The Ontario Medical Association has assembled a panel of physicians to discuss what living with COVID could look like in the coming months. • Kevin Frankish discusses wastewater testing for polio. After new reports of polio cases abroad, and virus samples in the wastewater of several other developed countries, Canada intends to start testing wastewater from a number of cities "as soon as possible”. Almost 70 years ago, the most severe polio epidemic on record claimed more than 8,000 victims across the country. About a quarter of those stricken with so-called infantile paralysis were in Ontario. Our former Lieutenant Governor David Onley contracted polio when his was 3 years old.
