Alvaro Bautista was sublime on his quest to the 2022 World Superbike title. However, some cried foul and said the Spaniard had an unfair weight advantage.

Greg is joined by former double World Superbike champion James Toseland to pick through an action-packed weekend of racing in Navarra that leaves Toprak Razgatlioglu and Jonathan Rea neck and neck at the top of the standings and Scott Redding ready to pounce. James and Greg agree that should Northern Irishman Rea win his seventh title, it may be his best achievement while adding that the 34-year-old could soon train his eyes on becoming a 10-time world champion. Elsewhere, the conversation turns to Scott Redding's decision to move from Ducati to BMW, with James noting that a relationship breakdown between rider and team most likely led to the switch. But how successful will the former MotoGP rider be at BMW? To finish, James and Greg discuss silly season. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Welcome to Episode 21 of the Lovecars On the Grid Podcast, where we've had a jam packed week of motorsport! We start with Paul Woodman's race in the Caterham Academy, which was at Brands Hatch this week. Even with Tiff Needell there to cheer him on, Paul unfortunately had a disappointing race, having chose the wrong tyres for the race this time. This comes after choosing the wrong tyres for qualifying at Silverstone at the last race! Full video to come soon and next race at Croft with just three races to go. Can Paul get a podium in the last few races? What do you think? In British GT, the cars were in the rain at Snetterton this week, with wins from Aston Martin and Mercedes. In DTM, Alexander Albon had a tough couple of races in his AlphaTauri Ferrari, finishing 5th overall at Zolder circuit. In Moto GP, perhaps the biggest news was the announcement of the retirement of Valentino Rossi, who will hang up his leathers after 25 years racing as 'The Doctor' in Moto GP. In the Grand Prix itself, there was a red flag after lap 3 at the Styrian Grand Prix, after a crash involving Dani Pedrosa and Lorenzo Salvadori which caused bikes to burst into flames in a very dramatic event. In World Superbikes, the riders were in the Czech Republic, and Irish rider Jonathan Rea saw his Championship lead reduced after finishing in 3rd place behind British rider Scott Redding and Turkish rider Toprak Razgatlioglu. Elsewhere in America, there was lots going on, with both NASCAR and Indycar. The Big Machine Music City Grand Prix was the race for Indycar, in Nashville, with lots of bumps and crashes, especially on the race restarts. The race ended up taking 2 hours 45 minutes with a win for Swedish driver Marcus Ericsson. The NASCAR was another great race, at Watkins Glen International, New York, with a win for Kyle Larson, his fifth for this season so far, chasing off his teammate Chase Elliott. Coming up next week, we have lots more action in Europe, with the second round in Austria for the Moto GP with the Austrian Grand Prix, World Rally Championship are in Belgium, whilst British Superbikes are at Donington Park four you motorbike fans. In America, Indianapolis gets Indycar road course on Saturday and NASCAR on Sunday, so an exciting weekend there!
In the latest episode of Full Throttle, James Whitham joins Greg Haines to discuss the weekend's action from Donington. Toprak Razgatlıoğlu produced a spectacular showing at the Leicestershire circuit to announce himself as a genuine title challenger to Jonathan Rea in WorldSBK. Elsewhere, Scott Redding struggled. The 28-year-old managed to salvage his weekend with a fourth in Race 2 after a “horrendous-looking crash” in Race 1. James and Greg debate Ducati's struggles around Donington. And a preview to the next round of the BSB at Knockhill. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Another long one, but this is searingly brutal honesty from the reigning British Superbike Champion Scott Redding. He discusses everything from being scared while racing, to the rivals he's rated or not, the frustrations of MotoGP and the possibility of a return, his hopes for World Superbike, and what food he would choose upon leaving a club at 4am. All the important stuff.

Apologies for the late arrival of FEC#97 – delayed by unexpected items in the bagging area – but now it’s here, let’s tuck in! Brought to you as always by the furiously febrile funkateers at bikesocial.co.uk and the bike-insuring bike insurers Bennetts, this week’s regurgitation of previously held opinions includes: MotoGP (remember that?) round-up from Assen and Sachsenring, including neck braces, tankslappers, youngsters v old ’uns, should JL99 and/or VR46 retire, who’ll take ZR5’s place at KTM, and who’ll replace MCN race reporter now he’s taken the gig as PR blerk for Petronas Yamaha? with Rea overturning Dave Bautista’s lead in WSB, does he still think his ZX-10R is “like taking a knife to a gunfight”? MotoE’s first race – pointless comedy, the future, or both? PLUS! Listeners’ emails, including: do leathers and other items of bike kit have a safety lifespan, and what’s best to clean them? living proof back protectors are worth wearing all the time... why are the roads in the Fens so bad? has Scott Redding done enough to justify a ride in WSB next year... but will it actually pay more than he’s already getting in BSB? has BTSport’s coverage of MotoGP been successful? Chinese 125 retros: stylish or not? And why don’t the big manufacturers build such stripped-back bikes? ...and should we make an ethical choice not to buy bikes from China, given their human rights record? ...and introducing our new bike-buying advice section, VFECR800 Corner, including: what’s the best big £3k sporty bike for a big sporty bloke, upgrading from a ZX-6R? what’s the best £4k second bike alongside a Daytona 675 for two-up weekend touring? what’s the best bike to replace a Husqvarna 701 Supermoto and a Triumph Tiger 800? what’s the best bike to deliver top-endy, rev-happy thrashable thrills instead of single-gear flexibility? What’s the best cheap track-day bike to suit a 6-footer for a £2k? Thanks for listening! email your thoughts, questions and comments to anything@frontendchatter.com visit www.bikesocial.co.uk for your biking fix get your insurance from Bennetts AND! book yourself on the FECtacular/FECstival on 13th August at Cadwell Park – places still available! ...and follow @SimonHbikes and @Mufga on the Twitters, Instas etc

One of the most historic World Superbike weekends ever, with 3 world champions crowned in dramatic fashion in Magny-Cours, and Dre and Louis are here to break it all down! In World Superbikes, Jonny Rea took his 7th and 8th consecutive wins to top off his fourth straight world title, with an incredible celebration after Race 1! Markus Reiterberger won the Superstock 1000 crown too in its final race! We also review British Superbikes in Assen for the penultimate round of the Showdown, as Leon Haslam took yet another double victory to put one hand on the title, as Jake Dixon suffered an electrical problem in Race 2. Here is a recap of Brad B's experience at the 2013 Wrigley show, while we are AT THE WRIGLEY HOME SHOWS! Big thank you to Scott Redding for this week's Pearl Jam Story Time!
Last weekend, we were surprised when Jorge Lorenzo rode like someone else. This weekend in Austria, he proved the New Jorge is here to stay - and he can win. Marc Marquez showed us again that he can tranform from WinOrBin to WinOrPodium. Dovi put up a fight, but one bigger mistake took him out of the running and now Ev is worried about him. Yamaha is still down in the dumps. And Scott Redding blew up in all the right ways.BrotoGP was also at Sonoma Raceway this past weekend for MotoAmerica. We interviewed some racers like Kyle Wyman, Josh Herrin, and Josh Hayes, went pro with some questions in the press conference, and had an amazing race weekend. There's plenty to talk about with MotoAmerica and the future of American Road Racing - maybe Scott Redding will be part of it.We cover Moto2 real quick, with a few highlights. Then we finish this one off with some listener questions from Instagram.
Wait until you see our true power!!! BrotoGP is evolving, bringing you more of everything that you want, while still keeping everything you love. This our first LIVE episode, streamed to YouTube and uploaded as a podcast after. We had some teething problems*. But I will fix that shit, so stick with us.We kick this one off with an update on Project Catfish. Scott Redding is going strong in his relationship - Kev is worried about Veronica. Then we jump to a racer that hasn't had much love from us or anyone in the off-season, Valentino Rossi. We talk about whether or not he can win, and almost more importantly, whether or not Yamaha can build him (and Mav) a bike to win. Ducati, Marquez, and a whole host of other riders get brought up. Then we finish up with listener topics, chat comments, and eventually bring it all back to Rossi and GP as a whole.* Seriously, sorry about the audio. That won't happen again.
Paddock Pass Podcast - Motorcycle Racing - MotoGP - World Superbike
David and Neil debrief on the German GP at Sachsenring, and then talk about the first MotoGP test at the Red Bull Ring in Austria. Topics include the performances of Cal Crutchlow and Scott Redding, the speed of the Ducati bikes in Austria, and what's going on in the Moto2 & Moto3 paddocks.
1000-1. Those were the odds on Jack Miller last Thursday to win the Assen Grand Prix. But via some sort of miracle, in one of the most ridiculous MotoGP weekends ever, he took a restarted victory ahead of Marc Marquez and Scott Redding, MotoGP's first Indpendent victory since Toni Elias at Estoril 2006. We review all of the madness at a very wet and dry Assen this past weekend, including Rossi's fall, Lorenzo's case of the "yips", and the first weekend with three new winners since 2013 as Takagami Nakagami and Francisco Bagnaia also took wins in their respective classes, in ANOTHER Moto3 highlight reel finish! We also took Road America for IndyCar, in their most attended race ever, as Will Power reminded us he's still Will Power with a dominant victory ahead of a rampant Tony Kaanan, with Graham Rahal finishing 3rd. We also took over the Push-To-Pass and the fact it may be a little too overpowered in the context of the finish, and Conor Daly's rotten luck returning with a suspension failure. We also take some of your listener questions, talk more about Top Gear and Matt LeBlanc's threat to quit over Chris Evans, and talk more about Bernie Ecclestone wanting to change the revenue scale for Formula 1... About time. Oh, and Johnson's back. That's a thing. Enjoy the episode, and stay tuned, with a little luck, we got a BIG week coming for the Podcast to start July. Stay tuned...
Gavin Emmett, Julian Ryder and Keith Huewen are in Texas ahead of the third round of the championship. Will Marc Marquez make it ten in a row in America? Will Jorge Lorenzo join Ducati? Can Cal Crutchlow, Dani Pedrosa and Scott Redding kick-start their seasons? And who are the boys predicting to win on Sunday? See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
The winter testing ban is upon us, but we still need to cover the last bit of riding this year. Casey Stoner made it back to Ducati and Kev gives them a surprising amount of love. Both the GP and WSBK paddocks tested at Jerez... can we compare? All of the Ducs are doing quite well with the new electronics package and new Michelin tires and we even chat about Scott Redding. And of course, we had to talk about Rossi and Marquez a little bit.
Bruce Wilson and John Milbank talk to Scott Redding at the Bennetts stand during the NEC Motorcycle Live Show. From his personal account of how he got started, to getting his head down… it's fifteen minutes you can't miss! The interview starts very quickly, but we had to cut out the drunken tales of debauchery between Bruce and Scott during their early years of racing...
