Today's episode delivers rapid-fire coverage of the top global and domestic developments shaping America and the world. FBI Monitors Iranian Sleeper Cells as War with Israel Escalates The FBI increases surveillance of suspected Hezbollah operatives inside the U.S., fearing possible terror plots as Israel continues strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. The false report of a hit on Iran's Bushehr plant sparked regional panic, though other key nuclear sites have been damaged. Israel Eyes Fordow Strike as U.S. Prepares Stealth Bomber Option Israeli commandos may attempt a daring assault on the heavily fortified Fordow nuclear facility. Meanwhile, the U.S. considers launching B-2 stealth bombers from Diego Garcia. The base's new lease with China-friendly Mauritius complicates disclosure requirements, raising diplomatic concerns. Peace Talks Stall as Trump Warns Iran and Public Opinion Backs Action Trump's updated peace offer was rejected by Iran. Polling shows 75% of Americans support preventing Iran from getting a nuclear weapon, even if force is necessary. However, some polls show less support for direct U.S. involvement. Trump Withdraws More U.S. Troops from Syria American forces are being consolidated to a single base, with local allies stepping in to fill the gap. The reduction reflects Trump's goal of letting regional players secure their own territory. Panama Sides with China on Canal Ports A Chinese state-owned consortium will take over port operations on both ends of the Panama Canal, rejecting a U.S.-backed bid. The White House is expected to respond next week to this strategic setback. Trump Extends TikTok Sale Deadline in Violation of Law Despite a congressional mandate, Trump grants another 90-day extension for ByteDance to sell TikTok. Legal challenges are expected, though both parties are hesitant to anger young voters. Democrat Governors Cut Off Healthcare for Illegal Immigrants Budget overruns in California, Illinois, and Minnesota are forcing Democrat leaders to scale back health coverage for undocumented migrants. The cuts reveal higher-than-expected migrant numbers and usage, raising questions about official immigration estimates. Portland Decline Mirrors Leftist Unrest Antifa violence continues in Portland, with attacks on ICE facilities and widespread downtown decay. Court documents cite homeless encampments and drug use inside landmark buildings like the U.S. Bancorp Tower, now for sale at an 80% loss. Poll: Democrats Losing Christian Voters Nationwide A new poll shows Christians across denominations overwhelmingly reject the Democratic Party. While Black Christians remain a core base, overall trust is eroding fast, especially in light of cultural and moral concerns. Trade War Hits Canada, Spares Mexico U.S.-Canada trade fell by 10.5% in May, while Mexico saw only a 2.8% drop. Analysts point to Mexico's more diplomatic tone with Trump compared to Canada's confrontational approach. New U.S. Battery Could End Dependence on China A Boston firm, Pure Lithium, is developing a battery that avoids Chinese-dominated minerals and uses lithium from Arkansas. The company could receive $300 million in federal backing to scale production. President Trump's return to the White House has brought a radical shift in U.S.-Mexico ties, reshaping relations between the two neighbors. In this episode, Lisa is joined by Jayme (from the school pilot) and Anna (a member of the Organize 365 team) to talk all about why teachers are feeling so stressed and what can be done to help support educators.  Support for Teachers Some of the resources we found address ways to support teachers who feel overwhelmed by all of the demands of the education field. Some of the ways to support teachers include reducing or streamlining the number of administrative tasks teachers are burdened with, as well as helping teachers get organized. These are all things that we offer inside the The Teacher Workbox system and that will be addressed in Teacher Planning Day this summer.  At Organize 365, we built the Teacher Workbox as a means to support teachers in the administrative side of their job. Teachers receive training in their preparation program on lesson planning, classroom management, and lesson design. We step in to help provide teachers with an organizational system to manage their time and streamline as many tasks as possible.  A Sense of Community Peer support helps ease feelings of teacher overwhelm, and we love that we can offer the supportive community of educators inside the Organize 365 Community App. This is where teachers have the opportunity to share ideas, ask questions, and learn from one another.  Teacher Camp is a live opportunity for teachers and other educators to get to know one another and work in collaboration as we set up our Teacher Workboxes for the coming school year.  How Much Time Are You Wasting? At the end of the episode, both Jayme and Anna confess to having made their own Sunday Basket before purchasing the actual Sunday Basket from Organize 365. They share how much time and money was wasted trying to create a perfect system, when the supplies they really needed were already available through Organize 365. They also reveal how no system they could create on their own was able to support them in the ways they needed because the do-it-yourself system did not come with a course, online community, or Sunday Basket Club that are needed to truly understand how the system works. If you are thinking of going this route, how much time and money are you willing to waste?  EPISODE RESOURCES: Gallup's State of the Schools Report: Insights to Inform Higher Education adn K-12 Leaders 2023 Teacher Shortages: What to Know About Vacancies In Your Region Prioritizing Teachers' Mental Health The Best Benefits You Can Give Educators: Easing Their Mental Load A Dwindling Number of New U.S. College Graduates Have a Degree in Education 2024 Teacher Shortage Statistics Show We Still Have a Long Way to Go Nguyen, T. Thinking LSAT

Ben and Nathan break down the newly released U.S. News law school rankings, including an initial error that caused some confusion. They explain why slight shifts in rankings—like Cornell dropping out of the Top 14 or the new Top 17—shouldn't heavily influence your law school choice. Instead, they stress applying broadly and focusing on schools with the best scholarship offers and employment outcomes.A listener asks if retaking the LSAT is worth it after being rejected or waitlisted by all her top schools. In Pearls vs. Turds, they assess a tip about highlighting adverbs in reading comprehension, noting that understanding their role matters more than marking them up. Then, they offer guidance on handling unanswered questions after timed sections. And what's the deal with Pace Law School? Study with our Free PlanDownload our iOS appWatch Episode 502 on Youtube0:30 – The New U.S. News Rankings (and a Bit of Confusion)Ben and Nathan unpack the latest U.S. News Law School Rankings, which briefly included an incorrect list due to an initial error. A four-way tie at 14th place has turned the usual Top 14 into a Top 17. Their main point: minor ranking shifts shouldn't drive your decision. Focus instead on applying broadly and choosing the school that offers the best mix of scholarship money and job prospects.15:29 – Is It Time to Retake the LSAT?A listener waitlisted or rejected by all her top-choice schools asks for advice. Ben and Nathan agree she should retake the LSAT and reapply. They warn against accepting the steep “waitlist prices” schools often offer. Their advice: apply to at least 10 schools to maximize offers, but don't count long-shot “reach” schools in that total.26:36 – Pearls vs. Turds: Should You Highlight Adverbs? This week's tip suggests highlighting all adverbs in reading comprehension. While adverbs can shape a passage's meaning, the Demon still advises against highlighting. It can become a crutch that replaces real understanding. What matters is grasping their impact, not marking them. Verdict: a pearl—with some polishing.32:30 – What To Do With Unanswered QuestionsA student using the Demon method—focusing on one question at a time and ignoring the clock—asks what to do with leftover questions once time runs out. Ben and Nathan suggest reviewing the questions he attempted and missed first, then finishing the remaining ones untimed, treating them like regular drilling.35:34 – What's the Deal with Pace Law SchoolThis week's What's the Deal With is prompted by former FBI Director Kush Patel leaving Pace Law School off his official bio. Ben and Nathan highlight common concerns with schools like Pace, including conditional scholarships and limited employment outcomes. They also caution against being swayed by marketing claims like “number one ranked environmental law program” and encourage students to focus on scholarship offers and job prospects.1:02:51 - Word of the Week - StruthiousIf the reckless disregard standard... served merely as a substitute for willful misconduct—to prevent the defendant from "deliberately blinding himself to the consequences of his tortuous action"—section (b)(3) would be redundant since section (b)(2) already covers such struthious conduct.
