On May 31st, 2002, the Sacremento Kings faced off against the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals. The Kings, leading the series 3-2, were 1 game away from advancing to the franchise's first ever NBA Finals. However, the Kings would go on to lose Game 6, a game full of fouls and bad calls, and ultimately the series to the eventual champions. But did the Lakers have some help from the officiating crew to help them out in Game 6? In this episode of Sports Nuts, we investigate whether or not the refs intentionally made calls during that game to aid the Lakers to win their third championship?
We have the second episode of our three part series on the offseason. Jack and Matt talk through the offseason moves of the Atlantic and Pacific divisions.
We take a trip to Hollywood on this episode of Drinks with Binks and talk with Emmy-Nominated Actor/Director, Colin Hanks. Who if you don't know just happens to be a massive sports fan. Grab a Canadian Whisky and carbonated beverage of choice for this one. Aaron and Kyler cover the conspiracy behind the 2002 Western Conference Finals specifically Game 6 between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Sacremento Kings. Did the referees call the game in the Lakers favor to make sure they advanced to the finals and secure them a three peat of winning the NBA Finals?
