And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him. (Genesis 5:24) ~~~~ This sermon was preached at Oakington Strict Baptist Chapel. (Audio only and just the sermon) ~~~~ *Enoch is held up as an example in scripture for 3 things:* *1/ His walk with God - Genesis 5:22-24 2/ His bold testimony of coming Judgement - Jude 1:14-15 3/ His faith in readiness to be taken to be with the Lord - Hebrews 11:5* **Sermon Summary:** The sermon centers on Enoch as a model of a life fully devoted to God, emphasizing three essential marks of such a walk: a genuine, inward transformation rooted in the new birth and sustained by faith in Christ's atoning work; a bold, unwavering testimony to the coming judgment of God, exemplified by Enoch's prophetic warning in a corrupt age; and a life of faith characterized by readiness for Christ's return, trusting in God's promise of redemption. Drawing from Genesis, Jude, Hebrews, and the Psalms, the message underscores that true walking with God is not a mere outward imitation but a heart-transformed life marked by humility, obedience, spiritual discernment, and continual dependence on divine grace. It calls believers to reject worldly conformity, embrace the Word as their guide, and live with the expectancy of Christ's return, not for personal gain but as a faithful witness to the truth. Ultimately, the sermon invites the hearer to seek a daily, intimate communion with God, knowing that the same grace that enabled Enoch to walk with God is available to all who believe, and that one day, faith will be replaced by sight in the eternal presence of the Lord.

Behave Yourself. Not because you're trying to earn salvation ā but because you've received it.
In this Extraordinary series message, Hilary shares from Romans 5:17 about what it means to reign in life through Jesus Christ. She explains that while sin and death once ruled through Adam, Jesus now invites us to live in triumph through His abundant grace and gift of righteousness. Reigning in life isn't about ease or status. It's about living with resurrection power and confidence in the One who reigns forever (Ephesians 1:19ā21).Drawing from Paul's letters and his story in 2 Corinthians, Hilary shows that true victory often appears in weakness and dependence on God. Like Paul, we can say, āWhen I am weak, then I am strongā (2 Corinthians 12:9ā10). Even in pressure, pain, or uncertainty, God's power works within us. By fixing our eyes on Jesus ā the risen, reigning Lord (Hebrews 12:2) ā we find strength, perspective, and purpose. We reign not by avoiding trials but by overcoming through His life in us.
Sirach 3:17-18, 20, 28-29 (Humble yourself so you will find favour in the sight of the Lord) Hebrews 12:18-19, 22-24 (You have come to Mount Sion and to the city of the living God)
"Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of His glory." Isaiah 6:3Holiness is not merely one attribute of God, it is the very beauty of all that He is. It is the totality of His moral perfection. God's holiness is the infinite distance between His purity, and all that is defiled. God is not just sinless, He is utterly "other"--exalted above all creation in majestic sanctity. "God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all" 1 John 1:5In Heaven's courts, the seraphim cry, not love, love, love--nor power, power, power--but holy, holy, holy. This threefold repetition is not poetic flourishāit is the language of awe. His holiness is absolute, incomparable, and consuming. It strikes terror in the hearts of the guilty, and causes the redeemed to fall in humility and reverent wonder before Him.When Isaiah beheld the LORD high and lifted up, he did not marvel at God's wisdom or rejoice in His loveāhe was undone by His holiness. "Woe to me!" he cried. For in the presence of perfect purity . . . every sin is seen as vile, every excuse is silenced, and every boast is laid in the dust. The cross alone, unveils the cost of approaching such a God. Divine love did not lower the standardādivine holiness demanded that the sinless Son, suffer in the place of the guilty. There, righteousness and mercy met. There, the Holy One made a way for the unholy. What gloryāthat sinners, once rebels, may now draw near! Clothed in the righteousness of Christ, we are called not only to behold God's holinessābut to reflect it. "Without holiness no one will see the Lord" Hebrews 12:14Let us then worship with trembling, walk with purity, and hate every stain of sin.

1 CORINTHIANS Correction With Confidence Because The Faithfulness Of God TowardĀ His Saints!Ā Ā Ā Ā 1 Corinthians 4:14ā21 (ESV) ā 14 I do not write these things to make you ashamed, but to admonish you as my beloved children. 15 For though you have countless guides in Christ, you do not have many fathers. For I became your father in Christ Jesus through the gospel. 16 I urge you, then, be imitators of me. 17 That is why I sent you Timothy, my beloved and faithful child in the Lord, to remind you of my ways in Christ, as I teach them everywhere in every church. 18 Some are arrogant, as though I were not coming to you. 19 But I will come to you soon, if the Lord wills, and I will find out not the talk of these arrogant people but their power. 20 For the kingdom of God does not consist in talk but in power. 21 What do you wish? Shall I come to you with a rod, or with love in a spirit of gentleness? Ā Ā THE GOALS OF A LOVING FATHER IN CHRIST (v14-17) Ā ADMONISHMENT (V14)Ā Ephesians 6:4 (ESV) ā 4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline? 8 If you are left without discipline, in which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. 9 Besides this, we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us and we respected them. Shall we not much more be subject to the Father of spirits and live? 10 For they disciplined us for a short time as it seemed best to them, but he disciplines us for our good, that we may share his holiness. 11 For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. 12 THEREFORE lift your drooping hands and strengthen your weak knees, 13 and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be put out of joint but rather be healed.

Chris Daniszewski preaches from Hebrews 12:3-17
Words and their meaning are important. One can say faith, merit, mediator, reward, and gift but still be incorrect concerning salvation. Scripture is clear: without faith, good works do not please the Lord (Hebrews 11:6). However, faith in CHRIST as our Mediator is the key to our salvation and the fulfillment of good works. The rewards are many when one does good works, but those works are not rewarded with salvation. The way to salvation is not by being our own mediator. but by leaning on Christ as our only mediator. āBe strong in the Lord, In armor of light; With shield for the fight; on prayer be dependent, be belted and shod. Dr. Clarence Shuler is the President and CEO of his nonprofit BLR- which stands for Building Lasting Relationships. Their mission is to equip others for discipleship in various venues. He and his wife both speak and write about marriage, but also dealing with infidelity, and divorce, but they especially love to minister to singles in the church. Whatever it looks like, the Shulers are committed to āloving people with God's love with no agenda and see what happens.ā During our conversation today, Dr. Shuler shared his story of coming to Christ through a relationship that would impact his life in many ways, through a young guy by the name of Gary Chapman. Yup, the Love Languages guy. I share that because their relationship gave birth to 50+ years of friendship and an opportunity to share how crossing those racial lines in the 1960s taught them both and continues to guide them in helping others learn how to embrace cross-cultural friendships today. Dr. Shuler himself does quite a bit of diversity training for companies, and for churches, and brings such gracious honesty to the table about what it has been like for him as a Black man in predominately white spaces. His most recent book is a really powerful and raw look into his journey with depression and a sense of hopelessness. The book is called Finding Hope in Dark Places: Facing Loneliness, Depression, and Anxiety with the Power of Grace. He coauthored it with his therapist, Dr. Monique Smith Gadson, otherwise known as Dr. Mo. Their book is unique in that it gives an honest narrative of Clarence's personal experiences as he walked out the darkest place of his life, but also shows his relationship with his counselor and how she was able to help him in that season. It is full of spiritual and mental health wisdom, it does not end tied in a bow, but it is overflowing with hope. Dr. Shuler hopes that sharing his journey will empower anyone, but especially Black men, to embrace vulnerability and find God's power and healing in weakness. I also want to echo this powerful reminder Dr. Shuler gives in this episode: Being in a dark place is not a sin. It is a place for the Lord to reveal Himself in a whole new way. We see throughout scripture about the Lord shepherding us in dark places, and in this world, we will know and have trouble, but we will never be alone and He will help us to find our hearts again there. He is not finished with you, friend. You matter and your story matters. Anticipating the Day of the Lord | Hebrews 8 | New covenant
Christ is the antitype of the ark. He is the only way to the heavenly Canaan. The way to glory through the Jordan River (a type of death) is an untrodden and trackless path. All men must eventually go through the river of death, but only once. And those who pass through it have never gone that way before. However, before crossing the Jordan, Israel was commanded to consecrate themselves. In the ceremonial sense, Israel was commanded to consecrate themselves by washing their bodies and clothes, as well as abstaining from relations with their wives. In the moral sense, Israel was commanded to consecrate themselves by prayer, meditation, and the repentance of sin. In order to pass through the river of death to the heavenly Canaan, believers must be sanctified. For without holiness, no man shall see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14).
