategic management and market conditions. Additionally, Armstrong detailed a strategic partnership with GLIL Infrastructure, signaling a long-term commitment to infrastructure investments and asset management aimed at boosting liquidity and reducing company debt. #BluefieldPartners, #SolarIncomeFund, #JamesArmstrong, #FinancialPerformance, #QuarterlyUpdate, #PowerHedges, #InvestmentStrategy, #ShareholderValue, #DividendYield, #NAV, #ShareBuyback, #InfrastructureInvestment, #RenewableEnergy, #UtilityFunds, #MarketConditions, #InvestorRelations, #StrategicPartnership, #GloPartnership, #EnergySector, #BluefieldSolar #ProactiveInvestors #invest #investing #investment #investor #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews

The Bluefield Solar Income Fund (BSIF), advised by Bluefield Partners, has reported strong half-year results and has set its dividend target for the fiscal year at no less than 8.8p per share at two-times cover, up from 8.6p in the previous fiscal year. The fund, focusing solely on UK solar investments, boasts stable, largely index-linked revenues leading to close to record returns. Bluefield Partners' Managing Partner James Armstrong told Proactive's Stephen Gunnion that despite these strong performances, the fund is currently trading at a discount to its Net Asset Value (NAV). Armstrong highlighted the fund's defensive capital structure and a proprietary pipeline of approximately 1.5 gigawatts of solar developments expected to come online in the coming years as key drivers of value and sustainability. This approach has contributed to BSIF being the highest-performing fund of its kind listed in London. A strategic partnership with GLIL Infrastructure was announced last November, aimed at advancing the fund's development pipeline and addressing the discount to NAV by enabling the fund to proceed with developments and sell down assets, thereby creating liquidity. BSIF has laid out capital allocation priorities focusing on reducing the Revolving Credit Facility (RCF), maintaining business momentum, and addressing the discount to NAV through measures such as a £20 million share buyback program initiated on 14 February. Although the share buyback is not expected to significantly alter the share price in the short term, it represents a prudent allocation of capital. Looking forward to the second half of the year, BSIF does not anticipate making acquisitions due to market conditions. The focus will be on progressing the strategic partnership with GLIL, optimizing portfolio performance, and managing the discount to NAV through continued share buybacks. #BluefieldSolar #SolarEnergy #SustainableInvesting #DividendYield #UKSolar #RenewableEnergy #InfrastructureInvestment #ShareBuyback #NAVDiscount #GreenEnergy #ProactiveInvestors #invest #investing #investment #investor #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews

The Bluefield Solar Income Fund (LSE:BSIF), advised by Bluefield Partners, recently announced a significant strategic partnership with GLIL Infrastructure, involving the acquisition of a 247-megawatt UK solar portfolio from Lightsource bp. Bluefield Partners' Managing Partner James Armstrong visits the Proactive London studio to speak with Thomas Warner to talk about how the agreements fits into the fund's long-term strategy of delivering attractive, inflation-linked dividends to its shareholders. Armstrong highlights the three key components of this partnership. Firstly, the acquisition of the Lightsource bp portfolio, which he praises for its diversity, proven management, and high levels of regulated revenues, aligning closely with the fund's objective of providing long-term, inflation-linked returns. About 80% of the revenues from this acquisition are linked to inflation, making it a potentially more attractive proposition for the fund's shareholders. The second phase of the partnership involves selling a 50% stake to GLIL. This move is aimed at reducing the fund's short-term debt burden, which has been a challenge due to the broader market's recent struggles with higher inflation and interest rates, leading to lower public market valuations of infrastructure and renewable energy assets. The third phase focuses on joint development of a pipeline of new assets over the next 2-5 years, leveraging the fund's strong market position and decade-long track record of high performance. In response to potential shareholder reactions, Armstrong anticipates positive support, citing ongoing discussions with them. He says its been a "reasonably positive start" to the year after a challenging 2023. In summary, Bluefield Solar Income Fund's strategic partnership with JLL Infrastructure, involving significant acquisitions and collaborative developments, aligns with its goal of providing sustainable, inflation-linked returns to shareholders. Brian Price, head of investment management at Commonwealth Financial Network, says it's hard to make a case for risk assets like stocks to move much in either direction and the mixed signals extend to the economy, which he believes will avoid the extreme moves in either direction. As a result, he discounts the potential for an economic hard landing -- despite expecting below-average economic growth -- despite expecting lackluster performance as current conditions play out into next year. Similar sentiments were expressed by Thomas Winmill, manager of the Midas Fund, who notes that gold has been a better hedge for inflation of late than it was at the start of the interest rate-hike cycle, but who notes that the real potential in precious metals moving forward will be more about total return of the asset compared to stocks. Winmill, who also manages Dividend and Income Fund, says he expects a coming downturn to strengthen the many buys he currently sees for investors willing to look past the few stocks that have led the current rally. Also on the show, Jill Gonzalez discusses WalletHub's analysis that a small Federal Reserve rate hike will directly cost Americans billions of dollars in extra interest charges, Lester Jones talks the latest business conditions survey out this week from the National Association for Business Economics -- which shows surprising optimism among economists -- and Chuck answers a listener's question about investing for income.

Thomas Winmill, manager of the Midas Fund and the Dividend and Income Fund, says that investors have to adjust their psychology to recognize that it is a preserve of value, and while it has struggled this year in its traditional role as a hedge against inflation, it will hold up well against bonds, where investors have been lured by higher yields that look good but can't keep pace with inflation. Winmill says central bankers around the world have been buying it and that they have a good track record for timing a recovery, which he thinks will happen gradually ove the next three to six months as the dollar weakens. Winmill notes that investors who have tried to use cryptocurrency instead of gold as an inflation hedge have suffered much larger losses than gold investors this year. Also on the show, Tom Lydon of VettaFi.com takes an unusual step -- pegged to this week's election -- as his pick for ETF of the Week is influenced by politics, and Mike Bailey, director of research at FBB Capital Partners, talks about "beat and raise" stock investing in the Market Call.
