In today's Daily Fix:Layoffs have hit BioWare as the company restructures to focus on the next Mass Effect game. Some of the staff from Dragon Age: The Veilguard have reportedly been let go, while others have been moved to other teams. Dragon Age: The Veilguard apparently did not meet financial expectations from BioWare, but the game did achieve critical success. IN other news, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 50-series cards are sold out everwhere, but gamers with deep pockets can find them on eBay...for three times the price. Some of the 5090 cards are going for as much as $6,000, way up from the MSRP of $2K. And finally, the PlayStation anniversary themes for the PS5 are going away, but maybe temporarily. Sony is looking to keep them on your system for good if you want them, and maybe this will open up the path for more custom themes like on the PS3 and PS4.
In 2019, Todd Phillips' Joker, though divisive, received heaps of praise and a box office shattering $1 billion+ take. Joker: Folie à Deux, however, received none of that acclaim or success. That is for good reason. Joker: Folie à Deux is a meandering mess of a film — one that features impromptu musical segments. Those songs, shockingly, are not at all the issue. Instead of carrying on Arthur Fleck's story, Folie à Deux just sort of castrates the character. Certainly, it can be argued that Fleck never intended to become the Joker. But he did. Going back on that in every conceivable way makes for a film with no identity. It honestly feels as if Phillips did not want to make this movie. Their is a palpable disdain that can be felt throughout its trudging two hours. Which begs the question: Why, aside from the potential for a big theatrical haul, was it ever greenlit? The script, like Fleck, is empty. Now, sit back, feed your psychoses with a Psychedelic Rabbit from New Realm Brewing, and stop harassing poor Mr. Puddles! Charles Mayfield is the founder of Farrow Skincare, an animal-based skincare product that does not contain fillers, additives, and other harmful chemicals. Charles became fascinated by the benefits of lard on the skin when he made the connection between the biology of humans and pigs. The origins of Farrow all started after a long day out in the July Tennessee sun. Charles decided to use some lard from his farm to protect his skin from peeling out of necessity and it wasn't until the next day that he realized his skin never peeled and his burn had vanished. At that point, Charles realized he was on to something. Now, Charles is on a mission to bring lard-based skincare to the masses and convince people to throw away their toxic skin creams.Farrow Skincare - Use CODE 'MEATMAFIA' at checkout for 20% OFFKey topics discussed:- Metabolic health and its impact on overall well-being- Benefits of animal-based products for skin and nutrition- Evaluating conventional health advice vs independent thinking- Addressing skin conditions through natural products- The role of hormones and their regulation in health and wellnessTimestamps:(00:32) Skincare and Entrepreneurship Chat(04:27) Connecting at Hack Your Health Conference(18:29) Nutrient-Rich Shake Recipes and Social Connections(22:19) Health Transformation and Empowerment(26:23) Lost Intuition in Skincare Industry(36:20) History and Significance of Pig Farming(42:09) Pigs and Human Health*** SPONSOR ***CrowdHealth - They're providing an alternative to health care coverage in the form of a community-based approach. We've both used this service for the last two years. The plaintiff says she gave her expensive piano to the defendant to sell on consignment. She claims that not only did he not tell her he sold it, but he also never paid her, so she's suing him. The defendant says the piano market is bad. He claims he sent the plaintiff a good-faith payment when someone wanted to buy her piano, but they backed out. Then, the plaintiff says the defendant shattered her sliding glass door when he was doing some landscaping on the premises, but he refuses to pay for the repair. He's giving her the runaround, so she's suing for the cost. The defendant says he doesn't know how it happened, and he offered to replace the glass. Now the plaintiff wants a whole new door. Plus, the plaintiff says a ceiling leak destroyed his big-screen smart TV, but he claims his landlord — the defendant — denies any responsibility. He's suing him for the value of the TV. The defendant's legal counsel says the TV is seven years old and isn't worth anything. The defendant has filed a countersuit for malicious prosecution. Hershall, what a day is all I can say! Thanks for listening in again. Twas a wonderful time we had today. We started off with a heated (not really) debate about clapping in church. Following that, I actually jokingly (big word that never flows well when spoken) quit the podcast to be a sailor. The Songleader gave an emotional review followed by many more reviews. We learned what a high class chuckle is and we discussed a popular eating establishment which is the hot e of their signature roll throwing. That led to the flawless delivery of a joke I made up on the fly (pun intended). We talked about whistling off key and many other unimportant topics... Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers continued to light up the silver screen in 1937, and it was the Gershwin brothers -- Ira and George -- who were responsible for the nominated song that accompanied their song-and-dance routine. Not to be outdone, Bing Crosby makes a play for a hit song with a lullaby, written by an old friend who had no plans to work in Hollywood.

The hills are alive with the sound of scammersSinging lies and deceits that are decades old.Their songs fill my heart with hopes of stardom,But they just steal my songs and leave me broke.Musicians that travel to Nashville, Los Angeles, New York, Austin and other music centers are looking for a break and scammers step right up to boost their egos and brag about the now-famous who became stars only after meeting them. It's quite a temptation and hopefuls rarely do the due diligence to find out whether what they're being told is true.Fans get duped, too, by musicians who seem to overflow with talent, but are only good at syncing the silent instrument they hold to a recording playing through a nearby speaker. We'll tell you the tales of how the sound of music ends up being the sound of cash being taken from your pocket. It results in a tragic ending, set in a minor key.Col. Tom Parker profile from Smithsonian MagazineDavid Hooper: Music Business RadioDavid Hooper books

"Leaders of organizations tend to be controlling, but the ability to let things go and see where the journey takes us can be more powerful." Peter Margaritis This is an excerpt from the book, Off Script: Mastering the Art of Business Improvisation. Leadership is not about self-promotion, being the center of attention, talking as much as you can, speaking in the third person, always being right, even when you're wrong, disrespecting others, or being a narcissist. However, in some organizations, these traits are viewed as effective leadership skills, which is the slippery slope to the leaders and potentially the organization's demise." The one skill that helps to save people's careers and organizations is the art of listening. Leadership is all about becoming a better listener. Leadership is all about listening to understand versus listening to respond. Listening to understand means you genuinely want to understand what is being said to you directly, in the room as you participate in a meeting, or while attending a presentation as an audience member. When you listen to understand, you park your ideas and biases somewhere else, and you go out of your way to eliminate all distractions while listening. When you're exhibiting the kind of listening skills worthy of a true leader, you suspend your judgment, set your ego aside to focus on listening to what the other person is trying to communicate, and you do so all the while managing your emotions. When you are "listening to respond" rather than "listening to understand," you aren't fully listening to what is being said. We can all strengthen our listening skills if we work on them daily. Leaders of organizations tend to be controlling, but the ability to let things go and see where the journey takes us can be more powerful. Improv exercises teach us practical skills that can be applied in moments when the gameplay is the furthest thing from our minds. They can teach you and your team how to be better communicators and leaders. When practiced often, these improv games give you muscle memory of how to behave in real-world situations.
