Every Warlock player starts with the same innocent thought: I just want a mysterious patron and some spooky magic. Three hours later you're reading invocation combinations like you're optimizing a tax return and trying to explain to the party why your character absolutely needed a sentient book, a telepathic connection to an ancient horror, and a cantrip that solves all of life's problems. Somehow, the answer is always Eldritch Blast. Show Notes We kick off our look at Warlocks by exploring the first four levels of one of the most customizable classes in 5e. From choosing your patron to selecting spells and invocations, we discuss how early decisions shape the entire character and why Warlocks punch far above their weight despite their limited spell slots. Along the way, we break down the strengths and weaknesses of Pact Magic, examine the importance of short rests, and discuss which options provide the biggest impact in the early game. We also talk about common traps, favorite spell choices, and how invocations turn a simple spellcaster into something uniquely weird. Whether you're building a blaster, a battlefield controller, or just someone who made a very questionable life decision with an extraplanar entity, levels 1 through 4 are where the foundation of your character really comes together. Key Takeaways Patron choice defines much of your playstyle and provides important features right from level 1. Warlocks rely on a small number of spell slots, making careful spell selection extremely important. Short rest recovery is a major source of the class's power and changes how the class feels compared to other casters. Eldritch Invocations are one of the most flexible customization systems in the game. Eldritch Blast often becomes the foundation of many builds, especially when combined with key invocations. Early-level spell choices can dramatically improve survivability, utility, and damage output. Level 2 is a major power spike thanks to invocations. Level 3 introduces Pact Boons, opening up very different character concepts and playstyles. Level 4 provides an Ability Score Improvement or feat, allowing players to further specialize their build. Warlocks reward planning and system mastery, but even simple builds can be highly effective. Welcome to the RPGBOT Podcast. Liz Covington's son Bennett was diagnosed with ADHD and ODD at age four. The autism diagnosis didn't come until he was ten. Now he's 18, in college, and just spent two hours shoveling the driveway in a snowstorm without being asked twice. That's the kind of win that doesn't make the highlight reels but means everything to families like hers. In this Seen and Heard episode, Rob sits down with Liz, a Utah mom of four, for a 15-minute glimpse into what level 1 autism parenting can actually look like. They cover late diagnosis, the daughter who has friends at school but can't handle anything else after, and why some autism families feel like they don't belong inside their own community. What you'll hear in this episode: Why ADHD and ODD diagnoses came years before autism for Bennett What the win looks like at 18: independence, problem-solving, and no resistance The ten-year-old daughter who masks at school and crashes at home Why "high functioning" families can feel invisible inside the autism community The school principal who misread Bennett's nervous laugh as disrespect The phrase Liz heard too many times: "autistic kids don't do that" Why every kid wants to be connected, appreciated, and seen "Every kid is good. They all want to be connected. They all want to be appreciated. And they're all trying their best." — Liz Covington ABOUT THE GUEST Liz Covington is a mom of four based in Utah. Her oldest son Bennett, 18, was diagnosed with ADHD and ODD at age four and with autism at age ten. He is now in college. A few years ago, my advice to developers would've been simple: learn the fundamentals, get good at system design, master your language of choice. And honestly? That advice still feels good to give. But it doesn't feel right anymore.Knowing how to code is table stakes now. It's not enough to get you hired. In this episode, I break down the three levels of AI skills I'd be investing in right now if I was a new grad, a bootcamp grad, or even a senior engineer looking to transition — and why the bar for "hireable" has shifted dramatically in the last few years.Level 1: Actually getting good at the tools. Not being a prompt monkey — having opinions on Claude, Cursor, git worktrees, and knowing why you accept or push back on what the agent gives you.Level 2: Building on top of AI. MCP servers, RAG pipelines, agents. This is where the biggest career opportunity is right now, and it's where the smallest pool of people actually know what they're doing.Level 3: The deep end: data engineering, pipelines, model hosting, fine-tuning. Less sexy, fewer positions, but massively defensible if you get in early. If you're trying to figure out where to put your time right now, this one's for you.
What does autism level one actually look like inside a real family's home? That is exactly what Justin Bowman, autism dad and founder of VizyPlan, is here to share. In this episode of Seen and Heard, Justin gives us a 15-minute glimpse into life with his son Sawyer, who is turning six and diagnosed autism level one. Sawyer is the kid they call the mayor at school because he just wants to say hi to everyone. He is also a kid who went from completely nonverbal to holding full conversations in under three years, carries a full alphabet soup of providers, and battles a deep self-awareness that sometimes makes him avoid the very things he wants to do most. Justin also makes a point in this episode that stopped me cold: being seen and heard in the autism community is not a level playing field. Zip code matters. Access matters. And until we recognize that, we are missing something important. What you will hear in this episode: • Sawyer's journey from nonverbal to conversational in under three years • Why his follower mentality is both his biggest strength and his parents' biggest worry • The full support team keeping Sawyer thriving inside and outside of school • Why self-awareness in an autistic child can be both remarkable and heartbreaking • What autism level one really looks like when the diagnosis label does not tell the whole story • Why comparison is the thief of joy in the autism community • Why being seen and heard is not equal for every autism family regardless of diagnosis level ABOUT THE GUEST Justin Bowman is the founder and CEO of VizyPlan, a visual routine and planning app built for the neurodivergent community, and Associate Director of Product Management at Chewy. He is an autism dad based in central Massachusetts with his wife Danielle, a speech-language pathologist, and their two children, Sawyer, who is turning six and diagnosed autism level one, and Peyton, who is four. What does it really feel like to fight for your child's autism diagnosis, navigate school battles, and find joy in a glove and a game of catch? In this episode of Seen and Heard, I'm joined by Brandon Shaw, an autism dad from Orlando, Florida, who shares a candid, unfiltered look at life with his seven-year-old son Mason, who is diagnosed level one but often teeters between one and two. Brandon opens up about the moment everything changed, the silence that followed diagnosis, and the small victories that keep his family moving forward. What you will hear in this episode: How Brandon and his wife Alyssa fought for Mason's autism diagnosis after being turned away by two pediatricians Why there was no roadmap after diagnosis and how the family built one on their own The everyday reality of raising two brothers, one neurotypical and one autistic, under the same roof How Mason went from an autism-specific pre-K unit to a mainstream first-grade classroom with an IEP Why small wins, like answering how his school day went or grabbing a baseball glove, mean everything What Brandon wishes the outside world understood about Mason and the autism community Why Brandon believes advocacy is a team sport and how community support changes everything ABOUT THE GUEST Brandon Shaw is an autism dad living in Orlando, Florida with his wife Alyssa and their two sons, Mason, age seven, and Hunter, who is nearly three. Mason was diagnosed as autistic around age three and a half after his family fought to be heard by multiple doctors. Since diagnosis, Brandon and Alyssa have dedicated themselves to learning, advocating, and celebrating every step of Mason's journey. Brandon is passionate about breaking autism stigmas, building community, and reminding other parents that they are not alone. In this bonus episode of the Unreal Results Podcast, Anna sits down with LTAP® Level 1 alum Storm Baynes-Ryan, a physiotherapist based in rural New Zealand. This conversation offers a real-world look at what it means to practice from a whole-organism lens, especially in complex, resource-limited environments.Storm shares how she integrates the LTAP® (Locator Test Assessment Protocol®) across multiple settings, from community care and medical centers to her own in-person and online practice. Despite a full life running a farm, raising four children, and managing multiple jobs, she breaks down how she implemented the LTAP® in a way that was both realistic and transformative. They dive into: How LTAP® changed Storm's ability to quickly identify where to start treatment Applying a whole-organism approach across diverse patient populations Using LTAP® effectively in both in-person and virtual care Why results should change quickly and what it means when they don't How integrating the nervous system and viscera creates more consistent, lasting outcomes The role of pattern recognition, clinical reasoning, and trusting the body's signals This episode is especially valuable for clinicians who feel like something is missing in their current model, those getting decent results, but not consistent ones. It's a grounded, honest conversation about clinical growth, navigating uncertainty, and what becomes possible when you truly learn how to listen to the body.Resources & Links Learn more about LTAP® Level 1 (Spring Cohort) Connect with Storm Baynes-Ryan Previous episode featuring Storm Learn the assessment protocol that shows you exactly where to start treatment. In Step 10: Last Things, we explore the prophecies and events that are yet to come according to the Bible. Starting with John's vision on the island of Patmos, we uncover the time of tribulation, the return of Christ, and the establishment of His kingdom on earth for a thousand years. We examine the fulfillment of the Abrahamic and Davidic covenants in Jesus and the ultimate defeat of Satan. The episode delves into the final judgment, the division of humanity into believers and non-believers, and their respective destinations. Finally, we explore the creation of a new heaven and earth, the dwelling of God with believers, and the presence of the tree of life in the new garden city, Jerusalem.Suggested Reading:Revelation 20:1-15Revelation 21:1-27Revelation 22:1-21Episode Highlights:The final 7-year tribulation period and its significanceJesus's 1000-year reign from JerusalemThe fulfillment of Biblical covenants in ChristSatan's final defeat and the last judgmentThe new creation and eternal life with GodSupport the showRead along with us in the Bible Brief App! The disciples are given a mission - to make disciples from all nations and spread the kingdom message. On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit descends upon the disciples, empowering them to speak in different languages and spread the message to people from all over the world. We witness many thousands of people become believers, including Paul, a persecutor of the Church who becomes a dedicated follower of Jesus after encountering him on the road to Damascus. Finally, we meet John, banished to the island of Patmos, receiving visions of future events. Through John, we're offered a glimpse into the return of Jesus and the establishment of his kingdom.Suggested ReadingsMatthew 28:1-20Acts 2:1-47Acts 9:1-31Episode HighlightsJesus' final commission to His disciples before ascending to heavenThe dramatic events of Pentecost and the Holy Spirit's empowermentPeter's powerful sermon leading to 3,000 new believersPaul's extraordinary conversion on the Damascus roadJohn's exile to Patmos and his glimpse of future eventsSupport the showRead along with us in the Bible Brief App! In this session, we explore the historical account of the division of the Kingdom of Israel and the Kingdom of Judah. We witness the consequences of the rebellion and sin of both kingdoms, leading to their ultimate downfall at the hands of foreign empires. Despite warnings from prophets, the Kingdom of Israel falls to the Assyrian Empire in 722 BC, and later the Kingdom of Judah suffers the same fate at the hands of the Babylonian Empire. In this episode of the Long Range Shooting and Custom Rifle Building Podcast, Jamie continues our deep-dive series into the Wolf Precision Rifle Build Kits—specifically the Level 1 / unassembled kit and why our professional inspection of every component matters. Jamie shares real-world examples from 20+ years of building custom rifles, including the hidden stock and chassis issues that can damage triggers, receivers, create feeding problems, or cripple accuracy before the rifle ever sees the range. He explains why having a gunsmith inspect every component—actions, barrels, stocks, chassis, triggers, inlets, action screws and more—can save you money, time, and heartache while guaranteeing that your rifle actually performs when you put it together. We also dive into the new Wolfpack program, how the Lone Wolf, Pack Hunter, and Alpha Pack tiers work, the massive discounts they offer, and how they integrate directly with the Level 1, 2, and 3 build kit system—plus early access to the Prosumer Gunsmithing School starting December 1st. If you're considering building a Wolf Precision rifle, want to save money without sacrificing performance, or simply want to understand how to avoid the most common build-kit mistakes, this is a must-listen episode.
