In this episode, nutrition expert Sally Fallon Morell, who is also founding president of the Weston A. Price Foundation, educates us about what constitutes healthy food. The Weston A. Price Foundation (WAPF) for two decades has been recognized as an independent source for accurate information on nutrition and health. Topics covered in this interview: The freedom and liberty to tell the truth about nutrition, versus relying on government-funded studies and recommendations that include many unhealthy foods. The basis of good health, which is a nutrient-based diet that includes the fats and organ meats of grass-fed animals, and the importance of Vitamin K2 found in them. Raw whole milk and liver are also promoted. Encouraging people to use half of their food budget to purchase directly from farmers and artisans. The toxicity of many breakfast cereals, which are the number one revenue producer in the whole world (and have the highest profit margins). Healthy foods have a smaller profit margin, according to Sally. Procter & Gamble was originally a candle company before creating Crisco, which Sally claims is not healthy and lard is a better fat, as is butter. Soy is “extremely toxic,” which is given to many prisoners. Deficiencies in children's diets, many of whom are starving for much-needed fats. Challenging viral theory, and exploring 5G technology as a toxic contributor to COVID. Sally Fallon Morell is best known as the author of Nourishing Traditions: The Cookbook that Challenges Politically Correct Nutrition and the Diet Dictocrats (over 700,000 copies sold). She is the founding president of the Weston A. Price Foundation and editor of the Foundation's quarterly magazine. She is also president and owner of NewTrends Publishing, serving as editor and publisher. She is the author of eight books, including Eat Fat Lose Fat, co-authored with Dr. Mary Enig; Nourishing Broth, co-authored with Kaayla T. Daniel, PhD, CCN; Nourishing Fats; and Nourishing Diets. For the last few decades, the government has been telling us what to eat and what not to eat. Somehow their advice to eat low-fat, limit cholesterol, avoid red meat, and the like hasn't done us any favors. We are less healthy as a populace than ever before. These principles have unfortunately led us in the wrong direction. Sally Fallon Morell is the president of the Weston A. Price Foundation and the author of “Nourishing Traditions,” “Nourishing Broth,” “Nourishing Diets” and more. Sally understands what it takes to nourish people well. The secret lies in returning to ancestral traditions. Today, Sally contrasts the government's guidelines with timeless traditions. Sally debunks the erroneous advice with ancestral wisdom and science to back it up. She reminds us how to maximize nutrients like our ancestors did to return to and maintain excellent health. In this podcast I talk with Sally about her most recent book Nourishing Diets: How Paleo, Ancestral and Traditional Peoples Really Ate. Sally's past work on traditional diet brought me back from a year of vegetarianism, and has been incredibly influential on my newfound health. But her new book takes it to a whole new level. Going back into diary accounts from the pre-industrial Europeans and the first explorers to have contact with traditional peoples in the Americas, Africa, and Australia she paints a compelling picture of their diet, impeccable health and how they managed their land holistically. Never before have I read such an inspiring account of what is possible when the health of land and the health of its people are viewed as one. Sally shares her wisdom on: * What the most universal human diseases is (I guarantee you have it) * The insidious origins of our iconic food pyramid * The importance of fat, salt, and carbs in our diet * Why our government and educational institutions are so antagonistic to traditional diets and optimal human health * The "natural selection of the wise" * How wilderness is a "dirty" word in traditional cultures * And so much more! On this episode we're diving deep into the broth of edu-tastement! Chef Lance Roll takes us through a journey about the story behind the healing powers of bone broth and how it has been revolutionizing the health and wellness industry for the past couple of years. Heal, With Bone Broth! The Flavor Chef, Lance Roll, has been cooking professionally for 25 years. His career started in 1998 when he joined the team with Chef Mark Strausman at Sapore Di Mare in New York. He spent 2.5 years there learning classical European cooking principals and Tuscan Cuisine. Heal Your Gut, Heal Your Immune System Armed with the knowledge of the body’s natural healing capacity and being a lifelong student of food, Chef Lance Roll comes in and brings us why and how bone broth aids in repairing our bodies and leading us toward holistic health and wellness. He stands firmly behind bone broth as he himself has gone through an amazing transition, going through his personal path of healing his own health issues. Listen As Chef Lance Uncovers The healing transition he went through after he discovered the power of bone broth Being Paul Chek’s student and personal chef His favorite books from health and wellness experts who swear by the healing properties of bone broth How bone broth can actually reduce protein intake for people Organic, grass-fed animals where bone broth should be taken from and the process it takes to get certified His morning routine, which I also do - and you should also be doing! The Bone Broth Process Chicken soup and bone broth isn’t just good for the soul: there’s a reason that it’s prescribed by doctors and mothers alike when you’re feeling under the weather. All bone broths: beef, chicken, fish, lamb and more are staples in the traditional diets of every culture because bone broths are nutrient-dense, easy to digest, rich in flavor and–they boost the body’s ability to heal. Chef Lance Roll takes us through the process by which bone broth is made, and how long the certain process takes. Bone broth can be done at home or obtained from external sources - but we have to make sure we get them from certified organic suppliers and that the animals were treated without cruelty. B.R.O.T.H.: Blessed Return Of Traditional Healing Your body doesn’t recognize chemicals; it recognizes food. Chef Lance is a big believer in using food as a healing modality, and he talks about how our bodies don’t really react to the chemicals in the things we eat. He goes back to the traditional way of cooking - prep it, cook it, eat it. There is an emphasis here on the importance of authentic food - food that can actually be recognized by the body, and therefore can be digested and used for healing and repair. Daniel, PhD, CCN The follow-up book to the hugely best-selling Nourishing Traditions, which has sold over 500,000 copies, this time focusing on the immense health benefits of bone broth by the founder of the popular Weston A Price Foundation. Nourishing Traditions examines where the modern food industry has hurt our nutrition and health through over-processed foods and fears of animal fats. NOURISHING BROTH will continue the look at the culinary practices of our ancestors, and it will explain the immense health benefits of homemade bone broth due to the gelatin and collagen that is present in real bone broth (vs. broth made from powders). NOURISHING BROTH will explore the science behind broth's unique combination of amino acids, minerals and cartilage compounds. Some of the benefits of such broth are: quick recovery from illness and surgery, the healing of pain and inflammation, increased energy from better digestion, lessening of allergies, recovery from Crohn's disease and a lessening of eating disorders because the fully balanced nutritional program lessens the cravings which make most diets fail. Kaayla Daniel, also known as the Naughty Nutritionist, talks to me this week about how to recover from soy. Yes, I said recover, because soy is not a health food, but damages our health in many ways. We’re also going to talk about her new book about bone broths called Nourishing Broth, on which she is collaborating with Sally Fallon Morell. Transcript Click here to view the full transcript for #39 Recovering from Soy with Kaayla Daniel. Soy is not a health food. It should be avoided completely or eaten only on rare occasions and in fermented forms. The soybean is now being linked to breast cancer, thyroid disease, menstrual and fertility issues, as well as severe allergies, compromised immunity and brain damage. SOY DANGERS SUMMARIZED High levels of phytic acid in soy reduce assimilation of calcium, magnesium, copper, iron and zinc. Phytic acid in soy is not neutralized by ordinary preparation methods such as soaking, sprouting and long, slow cooking. High phytate diets have caused growth problems in children. Trypsin inhibitors in soy interfere with protein digestion and may cause pancreatic disorders. In test animals, soy containing trypsin inhibitors caused stunted growth. Soy phytoestrogens disrupt endocrine function and have the potential to cause infertility and to promote breast cancer in women. Soy phytoestrogens are potent antithyroid agents that cause hypothyroidism and may cause thyroid cancer. In infants, consumption of soy formula has been linked to autoimmune thyroid disease. Vitamin B12 analogs in soy are not absorbed and actually increase the body’s requirement for B12. Soy foods increase the body’s requirement for vitamin D. Soy infant formula can cause lifelong allergies, autoimmune thyroid disease, asthma, and attention deficit disorder. Fragile proteins are deformed during high temperature processing to make soy protein isolate and textured vegetable protein, making them very difficult to digest. Processing of soy protein results in the formation of toxic lysinoalanine and highly carcinogenic nitrosamines. Free glutamic acid or MSG, a potent neurotoxin, is formed during soy food processing and additional amounts are added to many soy foods. Soy foods contain high levels of aluminum that is toxic to the nervous system and the kidneys. Soy HEALTH PROBLEMS SUMMARIZED Thyroid problems: including weight gain, lethargy, depression, fatigue, hair loss, and loss of libido Premature puberty Weight gain Estrogen Dominance Syndrome Developmental delays and problems in babies, children, and adolescents Asthma Causes and exacerbates endometriosis Cancer Brain damage, reducing production of new brain cells Dementia Reproductive disorders Reduced Fertility Kidney stones Weakened immune system Severe food allergies Man boobs and reduced sex drive in men About Kaayla Daniel Kaayla T. She serves as Vice President of the Weston A. Price Foundation and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund. In 2005, Dr. Daniel received the Weston A. Price Foundation's Integrity in Science Award. Russell Blaylock, Larry Dossey, Nicholas Gonzalez, Joseph Mercola, Kilmer McCully, Doris J. Rapp and Jonathan Wright. The Whole Soy Story is a groundbreaking expose that tells the truth about soy that scientists know but that the soy industry has tried to suppress. Soy is not a health food, does not prevent disease and has not even been proven safe. Epidemiological, clinical and laboratory studies link soy to malnutrition, digestive problems, thyroid dysfunction, Are toxic metals causing your fatigue and health issues?
