As The Jar team drove towards Jackson, Mississippi to meet their next guest, Pertis Williams, they received a text message from him informing them of a new location near his home called The Grind. Pertis's friend, Terence, had transformed an old Sonic burger drive-up into a community center where people could come together and talk about their issues, enjoy art, relax, and even record podcasts. But what caught their attention even more than this was the delicious aroma of barbecue wafting from the parking lot.Pertis, being a true Mississippi native, had woken up extremely early that morning to smoke some ribs and chicken corn. He welcomed The Jar team with open arms and offered them some of his mouthwatering barbecue. Even though it was only 10 AM, they couldn't resist the tempting aroma of the meat and decided to snack on some before sitting down for The Jar interview.Pertis talked about his childhood growing up in Brookhaven, Mississippi, surrounded by nature and spending his days playing in the woods, collecting things, and running around from sunrise to sunset. He had a natural curiosity, and he often referred to himself as a borrower, which he explained to The Jar team with a chuckle.Family played a crucial role in Pertis's life. His father owned the funeral home in town and had recently been elected into politics, becoming the first black man to hold some of these positions. However, when Pertis was quite young, his father was killed in their home during a dispute while playing cards. This tragedy left a profound impact on Pertis and his family, but he was lucky to have a fantastic stepfather and a beautiful mother who was always there for him.Recently, Pertis had gone through a difficult divorce, and he had moved back in with his mother. This experience allowed him to get closer to her, and they had formed a stronger bond than ever before. Pertis had also started a new project called Project Humanity, where he was trying to bring people together and unite opposites. He was the host of the "Audit" podcast, ran the "Uniting America" Facebook page, and firmly believed that we all had a responsibility to help others. The Jar team was grateful to Pertis and his friend Terence for the fantastic hospitality and mouthwatering barbecue. They hope to see them again soon and discover more of Pertis's inspiring story. For more of The Jar, visit:Website: https://www.thejar.live/Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCaTqB1dhDvl0Oh505ysdxTgFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/podcast.thejarInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/thejar_podcast/Disclaimer: The views stated in this episode are our guest's opinions and do not represent the views, beliefs or opinions of The Jar Podcast. Gerd Leonhard is a keynote speaker, futurist & humanist, film maker, musician, and renowned author. He is the CEO of The Futures Agency. As one of the leading futurists worldwide, Gerd has presented at over 1500 leading conferences and events over the past 20 years in the field of digital ethics (the ethics of technology). He has an affluent experience of working extensively with the likes of Microsoft, NBC, Visa, Google, the European Commission, L'Oréal, Audi and IBM, just to name a few.Gerd Leonhard Interview Questions1. Please start by telling us a little bit about your background2. Could you share with us about your earlier career path and your motivations or inspiration? 3. I must say your film “The Good Future” is really inspiring and it makes us think a lot about the future. The natural scenes that you captured look amazing. Could you share with us your motivation behind this project?4. When we talk about the future we not only mean our own future but also for our children as well. That's when it comes to climate change, global warming, the transition to clean energy, sustainability development in general. In your opinion, what are the easiest things that we can do to contribute to a sustainable future?5. The Good Future Project is all about creating and spreading a new, positive narrative about the future and you said that we are seriously short of the will, the purpose, and the wisdom. So what is the message that you want to deliver to international companies and audiences in the world to create a correct mindset for all?6. How many members are there in the community of TGFP at the moment? What is your plan to develop this community in the future to help spread the message of a good future for all?7. What are your opinions on the connection between Technology and Humanity, i.e. digital ethics, technology regulation, the future of AI/AGI, human genome editing, longevity, transhumanism, the future of work and jobs, etc8. We all know that with the development of technology, especially AI (like the invention of Sophia the Robot), many people think that this is a threat to humanity in some ways, but everything has its pros and cons. Could you share with us your thoughts on this?9. The invention of robots and intelligent softwares somehow seem to be a threat for the future of work, I mean it can take the jobs of many people and even with higher efficiency. What is your advice for the next generations to develop themselves and adapt with the future of technology in a balanced way?  10. How much control should humans have over digital society? Do you think that we will be way too much into the online world that we may forget about the reality sometimes?11. How do you see the future of technology, especially web3 and virtual reality in the next 5-10 years?About Dinis Guarda profile and Channelshttps://www.openbusinesscouncil.orghttps://www.intelligenthq.comhttps://www.hedgethink.com/https://www.citiesabc.com/More interviews and research videos on Dinis Guarda YouTube

How do you handle difficulties in life? Some dig deep while others look outside. Host, Mike Domitrz, welcomes CAST members Vicki Abadesco, Mark Black and Darren Tipton to discuss difficulties.  Today’s topic was inspired by a quote from Stephen Cope’s book, The Great Work of Your Life. “When difficulties arise, give yourself to them. See them as dharma. Go into the heart of the difficulty. Experience it. Investigate it. Take yourself into the center of the conflict. Learn to tolerate its discomfort without acting or reacting. And what do you find at the heart of fear, dread, loathing, anger, and hatred? You find a surprise. You find a gift.” After listening to the conversation, share examples of your difficulties on the Everyday Mindfulness Show Facebook page.
