On August 10, 1977, the NYPD arrested David Berkowitz for the Son of Sam murders that had terrorized New York City for over a year. Berkowitz confessed to shooting sixteen people and killing six with a .44 caliber Bulldog revolver, and the case was officially closed. Journalist Maury Terry was suspicious of Berkowitz's confession. Spurred by conflicting witness descriptions of the killer and clues overlooked in the investigation, Terry was convinced Berkowitz didn't act alone. Meticulously gathering evidence for a decade, he released his findings in the first edition of The Ultimate Evil. Based upon the evidence he had uncovered, Terry theorized that the Son of Sam attacks were masterminded by a Yonkers-based cult that was responsible for other ritual murders across the country. After Terry's death in 2015, documentary filmmaker Josh Zeman (Cropsey, The Killing Season, Murder Mountain) was given access to Terry's files, which form the basis of his docuseries with Netflix and a companion podcast. Taken together with The Ultimate Evil, which includes a new introduction by Zeman, these works reveal the stunning intersections of power, wealth, privilege, and evil in America—from the Summer of Sam until today.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-opperman-report--1198501/support.

"Murder In The Family: How the Search for My Mother's Killer Led to My Father" por Jeff Black - Este libro cuenta la historia de Jeff Black, cuya madre fue asesinada por Edwards, y cómo investigó y descubrió la verdad sobre su padre. //Enlaces http://coldcasecameron.com/killers-timeline/1960-1969/ https://darkgothiclolita.forumcommunity.net/?t= (https://darkgothiclolita.forumcommunity.net/?t=57867193)57867193 https://undetectablesite.wordpress.com (https://undetectablesite.wordpress.com/) https://madison.com/edward-wayne-edwards-a-timeline-of-his-life/article_1604863a-741b-11df-ae59-001cc4c03286.html https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Edwards_(serial_killer https://serialkillersinfo.com/serial-killers/edward-edwards-serial-killer/ //Nos Puedes Encontrar en estos lugares: Mi Lista de Amazon https://www.amazon.es/hz/wishlist/ls/11MB382F78KC6?ref_=wl_share Telegram Grupo : https://t.me/LosSabadosMandoYo Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Lossabadosmandoyo Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/lossabadosmandoy Twitter: https://twitter.com/SabadosMandoYo Spotify : https://open.spotify.com/show/7JMeLxFHMtWHEVRGRCY4KO?si=o_HA9s7DR6KFXF_1RRK8KQ Apple Podcast : https://podcasts.apple.com/es/podcast/los-sabados-mando-yo/id1479960558 Ivoox : https://www.ivoox.com/podcast-sabados-mando-yo_sq_f1774095_1.html Feed : https://www.ivoox.com/sabados-mando-yo_fg_f1774095_filtro_1.xml

Over the course of the next few decades Gene and the evolving line-up of Sharks “played – and tore up – every roadhouse, bar, and honky tonk from Manhattan to Montauk” (Bop Magazine), sharing the bill and backing legendary roots rock & roll acts as Wanda Jackson, the Band, Bo Diddley, Sleepy LaBeef, NRBQ, and the Ventures.Gene's original music met with great acclaim with local and international indie radio play. Several of his roots-drenched songs have been used in “A Prairie Home Companion” and on the soundtracks to television and feature films, including “Justified” and “Sons of Anarchy” ; the 2012 thriller “The Tall Man” starring Jessica Biel, the 2013 release “The Killing Season” starring Robert DeNiro, and Rob Reiner's “Being Charlie.”In 2014 Gene and the Lone Sharks were inducted into the Dan's Papers “Best of the Best” Hall of Fame, having been honored over 20 times.  received the Long Island Sound Award by the L.I. Music Hall of Fame, “for contributions to the Island's musical landscape.”2017 saw the release of “Guitar In The Rain” an album celebrating the roots of contemporary Americana with original songs that evoke the romantic sweep of 60s pop, classic C&W and the raw untamed spirit of early rock & roll.2020 brings “Free Country: Essential Recordings” a compilation of some of the best songs culled from 20 years of  work, as well as  a unique arrangement of the public domain standard, “Home on the Range” where all of Gene's influences and obsessions seem to converge.Connect with The Long Island Sound Podcast Intro/Outro song in this episode: “Fading out Fast” from Mike Nugent's album, Mike Nugent and the Blue Moon Band . This week, our boys lean into some hard times on opposite ends of the family-friendly spectrum; in Killing Season, Travolta slaps on a dyed-black chinbeard and a thick moose-and-skvirrel accent as a Bosnian War vet set to take revenge on the American soldier (a weary Robert De Niro) who nearly killed him years ago. It's a one-on-one survival thriller in the wilderness among two old men, which isn't as fun as it sounds (save for some ooey-gooey gore effects). On the kiddie half of the equation, Nic Cage teams back up with Jerry Bruckheimer for G-Force, a hokey live-action/animation adventure that asks the fundamental question: what if guinea pigs were spies? It's a feast of late-aughts 3D gimmickry, comedy actors slumming it (Will Arnett, Zack Galifinakis) and Cage hamming -- well, mole-ing -- it up as a member of the team with a surprising secret (and a nasal voice that would make Peggy Sue Got Married jealous).  Critic and author Marya E. Gates joins us on the pod to talk about this highly unique double feature, and shares with us her childhood memories that might make G-Force just a bit more palatable.  Pledge to our Patreon at patreon.com/travoltacage Follow us on Twitter @travoltacage Email us questions at travoltacagepod@gmail.com Podcast theme by Jon Biegen Podcast logo by Felipe Sobreiro

Toby Ball returns to discuss the clashes between two sets of sixties ideals and one implacable system, capitalism, in the latest podcast. We led off with Netflix's six-part series on the changing times in Humboldt County, CA, Murder Mountain, and its heady blend (so to speak) of true crime and subcultural documentation. How does it stack up with Josh Zeman's other projects? Did it need another couple of episodes to follow the fates of "trimmigrants"? And should the series have arranged a certain poignant meeting? Later, we contemplated 2003 Oscar-nominated The Weather Underground and the simultaneously corny and resonant message of the Weathermen here in 2019, plus the utility of bombing, well, utilities, and why the film seemed to avert its eyes from the group's biggest mistakes. Not sure "bombs, joints, and naked carpentry" is quite as catchy as "sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll," but grab your toolbelts and a lighter and let's find out in The Blotter Presents, Episode 83. In 2015, the ABC aired a gripping documentary series covering the tumultuous Rudd-Gillard era. This week, the series' writer and interviewer Sarah Ferguson has released a book developed from the documentary. Ferguson tells Michelle Grattan she longed for a single villain or a single narrative that she could pursue to the ends of the earth. The widely acclaimed journalist talks about the difficulties of getting past the defensive mechanisms of Kevin Rudd and Julia Gillard, both expert media operators, during her interviews. “What nobody is prepared for is what happens over hours and hours of interviews. As we know, our politicians are highly trained in answering, not answering questions. Delivering messages, delivering lines. But none of them are prepared for what happens over ten hours,” she says. “You can't consistently tell a story that is not entirely true or is a version of a story or is shaped to suit you over a long period of time. Eventually inconsistencies, if there are any, will creep in. You can't maintain the facade you use in a studio interview over ten hours.” Ferguson also discusses Bill Shorten's reluctance to participate in the documentary and to keep himself out of the story. “He just wants to step away from the centre of the events and remain in the cloisters, underneath the arch, half in shadow,” she says.
