It's another jam-packed episode of Talkin' Rock with Meltdown. First up, it's David Ellefson. This guy has so many projects in the works, but I thought we'd talk to discuss his documentary about the late Nick Menza. We got to that, but first, we talked about seeing Alice In Chains for the first time, and why he has so many projects. He said he just says Yes! Tom Hunting from Exodus is next. I've never met or spoken to Tom. I found him very chill and thoughtful with his answers. We talked about his recent 60th birthday. We also discussed his health and pray for the best for him. The band is in the middle of writing and recording their 12th album. He told me he's grateful to have done something that he likes for so long. Zouzou Mansour of Soraia wraps up this episode. The East Coast band has a new song out (So Holy) with an EP to drop later this year. We spoke to the latest music, working on the album in Sweden, and horror movies. Zou's a big scary movie chick. Enjoy!
Rick welcome Tom & Jennifer Rizzuto back to the show to discuss Renfield but Tom wants to vent about Nosferatu first. Then, SURPRISE, Tom enjoyed Renfield! We get into what the first couple of Spooky Doings enjoyed about the film, the corruption of the New Orleans Police Department, the cinematography, codependent relationships, Nicholas Cage, Awkwafina, Nicholas Hoult & more! We also discuss eating bugs, DVD extras, Innocent Blood, give shout outs to our friends in Soraia, Jazz Fest, the potential for sequels & if Dracula is the best monster?
The gang's all here! Rick welcomes ZouZou Mansour, Travis Smith & Brianna Sig from Soraia to the show to discuss Robert Eggers' Nosferatu. We learn if the band saw the original or Werner Herzog's version before this new film, if anyone got the popcorn bucket, ZouZou's obsession with the film, Travis' improv skills, Brianna's hijinks & Count Orlock hanging dong! We also discuss the feminist angles of the movie, German expressionism, a majestic mustache, the plagiarism aspects, getting ZouZou to watch Jason Takes Manhattan, & how much was the films rat budget. Please subscribe, review & give us that 5 star boop!

Recorded in Lisbon and the countryside of Barcelona, the album exudes an organic quality. Alain's commitment to preserving the authentic vibe shines through, ensuring that each track resonates with the same energy as Tarah's initial creative sparks. From the pulsating rhythms reminiscent of Tarah's drumming roots to the electrifying guitar-play, The Last Chase strikes a balance between grit and vulnerability. Notable tracks like “Safe Zone” and “Never Say Never” showcase Tarah's self-assured vocals, drenched in dangerous, femme fatale tones. This musical masterpiece invites listeners into a world where authenticity and passion collide. Tarah Who? plans to release a self-titled documentary that depicts Tarah's experience as a woman in the rock scene. Directed by Brian Downie, fans can expect to see the film in early 2025.

Dawn Fontaine shares her journey of finding healing and happiness through live music. She recounts attending her first concert at 16, seeing The Offspring, which left a lasting impact on her. Dawn explains how she started attending live shows every weekend, meeting new people, and maintaining a spreadsheet to track the bands and venues she visited. She also recounts meeting legendary musician Stephen Van Zandt at a concert and her collection of drumsticks from the bands she's seen. However, it was Soraia's performance in 2022 that truly changed Dawn's life.

Onde casais e solteiros aprendem o Amor Inteligente. Philadelphia Rockers SORAIA lead singer ZouZou joins STRIKE A CHORD to celebrate their new album Bloom (2022) in both digital streaming and collector's vinyl edition. Bloom was released on Friday October 28th, 2022 and featured LIVE on our show. The last album SORAIA produced was in 2019. This new release explodes from the pressure building up from the last 3 years of not screaming on stage! Lead singer ZouZou recalls the hurdles of getting this record to the studio—but it was worth it. This LP is powerful and passionate—"It's the beginning of another great cycle of our career. We're very excited. We've waited a long time for this one in particular.” AND Steven Van Zandt under Wicked Cool Records is IN on this band! What's the success of your magic? The band's latest single “Tight Lipped” is blowing up the charts! “I think you just persevere in anything you do… if you really want it… you don't stop.” “I Seek Fire” OR should we all take the slow road to love? This track makes you think twice about dating apps. Falling in love is all about chemistry. Taking a shared risk in love is not easy. It should happen organically—BUT can we fight our biology? The pheromones are strong with this album! Support and listen: https://www.soraia.com
