Legendary combat sports commentator, Mike Goldberg, spent nearly two decades with the UFC, starting in 1997 and making his exit in 2016. He then spent about four-years as a voice for Bellator MMA from 2017 to 2021. Now, the one they call ‘Goldie' is commentating some bare knuckle at BYB Extreme 23 on January 18th, which is a Thursday show. Before sitting Trigon-side, Mike Goldberg caught up with Bloody Elbow for an interview.Bloody Elbow is fighting for the sport, the fighters and the fans. If you share our mission, please consider becoming a paid subscriber today.Mike Goldberg spoke about how he linked up with BYB Extreme, versus how he used to try and score gigs in the olden days. He also mentions how he gets to say his catchphrase ‘It's all over' much more frequently now working a bare knuckle event than he did working MMA cards. With Bellator's sale to the PFL finally official, Eddie asked Mike about what the future might look like for one Scott Coker, as well as a spate of other questions.Being a good sport, Goldie also relived some of his most famous flubs from over the years, from Watt Miman to the Progidy, which will forever live on through fight lore. I also got to be the one to inform him that Travis Lutter, A.K.A. ‘the Michael Jordan of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu,' actually has a son named Jourdan, and he actually just won his MMA debut by RNC in the first round last October.Bloody Elbow will be on location for the BYB Extreme 23 event on January 18th, so make sure to follow along on our social media platforms to see and hear some of the hustle and bustle. Todays episode I am joined with Mike Goldberg to discuss how women only funds could be more harm than good. With great intentions our Bitclout now DeSo community has started trying to support the females on the platform to be more inclusive but I felt it was actually pushing us further away from the inclusive side. I wanted to have Mike's input to help work through my thoughts on the topic.
On our 4th episode of the American Blue Economy Podcast, we explore coral reefs. Coral reefs contribute to the US economy through areas such as dive tourism (June's episode), support to fisheries (August), and contributions to coastal resilience (November). By one estimate, coral reefs provide economic goods and services worth about $375 billion each year worldwide. NOAA suggests that coral reefs in southeast Florida, for example, have an asset value of $8.5 billion, generating $4.4 billion in local sales, $2 billion in local income, and 70,400 full and part-time jobs. Additionally, in the United States, about half of all federally managed fisheries depend on coral reefs. NOAA's National Marine Fisheries Service estimates the annual commercial and recreational value of U.S. fisheries from coral reefs to be over $200 million. But their future is challenged by a variety of factors, including bleaching, disease, and ocean warming. We will describe these, and our panel of guests will show us how partnerships, science, and technology will keep our coral reefs viable through the 21st century. These brilliant panel members include: Dr. Erica Towle, Lynker Technologies, National Coral Reef Monitoring Program Coordinator. Dr. Joshua Feingold, Professor, Department of Marine & Environmental Sciences, Nova Southeastern University: Welcome Joshua! Mike Goldberg, Co-Founder I.Care, Owner, Key Dives Jim Ritterhoff, Executive Director, Force Blue Kevin O'Brien, President at Papahānaumokuākea Marine Debris Project, Inc, and Dr. Michael Crosby, President & CEO of Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquariu

What is a Creative Director? What do they do? What do they get paid for? Where do you get the skills and training and know-how to be one? Mike Goldberg answers these questions and more. He also talks about his campaigns for Finagle a Bagel and Mentos in Madison, WI. A fine artist, Goldberg does paintings on pieces of wood, and uses his fingers to rub the oil paint into the wood. His character paintings were the backdrop for this ZOOM conversation and Michelle Zeitlin drew out his kernels of gold over the course of the 90 minute conversation. Here is the edited half hour with tips and tools for success that Goldberg offers with generosity of spirit and his Boston accent. From his Manhattan Madison Avenue days with the big ad agencies, to the mid size agencies he's enjoyed on the east coast and the creative director positions he has held for start ups in San Francisco, Goldberg is totally transparent about his journey.
