After a two-season hiatus, Charged Up has returned! Now co-hosted by Matthew Esteves and Hardev Lad. In this episode, the gents catch up on life, give quick previews of every other division in the league, provide more in-depth opinions and predictions on the Atlantic Division, and get into the roster management of the Lightning. This episode was recorded before Alex Barre-Boulet was placed on waivers Sunday afternoon.
This episode, the first of season four, is a little different than Alex's usual episode format. It comes to you in two parts: The first, recorded August 11th, 20201, features a chat with Matthew Esteves of Raw Charge. Matt and Alex discuss the Tampa Bay Lightning's recent string of success and how Syracuse has contributed to that success. They discuss the importance of the coherence between Tampa and Syracuse and how important the last decade has been for development within the organization. They examine the achievements of homegrown organizational players like Ross Colton, Mathieu Joseph, and Andrei Vasilevskiy. They commiserate about the loss of Yanni Gourde to Seattle and reminisce a little about Gourde's path in the Lightning organization. Matt also makes some predictions about the future of the Lightning and which Crunch players are poised to be the next homegrown success story (Hint: It involves a couple of forwards recently labeled the Talented Trio). The second part of the podcast is a recording of the most recent episode of Locked On Lightning with host Adam Denker. Adam had Alex on his podcast on Friday, August 6th and was nice enough to provide Syracuse Speaks with a copy of their discussion. Adam and Alex discuss Syracuse and Tampa, including a deeper look at Joseph and his specific path in the organization. They do the same with Colton, chewing over how the forward elevated his game throughout his developmental path. They breakdown the importance of strong AHL depth and how essential it is for long NHL playoff runs to have a well-stocked cupboard of players ready to jump in and contribute. Of note is that Adam also covers the Orlando Solar Bears at Field Pass Hockey, so make sure to give him a follow! Thanks for listening!

Hardev Lad from sister SBN blog Raw Charge joins Crown Conversations to talk about the Tampa Bay Lightning and their quest to lift Lord Stanley’s shiny silver chalice. Steven Stamkos remains an unknown factor, but if he were to suit up, where could he fit into the lineup? How would Jon Cooper best utilize the star forward’s skills? We also talk about the magical postseason that Brayden Point is having as well as Tampa’s insane depth (seriously, Tyler Johnson is on the THIRD LINE, Cedric Paquette is on the FOURTH line). It hasn’t been an easy Cup run for the Lightning so far, but after being swept out of the playoffs last year, the Bolts are proving that they’ve learned a lot and will not be an easy out for any team. Heading into tonight's game, the Lightning have lost eight of their last ten. The Flyers have won nine of their last ten. There's little doubt about which of these team is best on paper, but after losing the first two meetings this season against a Lightning team that was rolling, it'll be interesting to see if the Flyers can close out the season series with a win against a team that is slumping. Geo Fitz of Raw Charge joined us to drill down into how the Flyers can win this game and start that streak all over again. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
The Flyers are riding high on a well-earned, bounce-back win over the Florida Panthers as they head into this game with the Tampa Bay Lightning, but this one... this one won't be easy. With key players (maybe) coming back from injury, a red-hot power play, a goalie standing on his head, and some of the most talented offensive players in the league, this game is going to be a real test for the Flyers. Alan Wells of Raw Charge gives us an idea of what to expect when the second best team in the Eastern Conference hits this ice. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

It's been several weeks since the Tampa Bay Lightning have lost a hockey game. Their Vezina-winning goalie is getting hot, the offense is, well... the Tampa Bay Lightning offense, and even a few injuries can't seem to slow them down. With the Flyers finally coming back to the Wells Fargo Center where they play their best hockey, it'll be interesting to see if they are able to slow down Tampa's march to the top of the East.
