Boulder Care, a digital clinic offering long-term support and treatment for opioid use disorder, is breaking down barriers for people suffering from an opioid use disorder. Did you know 40% of counties in the USA don't have a doctor who can prescribe buprenorphine? Patients in rural areas sometime have to drive hours just to see a doctor to get a prescription. Wouldn't it make sense if patients could access a doctor virtually in the comfort of their home?We talk with Stephanie Papes, Founder and CEO of Boulder Care, about the work they are doing that is transforming the ways people with an OUD can access treatment. Stephanie and her team are on a mission to help patients succeed on their own terms. On any given day, roughly 7,800 children in Oregon are in the foster care system. Nearly 500,000 children in the USA are in the foster care system. The increase in demand for foster care comes at a time when opioid deaths have surged. Or did you know, in America, 43% of children in a home are without a father? With such a burden on the foster care system, Valor Mentoring is striving to contest the effects of fatherlessness. It is their belief that by mentoring through these avenues, men of all ages will be better equipped to make healthy life choices. To contact Henry's Uncle, please email info@henrysuncle.orgFollow us on Instagram @ henrys_uncleFor more information about Henry's Uncle, please visit www.henrysuncle.orgDisclaimer: THIS PODCAST DOES NOT PROVIDE MEDICAL ADVICE.
