They spend the first hour on this topic, taking the temperature of fans who chime in on the conversation. They take some calls on this and then transition into discussing recent news regarding L'Jarius Sneed that may either be positive or negative for teams looking to pry him from the Chiefs.
Adam Peters, Dan Quinn & Joe Whitt Jr love fast, physical & explosive defenders. L'Jarius Sneed is exactly that and he will be a free agent this offseason. With Chris Jones likely to be tagged, there isn't a whole lot of room for Sneed with the Chiefs. Washington also may lose FA cornerback Kendall Fuller and will need a replacement. Will the Commanders go after Sneed? Is he a good fit? We take a deep dive in Part 5 of our Player Focus. Let's goooooooo!

Jason Fitz is joined by Yahoo Sports Senior NFL Reporter Jori Epstein to discuss the latest news around the league as the NFL world prepares for the NFL Combine before diving into their favorite landing spots for the top 2024 free agents. Fitz and Jori start off with Justin Fields' comments on a podcast about why he unfollowed the Chicago Bears on social media, and the duo discuss whether his explanation is valid or if he was intentionally sending a message. Next, the two hosts prep for the NFL Combine next week by going back and forth on the news that Athletes First will have its clients abstain from cognitive testing and how NFL evaluators might be putting too much stock in what happens in Indianapolis instead of the years of football experience the prospects have put on tape.Later, Fitz and Jori run down the list of the top available free agents in 2024 and give their ideal landing spots for Kirk Cousins, Chris Jones, L'Jarius Sneed, Baker Mayfield, Josh Allen, Tee Higgins, Brian Burns, Christian Wilkins, Antoine Winfield Jr, Tyron Smith and soon-to-be free agent Russell Wilson.5:00 - Justin Fields unfollows the Bears on social media14:15 - NFL Combine & the value of cognitive testing25:15 - Favorite landing spots for the top 2024 free agentsZero Blitz would be nothing without the impact of our beloved Terez Paylor, who was a pillar of Yahoo Sports' NFL editorial and podcast coverage. In his weekly YouTube appearance, Post-Gazette sports columnist Paul Zeise joins host Adam Bittner to discuss dream NFL free agency targets for the Steelers. Players who are unlikely to sign here but who could fill major positions of need if GM Omar Khan is willing to take an all-in type of gamble. Does Post-Gazette insider Gerry Dulac's pick of Chiefs standout Chris Jones make the most sense if he avoid the franchise tag? What about other front-seven options like Leonard Williams, Christian Wilkins, Josh Allen, Jonathan Greenard, Patrick Queen, Chase Young and Za'Darius Smith? Would it be a successful offseason if corners including Jaylon Johnson, Brian Burns, Kendall Fuller, L'Jarius Sneed or Jeff Okudah were the only major acquisitions? Or could the offense use the boost of a receiver like Mike Evans or a center like Andre James? Our duo tackles those topics, as well as Diontae Johnson's trade value; coach Mike Sullivan's job security amid the Penguins' recent futility; Pitt basketball's March Madness chances after a blowout loss to Wake Forest; Penn State trustees' attempts to name the field at Beaver Stadium after Joe Paterno; and the Pirates' lackluster development regime under GM Ben Cherington. After a season riddled with injuries and bad play at the cornerback position, the Philadelphia Eagles need to make a splash at the position this offseason. Will general manager Howie Roseman target a top-tier free agent like L'Jarius Sneed to replace James Bradberry and eventually Darius Slay? Will he focus on the draft and trade routes more for the CB1 spot and add a cheaper veteran to compete at CB2? Would a reunion with Steve Nelson make sense? The Tennessee Titans will have a ton of money to spend in free agency this offseason and need to focus on some top-tier market options at the positions they need the most. Two Bengals free agents in Tee Higgins and Jonah Williams would make a ton of sense to fill the two spots on offense. Also, in the secondary on defense, names like L'Jarius Sneed and Geno Stone would be ideal fits. Finally, there are some value options at center, backup quarterback and backup running back that would fit seamlessly.
