Quin Amorim of Prolific Zone joins this episode of E-Commerce with Coffee?! for a superb interview. Quin actually hosts his own two podcasts, QA Selling Online and Fail Fast Podcast. That alone gives you a view of what Quin is all about: Selling online And building brands with lessons learned Quin joined E-Commerce with Coffee?! in this episode to talk to Nate Svoboda about start-ups launching in digital commerce. Covering everything from the history of e-commerce to social proof and PPC, the conversation is packed with clear answers to real questions. What to listen for: When it comes to e-commerce, Quin's been around the block. The interview opens with him reminiscing when Ebay sellers were paid by check. With up to two weeks to receive the check and then up to four weeks for the buyer to receive a product, in e-commerce almost 25 years later we have same-day delivery and dozens of payment options. It's hard for start-ups and brands migrating to e-commerce to know what channels to focus on first, but Quin likes Amazon. He explains why, then talks through the factors a brand needs to consider to decide which channel is right for them. Older consumers are showing a growing preference for Walmart.com over Amazon, and Quin explains why. This is just one example of the factors brands should be ready to consider in their own launch to e-commerce. The interview then gets into questions about physical versus online retail. “On a shelf, someone will walk by you eventually,” Quin says. Listen to the full interview for all his insights on this “divided retail reality.” Quin also talks about how much capital is needed for a start-up brand or manufacturer today. It even comes down to factors like the physical size of your product or the landscape of your niche's competition, and Quin explains why. When it comes to where to spend that capital, every expert today has an opinion on what brands should focus on first. Should it be content or PPC? Quin says product photos are the number-one thing to focus on first, followed very closely by titles. Listen to the full episode to learn why. “Some brands think that you launch, then you win that first position, and then you're done. But you're never done,” Quin cautions. Changes like new reviews and what the competition is doing will always move the dials of a brand's listings and relevancy. Look at it like cleaning your house: if you focus on deep-cleaning one room a week, your home will always be spotless. In the same way, brands can focus on one thing after another even after they've “arrived” at that first-place position. Listen to the full interview for examples of what brands can focus on. Quin also offers some easy-to-implement advice on approaching influencers. Listen to the episode to hear all about it. Of all the lessons Quin has learned and seen learned, he says it was a game-changer to realize that PPC is “not just to get sales—it's also to get conversions for a certain keyword.” The vast majority of brands and PPC providers will immediately turn the gas off on keywords that don't convert to final sales, but Quin says that's like shooting yourself in the foot. Clicks—with or without sales—gain you relevancy. They also stop competitors from getting that keyword, because “someone else will show up if you don't.”

How To Track Facebook Ad Performance To Amazon Listings

QA Selling Online

Play Episode Listen Later Apr 5, 2019 11:26

Today I received a question from Luis asking about tracking ROI from Facebook Ads directed to Amazon There are 2 ways to track your Facebook Ads conversion for Amazon FBA listings. The first one is to create an Amazon affiliate account and start selling your own items from the affiliate accounts.By doing this you will get affiliate tracking and analytics from Amazon that tells you how many sales came from each link. The second way to do is is to track the product on a daily basis using the Amazon reports, measure the conversion rate and the numbe of daily views to your listing, and as soon as you turn on your Facebook Ad campaign you will see what the increase in traffic and the conversion rate. By doing this you will see that for example if you were getting 2000 visitor per day to your listing at 48% conversion rate, and now you get 2500 people per day at 48% conversion rate, you know how many extra sales you generated from the Facebok Ad. This is not 100% accurate but it will give you a pretty close estimate of the ROI generated by your Facebook marketing campaign The second question was: How can you track sales on Amazon generated by organic search terms? Well, I only know of one way of doing this, and it involves using an Amazon Tool by Helium 10, called Cerebro Cerebro will do the equivalent to a reverse ASIN lookup, but it will also show you what keywords you, or your competitor are paying for, and what keywords are generating organic sales. And on top of that, it will also show you where you rank for each one of those keywords, the search volume of each search term, How many products are competing for the same search terms and how many giveaways you would need in order to rank on the first page of Amazon for each keyword Cerebro is one of the many tools available at Helium 10, and I arranged a discount for you: If you want a one time 50% discount use code: QAMORIM50 But if you want 10% discount per month for life use QAMORIM10 That is all for today, so remember: "Start Grateful, Stay Positive and Always Profit"Quin Amorim

Most people when they join an MLM (Multi Level Marketing) are thought all the wrong ways to approach leads.Their uplines "most" of the times have zero experience, so they give them the same copy and paste message that they have been using unsuccessfully for a long time. The reality is that you need to build some time of relationship before going in with the "opportunity" The good old techniques: "Would you like to make more money?""Do you leave income opportunities open""If you breathe, this is meant for you..." This is pure and simple terrible... What's up, everyone? Quin here. And I want to give you some quick tips today about what not to do when communicating with your customers, with your leads. Especially when you're trying to network with somebody. Now a lot of these messages come from the very well-known MLM which is multi-level marketing. A lot of people out there do not like multi-level marketing, a lot of people love multi-level marketing. I guess that's just different point of views depending on what side of the fence you're on. Now, one thing in common when it comes to multi-level marketing is the fact that networking, your network is your net worth. So multi-level marketers need to constantly create, generate lots of connections and ie. networking. To do so, some have been trained incorrectly by their uplines and their uplines tell them what to do incorrectly. And of course, this is not a generalization because there's a lot of people out there doing it right, building relationships the right way. But what we all see is a bunch of spam and then all pay because of one. And that's the generalization that happens in life. Humans do that often, right? So we all get a ton of messages. I get like an unlimited amount of messages come in constantly that are just spammy. And what I do normally is as soon as I see sometimes the subject says: “Hello, Quin_Amorim,” okay so I know that was a bot that captured either my Twitter or my Instagram. So they go through my Instagram, my Twitter. The scraping bots capture my email, associate the account name with my name and then they message, “Hello, Quin_Amorim” altogether. So automatically, those go directly to the junk folder. Others, I can read you a few. Of course, I'm not gonna name any names. I'm not gonna name companies or anything like that. And here's for example. This one was from LinkedIn: “Hi, Quin. I wanted to know if you're actively seeking venture funding. If so, let me know if you'd like details about applying to present as one of the top innovators at the New England venture summit,” blah, blah, blah. And then signed. And of course, there's a link in there. Now the thing is, this is the very first contact I had with this person. I've never met this person. It is actually an account that doesn't even have a picture. And this is how they start, right? They start the conversation directly with a pitch if I'm looking for venture funding. So this one came through and I didn't reply. Two days later, I get a message that just says, “Hi, Quin. I wanted to know if you're actively seeking venture funding. We're bringing together a large group of investors to connect emerging companies,” blah blah blah. So basically, the same pitch a couple of lines and the links at the bottom are different now. This actually has a URL, that it's going to take me to this summit. In this case, I did reply. So now there are 2 messages that came in from the same person. I replied and I said, “Thank you so much for contacting me. I'll save this link and I'll keep my eyes open.” That's it. So I get a reply to that. “My pleasure. What round of funding are you seeking and how much? Let me know if you'd be interested in joining us and I'll send you more details.” So again I didn't reply and I get this. “Hey Quin, I wanted to know if you're actively seeking venture funding. We're bringing together a large group of investors...” blah blah blah.

Amazon live available for Amazon FBA sellers. Amazon.com/live https://www.amazon.com/live/howto Amazon Livestream available for FBA sellers: Today, I wanna talk about a new and exciting feature for Amazon Sellers and it is Live Video. Yes, you heard it correctly. Amazon Live Video. Now this is for Amazon Sellers. This is not regular video. This is for brand awareness, for brand building. So you can do this and you can have your product, your brand ambassador, your brand go live on Amazon. So to do this, check it out people that already have it there, you go to Amazon.com/live and you can check a bunch of your videos from other brands that already have it there. If you like this idea and you wanna go live with your brand and show your products, you can do so by downloading the app. It's the Amazon Live app. But there's another way you can check out first on your computer or wherever it is, on your phone wherever. Go to Amazon.com/live/howto. And this is “howto” altogether with no spaces, nothing. So check that out. It is going to recommend that you download the app. This app is needed in order to stream live to Amazon. And the app is the Amazon Live Creator. And it's only available for now on iOS devices. So it's available for iPhones. So no Android version ready yet, but I'm sure they're working on that. So if you have an iPhone, if you have an iPad this will work for you. And even iPod touch.   That is the only way you can access it right now. And again, the app is called Amazon Live Creator. What happens after you download this app? When you start broadcasting your brand you get discovered. You get a bigger exposure in Amazon. Amazon Live App You can chat directly with your customers, so people that are watching your stream can communicate with you just as if you were doing to Facebook Live, as if you were streaming on Twitter or on YouTube, any other platform. Even LinkedIn that's getting that worked on right now. So like any other big platform, Amazon has gone into live video streaming so you can stream your live videos. And then they have an extra bonus is after you streamed your video and you're done streaming, you have the option to boost that video just like you would boost a Facebook post. Exactly like that. There's an option to click “boost”. You tell Amazon how much you want to spend boosting that video. Now everybody all over Amazon.com will start seeing your video, boost your sales and you are off to the races. So do yourself a favor and go check it out. It's Amazon.com/live. And if you want to check out how to get started, you can go to Amazon.com/live/howto. That's it for today. Thank you for listening. This is Quin Amorim checking out. Remember: Start grateful, stay positive and always profit.

Another great interview where Quin Amorim and Jenny Hale talk about Social Media Jenny Hale is a social media mentor for the US military.   Jenny started her career working with the military community and over time she realized she wanted to help more. Jenny lived in the barracks, she rappelled down towers, and even took pictures inside the gas chamber! So much that after college and being a photojournalist, Jenny attempted to enlist, more than once! But unfortunately, due to some childhood medical issues, that would prevent her physically to do what she needed and wanted to do, Jenny was not accepted. But, since Jenny Hale fell in love with the military and found her purpose, she was not going to give up that easy. She couldn't walk away, she had a purpose, so she had to work with the military and makes sure its more than a 24-hour job. Now she pivoted and found a way to do what she wants, around who she wants. This is such a great interview with Jenny Hale, that I recommend listening, rather than just reading the show notes. Jenny Works with various military spouse/veteran entrepreneurs to reach social media and marketing goals. Jenny Hale offers coaching, social media management, content creation, and public relations services to the military community entrepreneur and specializes in serving businesses with military-focused products/services. Studying online algorithms, like Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, Jenny knows what kind of behavior these algorithms are favoring and exactly how to engage with them. Several Amazon Sellers When a product is sold by numerous Amazon sellers, how do I know which is the best one to buy from? Quin Amorim's answer: You don’t need to choose! If there are several sellers on the listing, Amazon will award the “buy Box” to the cheapest and the one in stock at their FBA warehouse. This means you don’t have to pick, just click the buy now button (or add to cart) and Amazon will ship you the product. The product being sold is the exact same, no matter who the seller is, so, in reality, the best is always the cheapest. Reading the reviews will be completely useless (in this case) because the reviews are for the product and not for the seller. Just click “Add to cart” and let Amazon choose the cheapest for you. Don’t worry, you are 100% safe with Amazon, and if anything is wrong with your order they will refund you 100% of the value every time.

Quin Amorim The Story of 20 Years in E-commerce Here is my story. My name is Quin Amorim, I am an internet entrepreneur. I sell on Amazon, I create private label products, I own a Amazon Management Agency, and I host 2 podcasts. Eeverything may sound good, and probably sounds like life is always easy. But in reality, things have been hard, and they still get hard sometimes. Some of you already heard my story, I started selling products online in 1997 using dropshipping, this is at least 10 years before most people even knew the word dropshipping. I was selling on ebay.com and kept selling on eBay, until 2007 and that's when I bought my first website and because it broke so often, I ended up learning how to build websites and fix PHP and HTML. From then on I would build a website or a blog for anything I could think of. From 2007 to 2010 I built websites about everything so I could make money with advertising space and Google Adsense. I built Website about my city, a blog about wine, a fitness blog, a juicing website, membership site, a couple of youtube clones, several insurance blogs, forex blogs, website to sell websites, you name it. I got my own servers for hosting since I ended up buying 120 domains and having 85 websites online. Then in 2010, I tried dropshipping again, using my own website, this time with expensive items and 1 week after launching my dropshipping site I had made $4000, but all of this involved a 100% manual process. I would get the product pictures from the manufacturer, post on my website, create my description and price, and when someone would buy one, I would message the manufacturer for each order and give them my customer's address and their share of the sale. This was not scalable at all, and at the same time I never loved the process, so I hired my first VA to run this for me. What I didn't know was that my VA was slowly building the exact same business for himself, and mine ended up falling. Meanwhile, I was all over the place. I had a 6 figure job in the Oil industry where I spent 12 hours a day, in a remote location where I did not have any entrepreneurs to surround myself with, and I ended up spending my free time playing video games and slowly let everything go downhill! To be honest it got to a point where I would rather be inside my computer than in real life, and of course, that affected my real life. I ruined my relationship at the time, had to sell one of my houses because at that time I was paying 1.5 million in mortgages for 3 houses. Because I didn't know there was something wrong with me, I never tried to fix it, I was never diagnosed with depression or any other problem. so, even tho I wasn't aware, everything I had built until then was being destroyed. Now, believe it or not, the thing that ended up saving me, was something that destroyed thousands and thousands of peoples homes, and billions of dollars in damage. My city was involved in the biggest disaster in Canadian History (or at least the most expensive disaster) A huge fire burned through the city, and the entire cite had a mandatory evacuation. If you think this sounds insane, it was! The entire city was jammed solid, gridlock traffic that would not go anywhere, houses burning, forest burning over the highway, people driving in the wrong directions, over sidewalks, over gardens, hours of lineups at gas stations of people trying to escape from the city... and the most shocking thing for me was turning on the radio to listen to what was going on, and hearing " This is an unmanned radio station, the entire city is in mandatory evacuation, leave the city now" and it would repeat. It was in real life, something that I had seen in movies. So, after escaping the fire, the government didn't allow us to go back home for 45 days. yes for 45 days nobody could enter that city unless they were part of the emergency crews. so, for 45 days I and my family ended up traveling around Canada.

What is more important, great images or the best title and keywords | E.p. #180

What is more important, great images or the best title and keywords? whats up everyone, this is the QA selling online podcast, and I am Quin Amorim. Today I want to address a question of Image versus keywords. What is more important, great images or the best title and keywords? Before I get into the nitty-gritty and explain what is better and why I want to let you know that there is nothing or nobody stopping you from having both! Getting the best keywords and the best pictures should be your default setting anyway! But let's get into picture vs Tittle This may sound weird but if we consider the order of things, the title/ keywords will come first... But, the only reason is that without it, nobody will find you. And if nobody will find your product, you can have the best images in the world, and nobody will buy it! Now, after people find you, that title, bullet points, and description go down to a 3rd or 4th position. Yes, at this stage the number 1 most important thing is what will stand out visually! The thumbnail, the average review rating, and price. Now, you may be thinking, " but my thumbnail is my image" yes and no. Your thumbnail is a smaller version of your image, but on the main search page, they will not show up the same as after the visitor opens the listing. This is why I recommend having the product take more than 95% of the main image size because if there is barely any white space around your product, your thumbnail will jump, in size, when compared to competitors, and if they can see it better, it's more likely to be opened. Now that the customer clicks on your listing and suddenly the most important thing is the remaining 6 images. Amazon allows you to upload 9 but only show 7. What the user does now, is exactly what you would do when shopping for a product, now you look at the pictures with the zoom, then you will read a couple bullet points and look to see if there are any terrible reviews (yes most people don't even care about the good ones)

Amazon UK Congratulations on making your own product, I always wanted to be able to make something myself. I'm guessing you are also in the Amazon Handmade program, but if you are not I highly recommend applying for it. If you are living in the US and want to sell in the UK there are a few things that you need to do and need to know. Although I'm not an expert when it comes to the UK or even FBM, since the only FBM I ever did was in Canada. The approval from Amazon, after you are able to fill the blanks on the application page is almost immediate, if I remember correctly. And the approval unlocks all Europe, just like your US account unlocked Canada and Mexico too. But here are some things: You need to pay VAT Value added tax. I'm no expert when it comes to getting it because I'm a European citizen. I have dual, Canadian and Portuguese, and since I started a business in Europe in 1993 I already had Portuguese VAT which is 23% VS 20% in UK. But I know that if you are making more than 82k pounds in the UK you need to register your business for VAT # You will need a business, that you can start easily and with only 15 pounds. It's a limited company, they don't have LLC. The site is Gov.uk and search for a limited company You will need a UK bank account. This can take a while (Maybe up to a month) And I believe they will ask you for proof of address The easiest way is to hire a company that will do all of this for you. And unfortunately, since I didn't use one, I don't want to recommend any. There are things you need when importing from any country that is not EU, like EORI number. And you can get this on the same site Gov.uk Actually, almost everything you need is there. And...Another important thing is to read all the laws. United Kingdom Amazon UK As for the prime delivery, Amazon UK has it and it's a 1-day delivery or less! But not all Europe has it, Spain, Italy, Germany, UK, yes. But they only have 31 warehouses across |Europe, and these are all in 7 countries. The rest of the countries doesn't have warehouses so they don't expect 2-day delivery.   And you had something else in your question... Oh yeah, the listings! No, the listings are not the same ones from North America to Amazon UK. Although it's hit or miss because sometimes you go to add the product and it shows up already. Then they give you the option to use the existing US listing or type it all up again. I'm not sure how some products don't show up in the catalog since the UPC is universal, but as for the listing, you should probably not use the US listing, because of different search terms are used in European English. Or at least change it up. And since selling in Amazon UK will open you up to France, Italy, Spain Germany, you may even need to translate some of those if you want to sell there. For example, in Japan, I hired a native Japanese speaker and he told me they have 2 different languages, and on top of that, a lot of buyers still search in English, because they love the American brands, so that is 3 languages you can use to add keywords!   I hope I covered the entirety of your question, and I wish you all the best. Start grateful, stay positive and always be profitable! Quin Amorim

Quin Amorim explains the meaning of Failing Fast How do you fail fast, and what is the meaning of failing fast? In systems design, a fail-fast system is one which immediately reports at its interface any condition that is likely to indicate a failure. Fail-fast systems are usually designed to stop normal operation rather than attempt to continue a possibly flawed process The goal of the fail fast idea is avoiding spending time, money and resources pursuing something that isn't working. People tend to keep investing in things that clearly aren't working because it’s part of human nature to try to avoid failure. If you are an entrepreneur you probably watch the show Dragon's Den or Shark Tank and often see people that have sunk all their life savings into a failed product or company. These people followed an idea that they thought was great, but didn't look for the quick or small failures, that would have helped them realize they needed to pivot and change their product or even the whole strategy behind the business. The Fail Fast Podcast is here to try to create some awareness about Fail-Fast ideas and techniques, and help people embrace the small failures in order to avoid the big ones. Fail Fast, but never fail on purpose. Fail Fast and act on what triggered that small failure. If you have a great failure story or know someone how has the best failure story you hear, make sure to check our website on how to be a guest on the Fail Fast Podcast. We get to sucked into the results shown on social media, by all the "self-made gurus" and we start to compare results. How Quin Amorim Was Dropshipping on eBay in 1997 | E.p. #120

Quin Amorim started selling products online in 1997 DropShipping on eBay. Yes Dropshipping Quin was living in Europe when he first discovered the power of selling online. While working at Daimler Chrysler he walked outside to look at some stores and found wooden hand carved statues that looked like they could sell for more, but people would not find them at that physical location. He then thought he could bring a camera from home the next day and take pictures to try to sell them on eBay even without owning them. The reason for bringing a camera was because back then cell phones didn't have cameras yet, or at least cameras with good quality. He took the camera to work the next day and after taking lots of pictures he went home and uploaded them to the computer and then to eBay, where he created the listings to start "Dropshipping " these items. The term Dropshipping may not have even existed back then, so he just called it "Selling The Picture" because the only thing he had was the picture. After these wooden handmade statues started to sell on eBay, he found a big issue... Each one of the statues was unique, and if someone bought one at the store, he would not have it to dropship. Also, eBay wasn't built for dropshipping at first, so they didn't have software that would automatically calculate shipping fees, and He would have to get the real shipping costs from the post office itself and only in person. eBay dropshipping Quin Amorim   Now, many years later Quin Amorim creates private label products and sells on Amazon with fulfillment by Amazon, Shopify self-fulfilled and on some shelves. He also has a marketing agency, since he created the $57 Facebook advertising campaign that attracted 34 million visitors and generated $118K in sales in less than 5 days.
