Join Donald Kelly and Jon James in this episode as they talk about how to use the ‘Ask me Anything' strategy to land more LinkedIn appointments. Jon James is the CEO of Ignited Results, a digital agency specializing in leveraging LinkedIn to get more sales opportunities. They work with their clients and help them with their LinkedIn marketing to get more meetings with prospects. The challenges on LinkedIn Part of the challenge is the failure of not identifying who they're connecting to, which is the driver in terms of who you end up on a call with or having the opportunity to ask someone for a call. Salespeople need to start with good targeting. Jon James recommends having a Sales Navigator to target the types of people who can be your ideal prospects. With Sales Navigator, you can target teams or companies with a certain employee count of revenue mark. The LinkedIn outreach process Before you begin the outreach, you first need to look at your profile and make sure that it's good to go. Check out the significant areas you need to focus on - the headline message, your headshot, and your background image. A great headline is critical since it's one of the top reasons that help people decide whether they'd accept your connecting request, and if they're already connected, it will help them decide if they turn into a meeting. Include in your headline your professional credentials/job title, put a client-facing solution statement. A one-liner that would explain how you help clients. Then, follow it up with something personal. Your statement in your headline is your way of building rapport with the prospects before you even met them for a meeting. Structure your LinkedIn messages There are four things to remember when it comes to LinkedIn messaging - hook, relate, bridge, and call to action. Hook - mention their name and their industry. Relate - mention the issues they're possibly dealing with. Don't throw your pitch. Just relate to their problem. Bridge - mention your solution to them. The number one metric you want to judge on LinkedIn is conversation, and the conversation comes from engagement. The Ask Me Anything videos are a great way to start a conversation. “How to use the ‘Ask Me Anything' Strategy to Laned More LinkedIn Appointments” episode resources Check out Jon James and follow him on LinkedIn. Donny and Quinten were afraid it would never come, but the day has finally arrived. The Matt James season of "The Bachelor" has come to an end, and they are joined by Amanda Page (@itsallhappeningx) to break it down. They discuss the instant star that is Jon James, Matt's PDA with his mother, Michelle's unfair departure, Chris Harrison's habit of showing up out of the shadows and scenes that never aired. Then, they jump to the "After the Final Rose" special, where Emmanuel Acho proves to be more charismatic than anything that was on the screen this season. During the special, the new Bachelorette(s!) are revealed and Rachael reveals she has more learning and self reflection to do. Meanwhile, Donny & Quinten self reflect on why they chose to punish themselves by watching this season and what it says about them if they continue to be a part of Bachelor Nation knowing they hated every second.REMEMBER TO SUBSCRIBE, RATE AND REVIEW!E-Mail Us: knowthatpod@gmail.comFollow Us on Instagram and Twitter: @knowthatpod Find our new blog post every Wednesday at www.knowthatpod.comSupport the show (https://www.buymeacoffee.com/Knowthatpod)

In today's episode we talk with Former Pro Athlete turned Stunt Rapper Jon James. Jon's career began in the pro-ski world where he achieved many of the world's first including backflipping onto and off of a rail among others. The self-proclaimed "loose cannon" gives us a behind-the-scenes peek into his creative process for creating music as well as creating and training for stunts of epic proportions. This episode was filmed in 2016 as he had just launched his music video for Hello which featured an incredible stunt that can be viewed here: YOUTUBE LINK Sadly, Jon James passed away on October 20th, 2018 filming a stunt for his upcoming music video. He died performing an airplane stunt that included rapping while walking on the wing of the plane. He had trained intensely for this stunt but as Jon got further out onto the wing of the plane, it caused the small Cessna to go into a downward spiral that the pilot couldn't correct. Jon held onto the wing until it was too late, and by the time he let go, he didn't have time to pull his chute. He impacted and died instantly. Jon was an incredibly motivated person; always smiling, encouraging everyone around him to follow their passion and live life to fullest. He filled everyone around him with positivity and never spoke poorly about another person. He truly had a heart of gold. Jon would want to be remembered as a beacon of light to follow your dreams and would want everyone to continue to be inspired through his music and life message. He is survived by Father Doug McMurray, Mother Jen McMurray, brother Jarred McMurray, wife Kali James McMurray, and countless close friends and fans alike. Bernardo Nunes, PhD believes that applying behavioral sciences to startups is the fastest way to get entrepreneurs up and running in a fast-changing world. At Growth Academy in Amsterdam, the students work in small teams over three months to build a company with the help of sophisticated machine learning tools as well as knowledgeable coaches and teachers. In our conversation with Bernardo, we spoke at length about the ethics and regulations surrounding data privacy, how an article in The New York Times featuring David Laibson, PhD got Bernardo started down this path and how Frank Zappa's 3-song "Hot Rats" album would be his go-to for desert island listening. We had an important discussion about the interplay between policy and marketing and how they influence each other. There is some background noise occasionally but we don't think it inhibits the quality of the interview. We hope you enjoy it. Music: Theme song "Everywhere You Go" by Tim Houlihan and transitional music "Transfiguration" by Jon James. Used by permission.
Charlotte Blank, Chief Behavioral Officer at Maritz, says her job is 'selling science.' In this interview, held immediately before our meetup gathering in Minneapolis in February 2018, Charlotte describes research she conducted with Leslie John, Tami Kim, and Kate Barasz to create a recent HBR article titled "Ads That Don't Overstep." Their work yielded two very simple and important messages about communication: 1. Don't talk behind someone's back, 2. Don't make assumptions. In the world of big data, machine learning and algorithm-driven communication, marketers need to pay close attention to these. An early part of our discussion was on Charlotte's fascination with Franz DeWaal's work with monkeys, bonobos and the mysterious octopus! This led to a discussion about fairness as a key principle in program design and if you're not familiar with DeWaal's seminal work with capuchin monkeys, check it out here. We discussed the now-famous Target advertising case where the company promoted pregnancy-related products to young women based on their buying habits and in one case, neither the woman nor her parents knew she was pregnant. There's a line to pay attention to and it has to do with the two guidelines noted above. Charlotte also mentioned a couple of excellent books that she's recently read: Melissa Dahl, publisher of Science of Us, has a new book called "Cringeworthy, A Theory of Awkwardness" and Seth Stephens-Davidowitz's new book called "Everybody Lies" are top picks for those curious about human behavior. The theme music in this episode, like all the other Behavioral Grooves music, is composed and played by Tim Houlihan. We are grateful to Jon James allowing us to use his work "Transfiguration" during intro and outro of the interview.
