Dr. West talks with Justin Roth (Guitarist) of War Curse to promote their new album, Confession. Out now on Metal Blade Records.
In this episode of The Own It Show, host Justin Roth shares his insights on the significance of patience in pursuing our goals and embracing a life of ownership. He emphasizes the need to connect with our deeper calling and purpose to cultivate patience and sustain our efforts. By taking responsibility, staying accountable, and recommitting to what truly matters, we can overcome the temptation to rush through challenges and discover the fulfillment that comes with patient perseverance.Main takeaways:Patience and purpose: Rushing through challenges is often a result of feeling disconnected from our deeper calling and purpose. To cultivate patience, we need to reestablish that connection and align our actions with our true intentions.Sustaining power: Patience requires the ability to stay committed during difficult times. By connecting to a higher purpose, we gain the necessary strength and perseverance to endure the challenges along the way.The illusion of arrival: It's essential to recognize that reaching a specific goal or milestone is not the end point. There is always more growth and progress beyond each achievement. Patience allows us to appreciate the journey and continue striving for new levels of success.Examining patience in different domains: Reflect on where you lack patience in various areas of life, such as relationships, health, finances, business, or family. Identify the underlying reasons for impatience and seek to reconnect with the purpose and meaning behind your actions.Embracing ownership: Living a life of ownership entails taking responsibility for our choices, thoughts, and behaviors. By embracing patience and connecting with our calling, we can own our path, make intentional decisions, and experience true fulfillment.Remember, patience is not always easy, but by reevaluating our motivations, realigning with our purpose, and embracing the journey, we can develop the patience necessary to realize our aspirations and create lasting change in our lives.Let's connect:Justin: Instagram Hyperlink https://www.instagram.com/justinroeth/ LinkedIn Hyperlink https://www.linkedin.com/in/justin-roethlingshoefer-ms-7252a766/ Alyse: Instagram Hyperlink https://www.instagram.com/alysegaulin LinkedIn Hyperlink https://www.linkedin.com/in/alyse-gaulin-cpc-eli-mp-a7128211/ Own It Success is different so own your different!

Today's guest is none other than Justin Roth, outspoken guitarist of Cincinnati thrash Band War Curse. Fresh off his tour manager duties with OG thrashers Exodus on their 70,000 tons of metal gig, we had a truly epic (and very long) conversation about his band, his various roles with other heavy hitting bands, his thoughts on what it takes to survive in the industry, and his view on the various double standards that musicians (and people in general) are often held to. We went down quite a few rabbit holes in this one, and Justin's brutal honesty is both surprising and refreshing. Want to know about life on the road and in the studio? Want the origin of War Curse and his relationships with bands like Exodus, Heathen, and Exhorder? Want to know what kinds of people piss him off?
