It's been a season of shifting gears. We started with high costs and cautious optimism, but as the months rolled on, things began looking up - better milk prices, easing interest rates, and a bit more breathing room financially. But what does that actually mean for your farm? And, more importantly, how can you make the most of it? In this episode of Talking Dairy, we take a close look at how the season has played out and what's on the horizon. Mark Storey, Head of Economics at DairyNZ, and Paul Bird, Senior Business Specialist , break down the key trends shaping farm finances right now. They unpack why this $10 payout isn't quite a record in real terms, and why it's important to invest extra income wisely. We also discuss the challenges still at play, including dry conditions in many regions and what that means for feed and milk production. With farmers feeling more positive about the future, we look at what's driving that confidence and what risks - both locally and internationally - could shake things up next season. With a new season just around the corner, now is the time to be thinking ahead. What financial moves should you be making? How can you set your farm up to stay resilient, no matter what's coming? Welcome to the Lovecars On The Grid Podcast, where our hosts Tiff Needell and Paul Woodman bring us a roundup of motorsport events from around the World! This week, we're a day late unfortunately! We have a jam packed list to talk you through, from Formula 1, F2 and F2, to Moto GP in Spain, Indycar and more! Firstly, we pay our respects to Paul Bird. Our thoughts are with Paul's family and friends. In Formula 1, we've had the results of the 2022 cost cap, and reassuringly, all teams managed to stay under the F1 cost cap, even Red Bull! Elsewhere in F1, Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz had his Richard Mille watch stolen, and was involved in a car chase to catch the thief! We've also seen the launch of the first Hydrogen powered racing series! Monza, Italy, is known for its rich racing history, and the Formula 1 Grand Prix lived up to the hype this weekend. The event showcased fierce competition among the world's top drivers, and the weekend was marked by unexpected twists and turns. The Spanish MotoGP at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya delivered its own brand of adrenaline-pumping action. The Indycar series delivered another thrilling chapter in the world of American open-wheel racing.
