The Caylee Anthony Case The story of Casey Anthony and her daughter Caylee has captivated the nation since the toddler was first reported missing in July 2008. The saga began on July 15, 2008, when Cindy Anthony, Casey's mother, reported to the police that her 2-year-old granddaughter, Caylee, had been missing for a month. This phone call set off a painstaking search for the toddler and an intense investigation into her then-22-year-old mother, Casey. Investigations into Casey's cell phone, computer, and vehicle revealed internet searches for chloroform and neck-breaking, as well as traces of chloroform and human decomposition in her car trunk. Consequently, Casey was charged with first-degree murder in October 2008. Two months later, Caylee's skeletal remains were found in a wooded area near the Anthony family home in Florida. CSI on Notorious Murders: Caylee Anthony and Pulse Nightclub Shooting - Special Episode. You can also listen to this interview as a free podcast in Apple Podcasts, Spotify, our website or most major podcast platforms. Throughout her 2011 trial and since her controversial acquittal, Casey has maintained her innocence, offering inconsistent explanations for Caylee's death. Initially, she claimed a babysitter kidnapped Caylee, later stating that Caylee accidentally drowned in the family pool. In the 2022 Peacock documentary “Casey Anthony: Where the Truth Lies,” she accused her father, George Anthony, of staging Caylee's drowning to cover up his alleged sexual abuse of her. The Pulse Nightclub Shooting On June 12, 2016, 29-year-old Omar Mateen shot and killed 49 people and wounded 53 others at Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, before being fatally shot by Orlando Police officers after a three-hour standoff. In a 9-1-1 call shortly after the shooting began, Mateen pledged allegiance to the Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and cited the U.S. killing of Abu Waheeb in Iraq as the trigger for his actions. He later told a negotiator that his actions were motivated by American-led interventions in Iraq and Syria. The FBI deemed the incident a terrorist attack. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, MeWe, Pinterest and other social media platforms. Pulse was hosting a "Latin Night," and most victims were Latino. The shooting was the deadliest terrorist attack in the U.S. since the September 11 attacks and the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history until the 2017 Las Vegas shooting. Around 320 people were inside the club when Mateen began shooting at 2:02 a.m., killing and injuring dozens. CSI on Notorious Murders: Caylee Anthony and Pulse Nightclub Shooting - Special Episode. Hall of Fame Michigan State University Spartans Men's Basketball Coach Tom Izzo previews the 2023/24 season. In his opening comments, Izzo says he's “excited to be back,” and he says he loves his team. He says he's proud of his blue-collar program, too. Conversation Highlights: (3:37) – “We're a week away from Midnight Madness. It's important that we reengage after a lot of what we've been through the last couple years.” (4:55) – “We also have two exhibition games.   (6:26) – “I have seen our team in the Top 5 and Top 10. People have asked me if I like that. And I always say no; I love it. We're looking forward to living up to expectations.” (7:48) – Izzo on his seniors (9:07) – Izzo on his juniors (10:05) – Izzo on his sophomores (11:18) – Izzo on his freshmen (14:18) – More on Coen Carr and the pros and cons of summer basketball. “It gives our players a chance to learn how to act in front of people. They're really good kids. I'm blessed with what I have right now.” (16:24) – On the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan, the importance of high school coaches, and the state of college basketball. “It's the Jud Heathcote rule, 27 years later, that the most important human beings on the planet are high school coaches. I really do believe that.” (18:48) – More on Jeremy Fears and Tom's thoughts on competition making the team better. “Mateen was my best freshman leader. There have only been a couple guys – Mateen and Tum Tum – who have ‘it.' Jeremy Fears has ‘it.'” (21:14) – As he looks around college basketball, his thoughts on reduced opportunities for freshmen because of the portal. “I'm going to do what I do. And sooner or later it's probably going to get me. I'm going to have fun in the meantime, and I'm going to enjoy the fight to keep my program based on relationships and not transactions. At Michigan State, there are a couple things that aren't going to change until the day I walk off this stage. We're going to stay a blue-collar place. The second thing is relationships matter to me.” (25:58) – On the depth at the guard position. “I've done some things for players they better appreciate. I could have gone into the portal, too. They could have gone; I could have gone. I trusted and believed in them. I think they trusted and believed in me. What a great marriage and a great opportunity.” (29:25) – More on Carson Cooper. “Right now, I have as good a staff as I've had.” (31:32) – On how he will balance talented upperclassmen with a stellar freshmen class. “I have to sell winning and personal success. That is a challenge. Winning brings personal success. Personal success doesn't always bring winning.” (34:26) – More on Jaden Akins. “Jaden can be one of the best two-way players, not just in the league, but in the whole country.” (36:24) – On what role he'll play in finding MSU's next football coach. “I'm a sounding board. That doesn't mean I'm in on the decision making. Whatever Alan needs me to do, I'm suiting up and I'm there for him.” (39:25) – Do you feel any more weight than you normally would to give your fan base, alumni, students, and faculty something with this basketball team? “Yes. I'm not excited that I have to feel that way, but I'm proud that I get the opportunity to represent the 650,000 living alumni and a lot of good friends of mine and a lot of people who have done a lot of good for this place. I feel it's a privilege to have the opportunity to help bring us closer together.”  (43:31) – On the prospects of winning a second national championship. “Do I say it's Final Four of National Championship or bust? I say that's the goal. I'm realistic enough to know there are a lot of factors.” (47:36) – You seem to be speaking with more bravado this season…? “We and I have earned what we've got. We've been through a lot of tough times both on and off the court. We're still standing. Let's take advantage of that and stay focused the best we can. I hope that I can bring this place that I love so much what we deserve and make people feel good and smile.” (50:52) – Where do you see the need for the most improvement? “The biggest thing right now is that we have to become a better rebounding team. I'm most excited that I have a group of guys together that have had options to leave and who have stayed. I want to try to win another championship someday. But I also want to keep this the great place I know it is. If that's pressure and the weight of the world, that's what I signed up for, and, more importantly, that's what I get to do.” Listen to “MSU Today with Russ White” on the radio and through Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and wherever you listen.

In a deeply tragic turn of events, two parents and their two children were found dead in their home in Allen, Texas, in what appears to be a murder-suicide. This incident occurred just a few weeks after the family's 4-year-old daughter, Lyian Sherwani, tragically drowned in a swimming pool. Allen Police were called to the residence after a neighbor, who was locked out of the house for two hours, was unable to reach anyone inside and became concerned for their welfare.    The Islamic Association of Allen announced in a newsletter that a prayer vigil would be held for the Sherwani family, identified as Farman Sherwani, his wife Layla Sherwani, and their sons Shaheen, 12, and Mateen, 2. The newsletter expressed deep sadness, stating, “We are deeply saddened by the news of the passing of 4 family members.” A member of the association also told NBC News, “Waking up to the news of losing a four-member family all of a sudden is not something anyone can be prepared for.”    Allen Police Sgt. Jonathan Maness confirmed to PEOPLE that the drowning of the girl is believed to be a factor in the incident, but was unable to confirm the shooter at this time. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are committed to conducting a thorough investigation into the incident.    Neighbors were shocked and saddened by the news. Jacqueline Soto, a neighbor, told Fox 4 News that the family member who couldn't gain access to the home was a grandmother. "She was just really distraught," said Soto. Another neighbor told NBC News, "It was just really sad and really hard. I think all of us kind of just felt for the family as we were watching them mourn in the front yard.”    The tragic drowning of Lyian Sherwani just three weeks prior to this incident has left the community reeling. The loss of a child is incredibly painful, and it is believed to have played a role in the subsequent tragedy that befell the Sherwani family.    This series of events underscores the importance of mental health support for those grieving the loss of a loved one. It is crucial that individuals experiencing such trauma receive adequate support to help them navigate through their grief and pain.    As the investigation continues, the community is coming together to support one another and remember the Sherwani family. The Islamic Association of Allen, along with friends, neighbors, and the wider community, are mourning the loss of this family and seeking to understand how such a tragedy could occur.    In conclusion, the tragic deaths of the Sherwani family highlight the importance of providing support to those experiencing grief and trauma. It is a stark reminder that we must come together as a community to support one another in times of need. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and it is hoped that it will provide some answers to the many questions surrounding this deeply sad and unfortunate series of events. Welcome to the 714! You're never too old to learn and you're never too young to teach. Something I try to keep in mind as I go through life. Because we never know what the universe has in store for us, and if we neglect the opportunity to learn, it can be costly. And trust me, there have been times where it has. In this conversation alone, I learned more about a person than what they talked about, it reminded me about the time when I was 18, naive yet hungry to achieve. I'm proud of how much I've changed, and still excited for what's ahead. Time is a mf'er though, it stops for no one, but somehow if you stretch it far enough, it all makes sense. It shows you everything that happened, had to. So, if your reading this while you're in a dark place, just know it's life's way teaching you, make sure you get the lesson.BE CHANGE:Website | https://shopbechange.com/FOLLOW US:Instagram | https://www.instagram.com/714podcast/Twitter | https://twitter.com/714podcastFacebook | https://www.facebook.com/714podcast/Podcast Website | https://714podcast.comFOLLOW MATEEN:https://www.instagram.com/mateentukhi/MUSIC:Intro: Song: Zero Equals Infinity Artist: 20sylOutro: Good Man InstrumentalHOST:Shyam Ronvelia| https://www.instagram.com/shyamronvelia/| https://twitter.com/shyamronvelia| https://www.facebook.com/shyamronvelia
