Axel Karakasis is the most recognisable Greek name in the Techno scene. His career is marked by a number of classic themes and a series of appearances that have established him as an international DJ.   The rise to his present status did not happen overnight, but goes back to the 80s and the 90s, when Techno made its first appearance. Fascinated by this new wave, Axel's courtship with electronic music saw a very different light…   By the late 90s, he was already known through various DJ residencies in Athens, as well as through his regular events with his team “Bubbles” –to be remembered to this date by many! This was when the techno wiz-kid earned his place among the top Greek DJs and appeared in numerous events in the biggest clubs of the Greek capital! He soon became the most wanted Greek Techno DJ, playing regularly in the biggest venues in Athens, Thessaloniki, Mykonos, Crete and all over his native Greece.         Being a restless spirit led Axel to new avenues in music production. He always wanted to play unique music in his sets. That's what drove him to get into the studio and begin his own productions. In 2000, he had his first release on Pornographic Recordings and this was only the beginning, as a string of classic releases followed in the likes of Intec Records, MB Elektronics, Primate, etc. to establish himself in a genre he referred to as “Groovy Techno”! With his very own mark on discography, Axel's international career took off. Confirming his status as the most sought after Greek Techno DJ of his time, Axel headlines events in some of the best clubs in the world, such as the Rex Club (Paris), Womb (Tokyo), Turnmills (London), tours regularly countries like Belgium, Colombia, France, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland, Korea, Croatia, Slovenia, Ukraine, Holland and Brazil, to name a few, and has appeared in top festivals like Awakenings (Netherlands) Rabac Festival (Croatia), Apokalypsa (Czech Republic), etc.: he keeps exciting crowds all over the world!   At present, Axel releases his music in top record labels, like Kombination Research, Planet Rhythm, Tronic and others, whereas his tracks have featured in well known compilations and mix CDs, such as Extreme Euphoria (Ministry of Sound), Cream Ibiza, I Love Techno, and many many more. However, his work wouldn't be complete without his own imprint! In his first venture, he was the co-founder of Omega Audio Recordings, which received rave reviews and support by top DJs world-wide, as well as being a platform for new talents to see the spotlight. In September 2007, Axel decided to channel all his energy into his very own brainchild, Remain Records, which is gradually transforming into a brand encompassing both vinyl (Remain Records) and digital (Remain Records and Remain Limited) releases by Axel, The Advent & Industrialyzer, Marco Bailey, Cristian Varela, Alexander Kowalski, A.Paul as well as newer talent.   Axel's strong reputation is based on his consistency towards the genre that established him. Always faithful to techno, Axel Karakasis delivers all-fresh, brand-new sounds that evolve. Having earned strong support by clubbers and his peers worldwide, Axel keeps challenging the clubland with his releases and his full of energy DJ sets. This one is really special!!! It's an honour to have him on board. Please Welcome, Mousse T., who is one of Germany's most prominent musical exports. His award-winning discography demonstrates his innate musicality that shines through on every release, whether it be his chart-topping productions, sublime remixes or self-written songs. Mousse T.'s first step in the music industry was playing keyboards for the relatively under-the-radar band Fun Key B, where he began his experimentation with synth- pop, and funk infused sounds. Hungry for more, Mousse T. was also already forging his solo career, opening his own recording studio and DJing on Hannover's growing club scene. Along with his own productions, Mousse T.'s writing and producing credits read like a who's who of the music industry, having worked with artists such as Roy Ayers, Byron Stingily, Andreya Triana to name a few. With all his hard work solidifying the foundations for his career, he took the plunge in 1993 and launched Peppermint Jam records, a pioneering label still renowned for its unique uplifting house music and melodic acid jazz. By the late 90's Mousse T. was a household name, dominating the charts with releases such as ‘Horny' and Tom Jones' ‘Sex Bomb'. This success was followed by an Ivor-Novello Award, Grammy Award nomination and three studio albums, most recently releasing Where Is The Love in 2018, a charismatic and sophisticated reminder of his gifted abilities. His other recent achievements include appearing as a judge on DSDS (Germany's Got Talent) and producing film soundtracks for a number of German titles. With no signs of slowing down, Mousse T. continues to be one of the most prolific producers in the game, putting his signature shizzle touch on tracks like Mike Dunn ́s „If I can't git down“, Horse Meat Disco ́s „Love if you need it“, Flight Facilities ft. Channel Tres „Lights up“, Selace ́s „Hooked on your lovin ́“ and Davie ́sTestify" „ to Spiller ́s „Groovejet“, as well as releasing his own productions constantly, DJing across the globe with residencies at parties like Glitterbox and continuing to uphold the legacy of his own label, Peppermint Jam. Mousse T. is currently residing on the Glitterbox roster with Colluded Management. His recent gigs include playing at Hi Ibiza, Viper Room Los Angeles, Cavo Paradiso Mykonos, Amnesia Ibiza, Pacha Ibiza, Creamfields Festival, Cocoon Club Frankfurt, Loveparade, Rex Club Paris and Montreux Jazz Festival, with his live band. Whether it's behind the decks or on the keys, with Mousse T. in control the night is guaranteed to be special. We know you will enjoy it!!! This is magnificent! John Tejada on the Virtual Sessions presented by The DJ Sessions 6/28/22 About John Tejada - Normally associated with his peers in techno from Detroit, Europe and elsewhere, John Tejada has embraced electronic music as a personal frontier, expanding on his resume as a techno recording artist as producer, remixer, DJ, and label owner. Known for crafting a brand of subtle, musical techno, his recorded output ranges across tempo and genre lines, from chilled out affairs with spacious arrangements to pulsating, densely layered, deeply energetic tracks that work magnificently in the hands of DJs as well as on the home stereo. John Tejada was born in Vienna, Austria on April 21, 1974. His parents, both professional classical musicians (his mother an opera singer and father a conductor) began his early piano training at the age of 4. In the summer of 1982, John would move with his mother to her place of birth, Los Angeles. It was that summer at the age of 8 another instrument would catch his eye, the drums. Teaching himself to play along to classic rock music, John quickly learned his way around the drum set (an instrument he still plays to this day in his I'm Not A Gun project).  Everything changed however when he got his first taste of early 80's hip hop music. The impact of those early productions and electronic experimentation was very strong. Soon after, at the age of 12 John was given his first set of turntables and a mixer. He wanted to figure out everything he was hearing DJs do at that time. His first gigs came at the age of 12 for his own school, DJing his school dances. Soon after his fascination with DJing began his fascination with production began. Just as he was completely determined to learn the tricks of local DJs, he now wanted to know how the music was made. His introduction came around the age of 15, when he acquired his first looping delay. Soon after came his first workstation, an Ensoniq EPS sampler. This opened up a whole new world of possibilities. John spent every part of his day honing his craft. In 1991, while still in high school, John was already recording his first productions. He was also involved in college radio, even though he was just a junior in high school. John had a spot on “The Fly ID Show” with DJ Rob One. John produced the show's first record for Rob and also went on to do some hip hop production on Ruthless Records. It was during this time that he met his long time collaborator and best friend Arian Leviste.  The two met at a hip hop recording session in ‘91. John, already tired of the hip hop scene and where it was going, spent hours talking to Arian about acid house, techno, ambient house and everything they seemed to have in common. The two agreed they would meet weekly to compose material. It took some time before they would release any music, but in 1994 they pressed up their own single and that started a chain reaction of releases. John and Arian during this time also were accepted into CalArts' (California Institute for the Arts) electronic music program, but both decided not to attend to hone their craft on their own. Soon after, John enjoyed a series of releases on European labels like A13, Multiplex, and Generations R&S. In the fall of 1996 he started his own label, Palette Recordings as an outlet to release his own productions without having anyone tell him how to do it. The demand for his music continued to grow and labels such as Ferox, Sino, Mosaic, Immigrant, Plug Research, Pokerflat and 7th City all released Tejada 12”s. John began traveling internationally in ‘97 to showcase his DJ skills around the globe, traveling to more than 25 countries and playing various clubs and festivals around the world. Festivals included Movement (formerly The Detroit Electronic Music Festival), Sonar Festival (in Spain and Tokyo), Dance Valley (Netherlands), Sync Festival (Greece), Mutek Mexico, as well as internationally known spaces such as Fabric (London), Yellow (Tokyo), Rex Club (Paris), The Walt Disney Concert Hall (Los Angeles) and many more. In 1999, John met classical jazz guitarist Takeshi Nishimoto, which was the beginning of another musical frontier. The two had a similar meeting as John and Arian had years before and began talking about making music. The project I'm Not A Gun was born and signed soon after to Berlin-based City Center Offices. This project would bring back John's own training as a drummer while also trying his hand at the guitar. The project became a mix of John's own electronic productions along with Takeshi's professional guitar playing and John's drumming. The project has enjoyed great reviews and success the world over and the duo has performed live in LA, Japan and Germany. In the summer of 2004, John would - in one week - create the two songs that would catapult his techno career. The classic “Sweat On The Walls,” and “Mono On Mono” were released almost at the same time on two different labels. “Sweat” was released on Pokerflat and “Mono On Mono” on Palette. Together the two records sold over 23,000 copies on vinyl. This lead to the equally successful follow up singles “Paranoia,” “Mind Bend” (with more recent collaborator and Palette-signing, Justin Maxwell) “Voyager,” and “The End Of It All.” With dozens of singles and remixes to his credit, he has also produced full-length albums for Playhouse, Palette, Plug Research, deFocus, Moods and Grooves, Immigrant and A13. This man needs no further introductions. He is the best known Greek Techno export at this time with a long-standing career that still grows stronger. His success story begins in the late 80s when Techno made its first appearance. From this point onwards, Axel’s courtship with electronic music saw a very different light… By 1996, midst of an era that saw electronic music taking over the Greek dance scene, he was already known through various DJ residencies. In addition, together with the team "bubbles" he organised regular events –to be remembered to this date!- with a huge crowd of supporters! This was only the beginning for a series of very successful events in some of the biggest clubs in the Greek capital, and not only! In the following years, he became the most wanted Greek Techno DJ, having played in the biggest venues in Athens, Thessaloniki, Mykonos, Crete and all over his native Greece. Notably, DJing was not the only outlet for Axel. He sets up his own studio and starts exploring avenues in music production. To put it in his own words: “I’ve always wanted to create the music I had in my mind…”. In 2000, he meets Marco Bailey and starts releasing his productions in Pornographic Recordings (Marco Bailey’s and Cristian Varela’s label). He continues his productions and releases tracks in some very respected labels, such as MB Elektronics, Primate, MB Selektions, Rhythm Convert, etc. to establish himself in a genre he refers to as…Groovy Techno! Nowadays, Axel continues to release his music in world’s top record labels, like Intec Records (Carl Cox’s own imprint!) and Primate Recordings, whereas his tracks are played by some of the best Dj’s around the globe and have featured in well known compilations and mix CDs, such as Extreme Euphoria (Ministry of Sound), Cream Ibiza, I Love Techno, and many many more… After many years of hard work in the studio and together with Spiros Kaloumenos he launches Omega Audio Recordings. Having made Omega Audio one of the most respected labels, Axel is now channelling all his energy into his own brainchild, REMAIN RECORDS. The label was officially launched in September 2007. Confirming his status as the most sought after Greek Techno DJ of his time, Axel headlines events in some of the best clubs in the world, such as the Rex Club (Paris), Womb (Tokyo), Turnmills (London), tours regularly countries like Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland, Korea, Croatia, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Holland and Malta, to name a few, and has appeared in top festivals like Awakenings (Netherlands) Rabac Festival (Croatia), Apokalypsa (Czech Republic), etc : he keeps exciting crowds all over the world, as well as in Greece! At this moment Axel Karakasis is internationally recognized as the best known Greek techno DJ for his full of energy 3 decks sets and featuring rigorous musical selection that portrays his style. Surely, there is more to come from this unstoppable techno rebel….
