Pack Nation… it's Big Sal from Peshtigo. I'm sitting in the recliner, coffee's already cold, and I have officially had enough of the last ten hours of Packers news. I didn't ask for this. Nobody asked for this. But here we are. You wake up Monday thinking, "Okay, cutdown day is over, the 53 is set, maybe we get a quiet day." Nope. The league still has Josh Jacobs on the Commissioner's Exempt List. Still. He's getting paid, he can't practice, he can't play, and the rest of us are just supposed to nod like this is normal.
Hello, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome once again to the Packernet Podcast. I am your host and resident fanalyst, as always, Cal Hutson. Check us out online, packernet.com. So, on the docket today, we have some interesting takes from around the N F L world, touching on our Packers, of course, and then a good bit of trash talk about our division rivals. Anywho, let's get into it. First up, Andy Herman over at PackADay, he is raising some eyebrows about the Josh Jacobs situation. Herman said, quote, "this is not the normal procedure for a misdemeanor like this. Usually they let that play out and then cast judgment after that. But that's not the case with Josh Jacobs. Why that is, your guess is as good as mine. Are they hesitant about one of the charges? Do they have access to the video? Do they know something we don't know?" I am gonna be honest, folks, Herman has a point. It is not the normal procedure. When we talk about fairness and transparency in player discipline, the N F L often works in mysterious ways, and sometimes those ways feel a little bit like a double standard. If there is more to it, if there is video, if there is something they know, then it needs to come out, because otherwise, it just looks… off.
Andrew Siciliano reports on defensive tackle Aaron Donald coming out of retirement to rejoin the Los Angeles Rams, Packers running back Josh Jacobs being placed on the Commissioner’s Exempt List, and the final week of the preseason. This is the last time these fantasy football running back rankings change before Week 1.Kendall Valenzuela and Peter Overzet go through Fantasy Life's final preseason running back rankings, all 48 of them, and stop on the names where the room genuinely disagrees. Every tier comes with the full consensus list plus each player's highest and lowest rank across the staff, so you can see exactly where the confidence is and where it isn't.The top twelve opens with the debate that decides the 1.01, and whether it actually matters as much as everyone thinks. Then the widest disagreement on the entire board — one back the staff has anywhere from RB4 to RB12, an eight-spot spread on a player people are taking in the second round. And a confidence check on the back who's settled in at RB11 after an injury scare: would you really be comfortable if he were the only running back you took in the first three rounds? The RB2 range brings a rookie coming off a high ankle sprain, a veteran the guys may have ranked too low given the situation ahead of him, and another enormous spread — a starting back the staff has between RB19 and RB27.The back half is where drafts are actually won. A Packers back whose stock moved when Josh Jacobs landed on the Commissioner's Exempt List, the real answer in the New England backfield, whether Jacory Croskey-Merritt ends up leading Washington, and the Minnesota split between Jordan Mason and Aaron Jones. They close by each naming their favorite handcuff to draft this year — which, in a season this thin at the position, might be the most useful two minutes of the show. Topics in this video: 2026 fantasy football, running back rankings, RB rankings, fantasy football rankings, Jahmyr Gibbs, Bijan Robinson, Christian McCaffrey, James Cook, Jonathan Taylor, Kenneth Walker, Chase Brown, Saquon Barkley, Derrick Henry, De'Von Achane, Ashton Jeanty, Omarion Hampton, Jeremiyah Love, Travis Etienne, Bucky Irving, MarShawn Lloyd, TreVeyon Henderson, Rhamondre Stevenson, Jacory Croskey-Merritt, Jordan Mason, Aaron Jones, handcuff running backs, fantasy football draft strategy, who to draft in 2026 Learn more about your ad choices. What's up Packers family Big Sal here with the Packernet podcast network let me tell you something. If you thought cutdown day was just gonna be the usual "sorry kid, it's a numbers game" and a couple of quiet releases… nah. Gutekunst and the front office turned Sunday into absolute chaos. Trades flying, the league dropping a bomb on the running back room, and the 53 coming together in the most 2026 Packers way possible. Let's break it all down the way we do it here – real talk, no fluff, just the stuff that actually matters as we head into the regular season. First, the heavy one. Josh Jacobs is on the Commissioner's Exempt List. Official. The NFL put him there after the misdemeanor charges (battery and criminal damage to property) that came out of that May incident. He's paid, he can be around the facility for meetings and workouts with the team's permission, but he can't practice and he can't play. Only Roger Goodell can take him off it.
Alright, Packers fans… Cal Hutson here. And I gotta be honest with you. I don't know what Brian Gutekunst had for breakfast this morning… but apparently it was three cups of coffee, a Red Bull, and pure violence. Because GOOD LORD. What happened today?! I woke up thinking: "Okay. It's roster cut day. We're gonna find out who makes the 53." Normal NFL stuff. You know… You check Twitter. You see some guys get released. You see some guys get waived. Maybe you lose a guy you liked. Maybe you celebrate somebody making the roster. You move on with your day. Nope. Not in Green Bay. Apparently Brian Gutekunst looked at the Packers roster and said: **"You know what this needs?"** **"CHAOS."**
NFL weekend chaos, Week Zero heartbreak, and plenty of drama. Aaron Donald is back — so what does that mean for the Rams and their futures? Plus, Jacobs lands on the commissioners list, a fantasy league debacle unfolds, and we investigate the very real possibility that the “49ers guy” is completely fake. We break down the brutal Hawaii beat from Week Zero, roast Knish for celebrating way too early, dive into the Ninth Circuit's Kalshi ruling, and ask why “pros don't want to share.” Plus: Storm Buonatony on sports media salaries, the latest GRP saga, and another edition of the Chopping Block. Drop your questions in the chat! Jacob Gramegna hosts this episode of Circle Back alongside Rob Pizzola and Geoff Fienberg for another edition of Circles Off, part of The Hammer Betting Network.

C-Lo joins to cover the controversial non-catch in Sunday's Yankees-Red Sox game, Josh Jacobs lands on the Commissioner's Exempt List, and the guys debate if starters need more preseason playing time—all that and much more!

Munaf Manji talks weekend action in the sports betting world. Munaf Manji opens a new season of the weekend rewind show solo on the Straight Outta Vegas AM feed, laying out the plan for a full week of football content, this rewind episode on Mondays once Uncle Dave joins him, a college football pod, a Wednesday preview show, a Thursday prop show with Sleepy, and a Friday picks show built on the injury report. At 2:47 he closes the book on preseason betting trends, underdogs went 23 and 9 and 1 against the spread through the first two weeks, a 72 percent clip, with road dogs posting a 42 and 1 mark, numbers worth watching into Week One. The headline news arrives at 5:04, Aaron Donald is officially coming out of retirement to rejoin the Los Angeles Rams on a one year deal worth twenty million dollars, with playoff incentives pushing the total as high as thirty million. Donald joins a front that already added Myles Garrett in a blockbuster trade with Cleveland, and Munaf breaks down how dominant that pairing could become, while expecting Donald's snap count to build gradually as he shakes off the rust. At 7:51 the Rams sit at five to one to win the Super Bowl on DraftKings with no other team shorter than ten to one, and Munaf cites a Yahoo Sports stat that teams which opened as favorites at plus 500 or better have gone zero for 20 all time, asking whether this roster could break that trend. At 9:08 he adds the Trent McDuffie trade from Kansas City and a look at how a stronger defense could shift Los Angeles toward lower scoring games built around Matthew Stafford, Puka Nacua, Davante Adams, and Kyren Williams. At 11:41 the show turns to a more serious story, Green Bay running back Josh Jacobs has been placed on the Commissioner's Exempt List ahead of a court appearance on November 17, with Munaf estimating a possible suspension in the four to six game range. At 12:48 he connects that news to the Packers trading for running back Kaleb Johnson from the Steelers, a move he reads as Green Bay preparing for time without Jacobs and potentially leaning more on Jordan Love. From 14:20 onward, the show becomes a rapid tour of final roster cuts, Trevon Diggs released by Seattle but likely practice squad bound, Anthony Richardson and J.J. McCarthy surviving their initial rosters, and Titans wide receiver Xavier Restrepo earning a fantasy shoutout behind Calvin Ridley and rookie Carnell Tate. At 16:07 the Giants keep Darius Slayton and Odell Beckham Jr. while moving on from Jalin Hyatt, with Beckham's comments about bringing a championship back to New York getting a mention. At 16:53 Cleveland's quarterback carousel takes center stage, Dillon Gabriel making the roster, Deshaun Watson holding the starting job, Shedeur Sanders waiting in the wings, and Taylen Green turning heads late. At 17:53 he runs through players opening the year on injured reserve or the PUP list, Micah Parsons, James Conner, Isaac Guerendo, and Kerby Joseph among them, along with the release of Titans quarterback Will Levis. At 19:59, Bears wide receiver Luther Burden III has been cleared by head coach Ben Johnson and is expected ready for Week One despite a groin injury. After a mention of his appearance on RJ Bell's Dream Preview podcast at 21:31, Munaf lands on his best bet of the show. At 23:02 he builds the pick around a quote from Ben Johnson, who said this offseason he wants Chicago to be the highest scoring offense in NFL history, a comment Munaf says grabbed his attention given what Johnson built previously with Jared Goff in Detroit. At 24:20 he lands on Caleb Williams' season long passing yards prop, the number sitting at 3,649.5 on DraftKings but a better line at 3,600.5 on BetMGM. Williams threw for 3,942 yards, 27 touchdowns, and seven interceptions in year one under Johnson while playing all 17 games in each of his first two seasons, and Munaf likes him to clear the number in a more explosive year two offense. The episode closes with a look ahead to next week, when Uncle Dave joins Munaf for the first full regular season show, previewing the opener including the Super Bowl rematch and the international matchup between the 49ers and Rams in Australia, ahead of the Friday picks show heading into Week One.
BREAKING: Josh Jacobs placed on EXEMPT List
ESPN Packers Reporter Rob Demovsky joins the show to talk about the latest with Josh Jacobs & Micah Parsons, and what the expectations are for Jordan Love as we head into the regular season. Then, Michelle explains why he's still angry at the LA Rams. Are they the biggest villains in football? Plus, the most UnSportsmanLike moments of the day! Learn more about your ad choices. Football is finally back, and so is the crew's favorite ritual: predicting every Week 1 matchup before a single meaningful snap. CannCon opens solo again, working through StreamYard chaos and a mystery about whether Alpha is secretly having a rough week (blame the chat member who spilled it) before Alpha strolls in with a printed pick sheet he plans to track all season long. The heart of this one is a game-by-game Week 1 draft where all three lock in picks, from the Patriots-Seahawks Wednesday opener to the 49ers-Rams clash in Melbourne that sparks a genuinely confused group attempt at time-zone math. Along the way they debate the Josh Jacobs suspension, mourn the departure of JB from the show, and cook up increasingly cruel end-of-season loser punishments involving karaoke, half-and-half jerseys, and forced hangouts. Expect hot takes on Malik Willis, Bengals faith, and a Pete Rose tangent. Pure football banter with the usual brotherhood roasting underneath.

In This Episode: The Packers just delivered one of the wildest preseason backfield shakeups we've seen in years, and Bloom & Cecil break down what it really means for fantasy managers heading into draft week. Josh Jacobs has been placed on the Commissioner's Exempt List after new charges surfaced — and there's no clear timeline for his return. With a court date in mid‑November, Jacobs becomes a stash‑and‑pray option at best, and it's possible he's played his last down for Green Bay. That opens the door wide for MarShawn Lloyd, who is now expected to be the RB1 to open the season. Lloyd's talent has never been in question — it's the durability. But after offseason work at the Meyer Institute correcting movement issues tied to his college ACL tear, he could be a massive fantasy hit if he stays healthy. Green Bay also traded for Kaleb Johnson, adding depth behind Lloyd and Chris Brooks. Johnson profiles as the third‑string back, but his arrival signals how aggressively the Packers are trying to stabilize the position. This is the kind of late‑August news that reshapes tiers, ADP, and draft strategy — and we're here to help you navigate it. watch on YouTube -> https://youtube.com/live/9Ctl89Wf8wU

CAL HUTSON — PACKERS DAILY "THIS IS NOT HOW WE THOUGHT TODAY WAS GOING TO GO" Alright, everybody… What's going on? Cal Hutson here. And man… **WHAT A DAY.** Seriously. I woke up this morning thinking we're gonna talk about roster cuts. We're gonna talk about who's making the 53. We're gonna talk about which young receiver impressed enough to stick around. Maybe we'd talk about Kyle McCord because, let's be honest, the guy just threw four touchdowns in the preseason finale. Maybe we'd talk about Kaleb Johnson. Maybe we'd talk about the running back room. And then… **BOOM.** Josh Jacobs is on the Commissioner's Exempt List. And suddenly this isn't just a roster-cut day anymore. This is a completely different conversation. So if you're sitting there right now thinking, "What the heck is happening with the Packers?" Trust me. **You're not alone.** Because this thing has moved FAST.
In this episode of Live Bet Sunday, Scott Seidenberg discusses MLB updates, college football reactions, and NFL roster changes, including Aaron Donald's return to the Rams and Josh Jacobs' status with the Packers. Erin Coscarelli also joined the show to analyze the trending topics surrounding the Rams. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company.
