I spent 15 years only watching sports because of my life at ESPN, so I missed the initial Duck Dynasty craze—but getting to know Willie and Korie Robertson today was exactly what my soul needed. We go far beyond the camo and the beards to discuss the raw reality of family, faith, and what happens when your life changes overnight. In this episode, Korie and Willie get incredibly honest about their "rough start"—including a breakup at 17 and a "knockdown drag-out" fight with Korie's father before they got married at 18 and 19. We talk about the psychology of sudden fame, the "ginger angel" that changed Willie's health, and the "nuclear reactor" of stress that comes with running a family business while filming a hit TV show. We also dive deep into why they never left their hometown, how they handled the loss of the legendary Phil Robertson, and their mission to bring good news and revival to a world that feels increasingly dark. Whether you're a longtime fan or new to their journey, this conversation is a masterclass in resilience and staying rooted in what matters. Sponsors: Good Ranchers - Subscribe and save up to $500. In this fascinating episode of the Compared to Who? podcast, Heather Creekmore is joined by Dr. Brook Sheehan to explore the topic of listening to your body—addressing misconceptions, fears, and spiritual questions that often come up in conversations about health and self-care. Dr. Brook Sheehan shares her powerful personal story, including growing up in a conventional medical model, her diagnosis with cerebral palsy, and her journey to becoming a chiropractor. In Part 1 of this conversation, Jamie sits down with nurse practitioner Jaclyn Taylor to pull wellness out of the “buzzword” category and into real life. They talk about why so many people feel stuck—fatigued, anxious, gaining weight, losing motivation—and why the first step isn't a perfect plan…it's being listened to. Jaclyn breaks down what the Your Health Wellness Program offers, how bioidentical hormone replacement therapy works, and why “normal labs” don't always mean you're actually okay. The new Rural Health Transformation Program aims to improve “healthcare access, quality, and outcomes” with $50 billion aimed at making changes to the healthcare delivery ecosystem. Keeping an eye on the state applications, the federal money awarded and how it will be used is Sarah Jane Tribble, lead rural health reporter at KFF Health News.On this episode of “Conversations on Health Care,” hosts Mark Masselli and Margaret Flinter speak with Tribble as she offers a clear-eyed look at what this funding can and cannot do.“This funding came as part of the big tax and spending bill, at a moment when rural America was facing deep Medicaid cuts,” Tribble explains. “The conversation in Congress was that this would help make up for those losses.”But she warns that transparency and accountability will determine whether the program succeeds.“I want to see the full applications posted publicly,” Tribble says. “We need to be able to hold officials accountable and make sure rural Americans are actually getting the benefit Congress intended.”The conversation also surfaces some unexpected ideas tucked inside state proposals. From drones delivering prescriptions in Alaska to robotics improving maternity care in Alabama, states are experimenting with technology to reach communities where in-person care is scarce and broadband access remains unreliable. At the heart of the discussion is a larger question about expectations.“I don't want anyone to hear ‘better than nothing' when we talk about rural health care,” Tribble says. “I don't want my grandmother or my mother to have better than nothing. I want them to have the best standard of care.”See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

The Big Unlock · Lisa Hunter, Senior Director of Federal Policy & Advocacy, United States of Care In this episode, Lisa Hunter, Senior Director of Federal Policy and Advocacy at United States of Care, discusses how her organization is working to ensure every American has access to affordable, high-quality care, with a particular focus on rural communities. She explains the new Rural Health Transformation Program—a 50-billion-dollar, five-year federal investment that gives states a rare opportunity to redesign rural health delivery, address workforce gaps, and move toward “patient first care” models that emphasize coordination, whole-person care, and sustainable payment structures. Lisa highlights a growing trust gap around AI in healthcare, noting that patients are more comfortable with AI in back-office and ambient use cases compared to roles that feel like they replace clinicians. She stresses the need for rigorous listening, research, and language that resonates with people, so policy and technology decisions reflect real experiences rather than abstract concepts. Take a listen.

On this episode of RNT Fitness Radio, I'm joined by long-time RNTer, Anila. Who, to be honest, is completely unrecognizable since where she started three years ago. Anila is down 30 kilos, but more than that her confidence has completely shot through the roof. Send us a textIn this episode, I share some exciting news—my podcast was recently recognized as one of the top nutrition and fitness podcasts! But here's the truth: it didn't happen overnight. It's the result of small, consistent steps taken over five years. And that's exactly the lesson I want to pass on to you. When it comes to health and fitness, it's not about being perfect—it's about progress. One small win at a time.I'll walk you through:Why the myth of overnight success is holding you back in fitness. How even simple swaps—like high-protein yogurt or drinking water before coffee—can add up.Client stories that show how small wins beat extreme diets every time. Why consistency, not perfection, creates lasting results.

Looking back, my life used to feel like a constant uphill battle—dealing with ADHD, relying on heavy meds just to function, and barely scraping by in school. I was skinny, anxious, disconnected from who I really was. But everything changed the summer I stumbled into a neuroscience program at the University of Miami. Learning about neuroplasticity and realizing I could literally rewire my brain was a turning point. That summer, I quit Adderall cold turkey, hit the gym for the first time, and started building real momentum through lifestyle change. It was raw, it was hard—but it was mine.Fast forward, and that same spark led me to discover a passion for physiology, nutrition, and performance that has shaped everything since. I found mentors, built companies, coached high performers, and leaned into my purpose of helping others optimize their lives from the inside out. I started my podcast, not just to teach, but to learn—and to face one of my biggest fears: public speaking. And man, the growth that came from that? It's been life-changing. I built my life around my values—freedom, authenticity, service—and I've helped hundreds of others do the same. Now, sitting here in my dream home in Miami Beach, I can honestly say: I made it. And I say that with deep gratitude, not arrogance. Not because I have it all figured out, but because I stayed true—said no when I needed to, worked my ass off, and built a life around what really matters. I want this episode to be proof that with discipline, faith, and alignment, it's possible to rewrite your story. And if I can inspire even one person to believe in their own transformation, then this whole journey has been worth it.

“An interdisciplinary approach to medicine is probably the way the future is going to go. There will be dieticians and a whole host of different people involved in helping someone to heal.” —Jonathan Carp For too long, we've been told that health comes in a medicine bottle or a doctor's office, but what if the real power lies in the food we choose every day? If you've ever felt frustrated by quick fixes that don't last or wondered how to make healthy changes that actually stick, you're not alone—and this episode is for you. Dr. Jonathan Carp is a board-certified dermatologist and the founder of Miracle Noodle, a company born from his passion for using nutrition and lifestyle to transform health. With years of experience helping patients and building a wellness brand, he's on a mission to make healthy eating accessible, enjoyable, and truly life-changing. Tune in as Justine and Dr. Carp break down the myths about comfort food, reveal how small changes can lead to big results, and share real stories of healing, grit, and the surprising joy of eating well. Meet Jonathan: A Dermatologist since 2000, Dr. Jonathan Carp started Miracle Noodle in 2006. In 2004, he had a patient who healed herself from lupus through nutritional and lifestyle modification. Since then, he has treated hundreds of patients through lifestyle modification, especially nutritional changes, with a special interest in auto-immune diseases. This has turned into a nutritional obsession that led to his learning about the health benefits of the konjac plant. While he still practices medicine, a significant amount of time is now also devoted to Miracle Noodle and exploring and testing healthy, healing food options based on traditional cultural diets. Dr. Carp firmly believes that all that ails us in the world today could be solved by going back a few generations and making sure that the nutritional wisdom of our ancestors is remembered and combined with the latest science. While Miracle Noodle keeps him busy, it has allowed him the resources to investigate and learn about the nutritional wisdom of the world and how to get products and knowledge out to the world through his patients and his companies.
