Slain New York mother Orsolya Gaal's handyman/lover avoid a murder charge by pleading guilty to manslaughter in the mother's deal.  David Bonola accepted a plead deal and will be sentenced to 25 years in prison.  Prosecutors say Bonola stabbed the 51-year-old wife and mother of two nearly 50 times in her home in April, then stuffed her dismembered body in a duffel bag and dumped it at a park. On April 16, 2022, 51-year-old Orsolya Gaal, a Hungarian-born wife and mother of two sons living in Forest Hills, New York was approached in her home between 12:30 and 12:40 A.M. by 44-year-old Mexico City native, David Bonola and viciously stabbed 55+ times, stuffed into one of her son's hockey duffel bags, and dragged 0.4 miles to the Jackie Robinson highway. The body of wife and mother Orsolya Gaal was in April 2022 inside a rolling hockey bag in New York City. This case has received a lot of media attention due to video footage that showed a man rolling the bag down the street. Police discovered a trail of blood from the bag's location that led directly back to Orsolya's home. Inside they found a very bloody crime scene. On Friday, April 15, 2022, Orsolya Gaal (51) went to see a show with friends and she stopped a bar in her neighborhood before returning to her home in Queens, New York.   Orsolya would never be seen alive by her husband and two sons again.  Orsolya was stabbed around 60 times and her carotid artery and trachea were punctured.  Her body was shoved into a large bag by her murderer.  Police released eerie CCTV footage of a male figure walking away from Orsolya's house, wheeling her body in the bag.  The murderer got less than a mile before he dumped the bag and ran.   Orsolya's body was discovered just hours later by a dog walker.  Orsolya had been having a secret affair with her handyman, David Bonola, for years.  On the night she died, she allegedly told David that their relationship was over.  He was not happy.  On April 20, he walked up to detectives investigating this case and said ‘I hear you are looking for me.'  David confessed to Orsolya's brutal murder and is now in custody. On Tuesday, three days after police say David Bonola, 44, butchered Gaal in her Forest Hills home, NYPD detectives fished out a pair of bloody brown boots from a sanitation truck after it pulled away from the suspect's home, according to law enforcement sources and witnesses Friday. “It was in the afternoon. … The cops came and stopped the truck,” said Harry Maraj, a construction worker who witnessed the moment while sitting in Tropical Jade Roti Express on Liberty Avenue. They took some bags out of the truck and opened them up,” he said. “They took a white bag from truck and a pair of brown boots. The boots weren't in any bag. They put everything in big brown paper bags and left.” Law enforcement sources say they'd already had Bonola on their radar after learning he'd done work at Gaal's home and had an intimate relationship with her. They were surveilling his home and waiting for his garbage to be picked up so they could look through it for clues, sources said. Slain New York mother Orsolya Gaal's handyman/lover arrested for her murder. Police say Gaal and David Bonola had a two-year affair,  which had recently ended. The handyman lover of Queens mom Orsolya Gaal was charged Thursday with her murder – and police said he committed the “horrendous” crime during a fight her over their recently-ended on-off affair of two years. David Bonola, 44, was already on the NYPD's radar Wednesday evening when officers canvassing for surveillance video spotted him near the crime scene and took him back to the 112th precinct. There, Bonola made “incriminating statements” about the slaying, NYPD Chief of Detectives James Essig said at a press conference. He's now facing charges of murder, criminal tampering, and possession of a weapon. Detectives made the decision to pick him up and were in his neighborhood at around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday when he walked up to the officers and said, "I hear you are looking for me." He then apparently proceeded to make a full confession. Bonola had known Gaal from doing work on her house and knew where to find the key, allegedly enabling him to stab her to death while her 13-year-old son was upstairs, unaware of what was happening to his mother. On Thursday morning, police held a press conference revealing that Bonola had been having an intimate affair with Gaal for approximately two years. "We believe that the relationship that Mr. Bonola had with our victim was an intimate type relationship. And this is stemmed to be a domestic type of dispute that they were having over their intimate relationship. They started to get into just regular domestic issues that seem to occur between them," said Lieutenant Timothy Thompson of Queens North Homicide, NYPD. Gaal was at a bar Friday night, the night of her murder, around 11:45 to 12:30 a.m. About ten minutes later police said Bonola showed up to speak to her about their relationship, police said. He was either let in or used a key hidden inside a barbecue. They had a heated argument in the basement of the home. A knife was brandished and NYPD Chief of Detectives James Essig says Gaal was stabbed "ruthlessly and brutally in excess of 55 times." Gaal was dragged through the neighborhood in a large duffel bag, leaving what Essig described as" a bloody trail through the streets of Forest Hills." The bag containing her body was abandoned alongside the Jackie Robinson Parkway. A surveillance image is said to be crucial to the case. It shows a man, believed to be the Bonola, dragging the bag just before daybreak. After disposing of the body, police say Bonola fled through the park, where investigators discovered his jacket. They also found bloody bandages during the investigation and learned Bonola had received treatment for wounds to both hands at a local hospital, Essig said. Gaal's husband was out of town with their elder son and their younger son was in an upstairs bedroom at the time of the murder. Police believe Bonola sent a text message to Gaal's husband from her phone after the murder that referenced a previous crime and indicated the rest of the family was in danger. Police said there was no past crime and no danger to Gaal's husband and two children. A 51-year-old mom of two, stabbed nearly 60 times, found stuffed inside a duffel bag in her Forest Hills neighborhood. A half-mile long blood trail led police to the home Gaal shared with her husband and teen sons. The husband and older son were reportedly out of town on a college campus visit. Police say Orsolya Gaal spent her Friday afternoon with friends at a backyard party, before telling her teen son that she was meeting friends. Police say the woman is seen on surveillance video sitting in a Queens' bar, alone, for nearly an hour. Then at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, a security video captured a man rolling the bloody duffel bag down Juno Street. A man walking his dogs found the body. Gaal's husband says he received a text message threatening him and his children prior to the murder. Whoever sent the text claimed they had been jailed or imprisoned at some point in the past because of Gaal. The suspect allegedly threatened to kill the entire family if the police were contacted. No suspect names have been released and no arrests have been made in the case.
