This week, the Bandwagon is stripped down again as the dynamic duo of Dave and Tunney guide you through the week around the Nerdosphere. Netflix had its annual fan event and mega-preview party, Tudum. The event has become notorious for dumping a slew of trailers for almost all of Netflix's upcoming projects for the next 9-12 months. This year was no exception, and we received trailers for eagerly anticipated projects like Frankenstein, Squid Game Season 3, Happy Gilmore 2, and the long-awaited announcement about Stranger Things Season 5, along with the release dates for the separate volumes of the final season. Amazon Prime, not wanting to be left out, dropped a trailer for Season 2 of Gen V. The guys then examine the significant drop in viewers for the season finale of The Last of Us and question whether the series could be at risk of cancellation. This fate befell another popular franchise as The Wheel of Time was canceled by Prime. Are there hidden similarities between the two shows that should concern fans of HBO Max's most popular series of all time? As if HBO Max didn't have enough problems, we've been informed that the three lead roles for the Harry Potter reboot have been cast. Do these kids stand a chance, or will they be crushed by the inevitable comparison to the original three actors from the movie franchise? In much better news, though, DC and Marvel Comics are on the verge of releasing the first crossover event in over 20 years. With the two comics' super-powers working together, Dave and Tunney ponder what other crossovers they might want to see. @AttitudeAgg@WrestlngRealist@itsReyCash@PCTunney@itsmedpp@ViolentAesop@TheMindlessPod@therealcplatt@ChairshotMedia@BandwagonNerdsPROWRESTLINGTEES.COM/TheChairshot - Makes a GREAT GIFT!!!About Bandwagon NerdsJoin Patrick O'Dowd, David Ungar, PC Tunney, Rey Cash, and DPP as they keep everyone up on all things nerd and maybe add some new nerds along the way. The entertainment landscape shifts dramatically in this packed news episode covering some surprising wins, disappointing losses, and unexpected announcements across film, television, and gaming.Disney's live-action Lilo & Stitch continues its box office dominance, approaching the billion-dollar threshold globally while Sony's Karate Kid: Legends stumbles despite reuniting Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan. The stark contrast between these nostalgic properties raises fascinating questions about what resonates with modern audiences and why certain franchises maintain cultural relevance while others fade. Meanwhile, Ariana Grande expands her cinematic presence by joining the upcoming Meet the Parents sequel alongside returning stars Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller. On the gaming front, CD Projekt Red surprises us with news that Cyberpunk 2 has moved into pre-production with nearly 100 developers already working on the sequel—much earlier than I expected considering the studio's primary focus on The Witcher 4. This announcement comes alongside the disappointing revelation that EA has canceled its promising Black Panther game, which would have featured multiple playable characters including T'Challa, Killmonger, and Shuri in an adventure involving Skrull infiltration and a nemesis-style relationship system. Gaming fans can look forward to IO Interactive's upcoming 007 First Light, which promises an original James Bond adventure separate from previous films.Television updates spotlight Netflix's TUDUM event, which revealed Stranger Things' three-part final season release schedule, a first look at Wednesday Season 2 featuring Lady Gaga, and a tantalizing teaser for Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein adaptation starring Oscar Isaac, Mia Goth and Jacob Elordi. HBO's ambitious Harry Potter series has found its leading trio and assembled an impressive supporting cast including John Lithgow as Dumbledore and Nick Frost as Hagrid, signaling the network's commitment to bringing a fresh take on the beloved series to a new generation. What do these developments tell us about where entertainment is heading? The Bandwagon is stripped down this week as Dave and PC Tunney helm the ship for a big week in the Nerdosphere. Naturally, we are covering Thunderbolts as Dave, Tunney (and the rest of the Bandwagon, for that matter) all saw the latest entry into the MCU. What was the consensus, and did the longest post-credit scene in MCU history push the Universe in the right direction? In other MCU News, we discovered why Hawkeye had no second season. From there, the guys head into the Trailer Park to look at the latest, including a sizzle reel for Netflix's TUDUM event, Dwayne "The Rock " Johnson's latest movie, The Smashing Machine, and a very creepy look at Weapons. GTA 6 got delayed, again....but could that be a blessing in disguise? But this Episode was recorded on Star Wars Day, and to commemorate the event, Dave tries his best to convince Tunney to watch Andor, while Tunney tells Dave what he likes most about one of the most successful franchises of all time. All that, plus Dave tells you why The Last of Us is the best show anywhere on TV. The search for a missing person in 2010 led to the discovery of a woman's body on a secluded stretch of Gilgo Beach. It prompted police to unearth the remains of several more women. Authorities reached a startling conclusion: a serial killer had been preying on sex workers in Long Island for years. For a time, it seemed the case would remain cold, but new investigators utilized overlooked clues and cutting-edge technology to identify the man they believe is responsible for the murders. In the Netflix documentary series Gone Girls: The Long Island Serial Killer, director Liz Garbus picks up the story where her motion picture Lost Girls left off. The series chronicles how the investigation into the Gilgo Beach Four expanded into a manhunt for the murderer of at least ten people. It delves into the missed opportunities and public corruption that hindered the search, while also offering a fascinating profile of Rex Heuermann, the man alleged to have used this part of New York as his hunting ground for decades. Was his charismatic hold that strong? Or did Manson's powers of persuasion get a boost from the government? In CHAOS: The Manson Murders, Oscar-winning filmmaker Errol Morris explores the connections between the infamous cult leader and the CIA's MK-Ultra mind control experiments.
