New year, new series, same old comPOSERS. Series 13 kicks off with a deep dive into a movie possessed of almost no score or sanity, but a whole lot of heart. It's 1989's UHF, with music by John Du Prez (but don't bother looking for it) and a kick-ass soundtrack by the legendary "Weird Al" Yankovic.

One of the most comic-accurate movies of all time is now 30 years old, so we decided to celebrate the Holidays by fighting in the 'old style', and look back at the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. If this episode reminds you of something that happened years ago in Japan, it's because we removed the penicillin from your pizza and kept those Sony payments at bay, to instead meditate on this revolutionary film from three decades ago that certainly wasn't some cartoon. And if you don't understand cricket… we'll teach you. Structurally speaking, this one has it all - It slices, it dices, it makes French Fries in three different ways but still manages to go on unfunny, nerdy tangents faster than you can ninja-kick a damn rabbit. So check out Episode 109: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Unless you're some kind of punker. Man, we hate punkers. Hosted by: ‘Captain Cricket' Greig Tansley (@GreigT13). Featuring: 'SuperShredder' Jared Robinovitz (@superjew75), 'Moonlighting' Joshua Schlag (@schlizzag / @thesteelcage), 'Master' Neo Ecks (@theneoecks) and Danny 'It's just Dan now' Schlag (@dannyschlag). Chris & Kelsey murder some campers in 3D! The Classic Film: Friday the 13th Part III (1982) "Having revived from his wounds, Jason Voorhees takes refuge at a cabin near Crystal Lake. As a group of co-eds arrives for their vacation, Jason continues his killing spree” (IMDb.com). Jason gets his trademark hockey mask in this installment of the famous franchise that brought the 3D craze back to horror movies in the 80s. It's more of the same, really, but you'll be thankful for that one day. The Modern Film: Lake Bodom (2016) "Every camper's worst nightmare came true at Lake Bodom in 1960 when four teenagers were stabbed to death while sleeping in their tent” (IMDb.com). Through the not-so-straight-laced English mouthpieces of A FISH CALLED WANDA, you’re meant to feel the profound repression of being British – akin to being dead, as John Cleese's Archie Leach says – and then laugh at the morbidity of it all with the help of often morally objectionable humor. A jewel heist gone wrong at the last minute leaves American and British double-crossers spiraling, connecting, clashing, and wondering what you have to do in this life to make people trust you.
