The Mississippi queen here is about a dozen bull sharks, ruining everyone's time at the fishing rodeo! It's up to a rag tag group to stop them. I could copy and paste that for about 90% of the movies I watch here, but this one is fun!We take another outing from director Misty Talley (SANTA JAWS, OZARK SHARKS) and dive in to 2017's SyFy Original, MISSISSIPPI RIVER SHARKS starring non other than DAZED AND CONFUSED alum, JASON LONDON (Whom in this episode I confuse with MALLRATS alum JEREMY LONDON)Check out our friends:Spoil My Movie And for more Bucket of Chum, check out the links below:Join the Patreon! For only $2 USD a month you'll get a bonus episode each month, a newsletter, and more!Bucket of Chum WebsiteFollow me on Letterboxd HERE Get bonus content on Patreon Hosted on Acast. Merry Christmas, Kaiju Lovers! While this bonus episode was originally meant to end the season, with the delays in production and its hard deadline, it's coming out before the season is over. In a rare of instance of breaking character, Nathan and his guests, Bex and her husband "Encyclo" from Redeemed Otaku, are all appearing as themselves and not the MIFV versions (although, this is Encyclo's first appearance on MIFV). But since Christmas kaiju media is scarce, they're bending the definition of "kaiju" to discuss a holiday sharksploitation movie: Santa Jaws. If "kaiju" literally means "strange beast," the titular creature here certainly qualifies! In this episode of Movie Torture, the guys welcome Producer Gary to discuss the movie Santa Jaws, a truly bonkers movie and low-budget sci-fi horror film. They critique the acting, plot, and special effects, noting the lack of realism and the confusing storyline. They also discuss the characters and their questionable decisions. The guys find humor in the absurdity of the film, including the concept of a shark with a Santa hat and the use of Christmas-themed weapons. Santa Jaws is a campy and absurd holiday shark movie that received mixed reviews. While some viewers found it hilariously bad and enjoyed its over-the-top storyline and dialogue, others thought it was terrible and poorly executed. The movie follows the story of a boy who accidentally creates a comic book that brings a killer shark, Santa Jaws, to life. The characters and special effects were not well-developed, but the name Santa Jaws was widely praised. If we've learned nothing over the past few weeks, it's that the ocean is a dark and terrifying place, home to crushing depths, revenge-fueled killer whales, and.... Santa Jaws?! That's right, in this week's episode, we're celebrating Christmas in June with screenwriter Michael Varrati (The Boulet Brothers' Dragula, Christmas With You) and discussing Misty Talley's Christmas cult classic, Santa Jaws.
Horror fans are a ridiculously loyal sort, but for the most part they don't love change. Back in 1982, producers John Carpenter and Debra Hill wanted to shake things up in their Halloween franchise. Instead of just bringing boogeyman Michael Myers back for a third slash-fest, the franchise would now be done anthology-style. As in: each new Halloween movie would be its very own thing. Like Tales from the Crypt did a few years later with Demon Knight and Bordello of Blood. But things didn't go precisely as planned. For this episode I'm joined by Scott Allen Perry (@scottallenperry), who I worked with on Found Footage 3D, but maybe you've also seen him movies like Keeping Up with the Joneses, The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle, and the seasonal classic known as Santa Jaws. Chelsea may be our resident Sharky TuesWeek enthusiast, but when it comes to getting in the holiday spirit, Sydney was the one bringing Santa Jaws (2018) to the table. On our latest episode of Spooky Tuesday, we picked a Christmas flick that takes a more, uh, creative approach to celebrating the season. Combining the monster movie genre with a magical object moment, this female-directed film dares to ask the question, “What happens when you give a great white a love of both Christmas ornaments and feasting on human flesh?”References:https://bloody-disgusting.com/reviews/3515708/review-i-watched-santa-jaws-and-it-was-pretty-good/

Last week we sh*t on Hallmark a bit, but today we have a bit of an indirect rebuttal from a Tik Tok user, who claims those movies are harder to make than people think. They themselves work in the industry, so this naturally led us to look at their IMDB only find they are the executive producer of a movie titled "Santa Jaws." The rest is history. Today is a very special episode, and hopefully the first of many CHALLENGES. Jake wanted to get a little creative, so each host assigned a Tubi or Prime Shark movie to another host along with a challenge: Jake assigned Shark Encounters of the Third Kind (available on Tubi) for Ade. Mikey assigned Santa Jaws (available on Prime) for Jake. Ade assigned Swamp Shark (available on Tubi and stars Kristi Swanson) for Mikey. The challenges were as follows: Jake challenged Mikey to memorize and reenact some lines from Swamp Shark. Mikey challenged Ade to write a sex scene fan fiction for Shark Encounters. (PATREON BONUS: we're posting it for our Patreon patrons, so if you would like to sign up for a tier to read this raunchy hot mess, please do so here: patreon.com/slasherspod) Ade challenged Jake to sing for us a Christmas song that plays during Santa Jaws. We don't want to give too much away, but Jake goes over the top, and the boys may or may not help Ade read her smut. Which of the hosts kills their challenge, and which of the hosts bombs it?
