Gender Reveals, Gators & Facebook Criminals - This Can't Be Real...with Brad

Play Episode Listen Later Jun 24, 2026 9:22

On this episode of This Can't Be Real with Brad, Brad dives into three stories that somehow prove common sense is officially on life support. First, a gender reveal party turns into a full-blown wildfire after a couple uses pyrotechnics to announce their baby, leading to firefighters, helicopters, and enough chaos to make Spencer Pratt furious. Then things get even stranger when a man loses his emotional support alligator inside a hotel, forcing confused guests and terrified employees into the most stressful continental breakfast experience imaginable. And finally, Brad reacts to a criminal mastermind who steals a bicycle… only to list it on Facebook Marketplace and accidentally try selling it back to the original owner.Along the way, Brad goes on hilarious tangents about modern gender reveals, Holiday Inn survival tactics, emotional support animals getting completely out of hand, and why criminals should probably stop using Facebook Marketplace like it's Shark Tank. It's another episode full of unbelievable real stories, savage commentary, and the kind of chaos that makes you nervous to leave your house.

In this practical and convicting episode of Your Weekly Calling, Brad Lowe explores the story of Jacob and Esau and asks listeners a challenging question: What are you trading away for temporary satisfaction? Using a personal story about trading away a valuable Michael Jordan card as a kid, Brad dives into Genesis 25 and the moment Esau gave up his birthright for a simple bowl of stew.Brad explains that Esau's mistake wasn't hunger—it was impulsiveness. He traded something permanent for something temporary, a pattern that still shows up today when people exchange character for convenience, integrity for popularity, family for success, or purpose for comfort. The episode challenges listeners to recognize the small compromises that slowly shape the direction of their lives. To bring the lesson into the modern world, Brad shares the story of Ron Wayne, who sold his 10% stake in Apple for just $800—an ownership share that would eventually be worth tens of billions of dollars. While Ron Wayne has publicly said he doesn't regret the decision, the story serves as a powerful reminder that what feels urgent in the moment isn't always what's most valuable in the long run.Through humor, relatable examples, and practical application, Brad encourages listeners to become "legacy people" rather than "immediate people," making decisions based on long-term impact rather than short-term cravings.

The bird becomes the ultimate snitch, turning a tropical pet into relationship-ending evidence. And finally, Brad breaks down the story of a criminal trying to hide from police in a restaurant ceiling… only to crash through the tiles into the women's restroom like WWE's Undertaker making an entrance nobody asked for.Along the way, Brad goes on hilarious tangents about Southern funerals, Tyler Perry movie energy, parrots living forever, raccoon-level hiding spots, and why no criminal plan should involve ceiling tiles above a toilet.

In this encouraging episode of Your Weekly Calling, Brad Lowe explores the powerful story of Joseph and reminds listeners that some of life's deepest wounds come not from enemies, but from people they trusted most. Looking at Genesis 37, Brad unpacks Joseph's betrayal at the hands of his own brothers and challenges the common assumption that following God should always lead to an easier path.Using the story of Walt Disney—who was once told he lacked imagination and faced multiple business failures before building one of the world's most influential companies—Brad highlights how setbacks, rejection, and disappointment are often part of a bigger story. He draws a compelling parallel between Disney's early struggles and Joseph's journey from the pit to the palace.Throughout the episode, Brad encourages listeners to stop viewing difficult seasons as punishment and start seeing them as preparation. He contrasts "pit people," who allow pain to make them bitter, with "purpose people," who trust that God is still working even when life doesn't make sense. The message culminates in Joseph's famous declaration: "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good," reminding listeners that God can redeem even the deepest betrayals and use them for a greater purpose. If you're walking through disappointment, a closed door, or a season that feels unfair, this episode offers hope that the pit isn't the end of the story—it may just be the beginning of what God is preparing you for.

Unfortunately, Pete's definition of "helping" includes showing up uninvited, sabotaging marriages, planting evidence, committing murder, and generally behaving like a restraining order come to life.Brad breaks down Unlawful Entry (1992), a tense psychological thriller featuring Kurt Russell, Madeline Stowe, and an absolutely unhinged Ray Liotta performance. Along the way, he wonders whether friendship should ever involve alley beatings, compares Pete Davis to a customer-service wolf, imagines conversations no sane person would ever have, and explains why this movie remains so effective decades later. It's creepy, frustrating, surprisingly realistic, and proof that sometimes the scariest villain isn't the burglar who breaks into your house—it's the cop who won't leave afterward.

In this challenging episode of Your Weekly Calling, Brad Lowe dives into James chapter 2 and asks a question many Christians would rather avoid: If someone looked at your life, would they actually see your faith—or only hear about it?Brad explores the difference between talking about faith and living it, reminding listeners that real faith always produces action. Using James 2:17, he explains that while good works don't save us, genuine faith inevitably leaves evidence behind.Brad unpacks the danger of “fake faith”—the kind that offers thoughts and prayers but never steps in to help, talks about loving people while ignoring those in need, and knows all the right church language without showing the character of Jesus. With his signature humor and honesty, he challenges listeners to move beyond inspirational posts, worship playlists, and Bible app streaks and start living out what they claim to believe. The episode features the remarkable true story of Edward Kimball, an ordinary Sunday school teacher whose simple act of obedience led him to share the Gospel with a young shoe store employee named Dwight L. Moody. That one conversation eventually impacted millions of people around the world, proving that faithfulness in small moments can have eternal consequences.Through practical challenges and pointed questions, Brad encourages listeners to stop asking, “What do I believe?” and start asking, “What am I doing because I believe it?” The episode concludes with a powerful reminder that the greatest sermon many people will preach this week won't be with their words—it will be with their actions.

In this absolutely unhinged episode of Movie Torture, Brad Lowe breaks down the horror-thriller Obsession—a movie that starts as awkward crush energy and somehow spirals into cursed romance, dead cat sandwiches, demon-girlfriend behavior, and supernatural emotional damage. Brad hilariously walks through the story of Bear Bailey, a painfully awkward guy who uses a creepy magical item called the “One Wish Willow” to make his crush Nikki fall in love with him… which immediately turns into the worst relationship in cinematic history. What follows is escalating chaos involving haunted Build-A-Bear vibes, pee puddles, self-stabbing party games, customer service for cursed objects, and one of the most disturbing lunch scenes ever put on screen. Throughout the episode, Brad delivers nonstop commentary and savage one-liners, comparing Bear to “the human version of typing and deleting a text for 45 minutes” while repeatedly questioning why horror movie characters keep buying obviously evil magical items. The recap somehow balances gross-out horror, emotional loneliness, absurd comedy, and relationship satire all at once. By the end, the episode becomes less about a horror movie and more about obsession, loneliness, and what happens when someone tries to force love instead of letting it happen naturally. Brad closes things out by warning listeners to avoid cursed romance driftwood, haunted relationships, and—most importantly—dead cat sandwiches.

Then things get even messier when a wedding reception turns into full-on WrestleMania after an argument escalates into flying cake, screaming relatives, and Uncle Randy apparently wearing buttercream like a crown. And finally, Brad reacts to a criminal mastermind who successfully broke into a store… only to accidentally lock himself inside and basically turn his robbery into an overnight stay next to the beef jerky aisle.Along the way, Brad rants about Apple Maps, old-school paper maps, drunk wedding uncles, Scooby-Doo villains, and why technology should never completely replace common sense. In this powerful episode of Your Weekly Calling, Brad Lowe unpacks the meaning of Pentecost and challenges listeners to stop chasing a safe, surface-level faith and start pursuing true surrender to the Holy Spirit. Using Acts 2 as the foundation, Brad paints Pentecost not as a polished church service, but as a loud, messy, supernatural moment that completely transformed ordinary people. He emphasizes that the true miracle of Pentecost wasn't just wind and fire—it was fearful people becoming bold through the power of the Holy Spirit.Brad contrasts “battery Christians,” who constantly run on temporary emotional highs, with Spirit-filled believers who stay deeply connected to God daily. Along the way, he shares the incredible true story of Evan Roberts and the Welsh Revival, where entire communities were transformed because people became desperate for God's presence instead of just religious routine. With humor, honesty, and challenge, Brad pushes listeners to stop trying to fake spiritual fire through hype or appearances and instead make room for real connection with God through surrender, prayer, silence, and expectancy. The episode closes with a reminder that the Holy Spirit wasn't sent merely to help believers survive spiritually—but to bring dead things back to life.

In this emotional and deeply personal episode of Your Weekly Calling, Brad Lowe explores the tension between temporary satisfaction and eternal hope, reminding listeners that this world was never meant to fully fulfill the human soul. Using Philippians 3:20 and Revelation's promise of heaven, Brad challenges the constant chase for more money, comfort, success, and approval that still somehow leaves people feeling empty. Brad shares heartfelt memories of his grandmother, who became a mother figure to him after the loss of his mom. He reflects on singing Amazing Grace together, learning about faith through her example, and the overwhelming realization that she would be 117 years old today if she were still alive. That personal story leads into a powerful reminder that, for believers, death is not the end—it's temporary separation and ultimately the doorway home to Jesus. The episode also highlights a famous quote from Billy Graham about being “more alive” after death, using it to paint a picture of heaven-minded faith that stays anchored even when life feels overwhelming. Brad contrasts people who build their identity around temporary things with those whose hope is rooted in eternity, encouraging listeners to stop obsessing over what fades and start investing in what lasts forever.

What starts as a bizarre roommate dispute quickly turns into a strange partnership as David realizes he's the only one who can see her.Instead of doing the logical thing (leaving immediately), David sticks around—mostly because, as Brad points out, “she's Reese Witherspoon.” The two go from arguing like a dysfunctional married couple to teaming up on a mission to uncover what happened to Elizabeth before it's too late.Brad leans into the absurdity—calling out the wild decision-making (like casually living with a ghost), the awkward public conversations that make David look insane, and the ridiculous dynamic of being bossed around by someone who technically isn't even on the lease. But underneath the chaos, he admits the movie has some charm, blending humor, emotion, and an unexpected love story. In the end, the mystery gets solved, Elizabeth comes back to life, and the film lands on its core message about connection—even if the journey there is weird.

What starts as a conversation about social media comments and stand-up bookings quickly turns into a deep dive into free speech, cancel culture, religion in entertainment, and whether people today have lost the ability to disagree without making things personal. Ashley brings the receipts, Randy brings the legal breakdowns, and somehow the episode still manages to include Capri Sun cravings, Manhattan bagels, jury strategy, and a running gag about Iron Dome Coffee discounts. The message is clear: when life feels heavy or confusing, don't pull away from God's Word—press deeper into it.Using the comeback story of Howard Schultz, Brad draws a powerful parallel. When Starbucks was drifting, Schultz didn't push harder—he stopped everything to refocus. Because now you've got:One killer who gets you in your dreamsOne killer who gets you in real lifeAnd absolutely no good option for survivalBrad leans into the chaos right away — calling it less of a horror movie and more of a no-win scenario where the rules themselves are the problem. The moment you understand the setup, you realize nobody is coming out of this okay.He walks through the wild premise:Freddy needs fear to exist againSo his solution is… bring Jason back to do the dirty workWhich sounds like a plan until you remember Jason doesn't follow plansBrad goes in on that decision, breaking it down in his signature style — pointing out that hiring someone like Jason isn't strategy, it's chaos. On this episode of The Floor Recap, Brad, Angie, Ashley, and later Nicki break down what they all agree was one of the best episodes of The Floor Season 5 so far. The crew dives into Paige's aggressive gameplay strategy as she goes for multiple duels in a row, narrowly surviving romance movies and machines before wisely retreating to the floor with a time boost and pageants category in hand. Along the way, the panel debates strategy, pacing, and whether anyone should ever challenge a confident woman holding a pageants category. The biggest focus of the episode becomes Kristen's dominant run through the game. The hosts praise her composure, confidence, and killer instinct as she tears through multiple opponents in categories like air travel, track and field, book club, and Barbie. Ashley provides behind-the-scenes insight into how contestants manage pressure and strategy on stage, while Angie passionately argues that Kristen officially became the breakout star of the season. Things get especially heated during the now-infamous Dion vs. Kristen showdown, where the panel celebrates Kristen dismantling Dion after his “walking ESPN” confidence backfires in spectacular fashion. Brad repeatedly jokes about the season's ongoing “alliance” drama, while the cast debates whether contestant edits are shaping fan perception more than actual gameplay. The recap also highlights one of the funniest duels of the season when Austin struggles badly in the spa category, creating what the internet is already calling one of the most chaotic and meme-worthy Floor moments ever. The hosts can barely keep it together as they relive missed answers involving robes, slippers, and hot tubs. As the episode continues, the live chat fills with actual Season 5 contestants — including Eric — which sends the podcast completely off the rails in the funniest possible way. Brad goes from roasting Eric weekly to suddenly becoming his biggest supporter once he joins the stream, leading to nonstop jokes, “drop” requests, alliance accusations, and pure chaos once Nicki arrives late from performing in Footloose.

This week, Brad challenges a hard truth: most people don't have a faith problem—they have a priority problem. Anchored in Psalm 119:1–16, the episode explores the difference between intending to follow God and actually building a life around His Word.Brad unpacks how Scripture repeats words like law, commands, and statutes to emphasize one central idea: a blessed, grounded life is built on alignment with God's Word—not accidental effort. Using the powerful example of codebreakers at Bletchley Park led by Alan Turing, he illustrates that access to a message isn't enough—what matters is understanding it and acting on it. Lives were saved because they didn't just hear the message—they built everything around it.The same is true spiritually. God's Word isn't just information—it's direction, warning, and life. But too often, it gets treated like optional reading instead of daily oxygen.Brad closes with a practical 7-Day Word Build Challenge: read Psalm 119:1–16 each day, memorize one verse, and actively apply it. The goal? Stop drifting and start building a faith that's rooted, intentional, and lived out daily.Big Takeaway: You don't drift into strong faith—you build it by anchoring your life in God's Word.

Along the way, Brad gives a one-minute synopsis that somehow includes rabies, deaf dads, Deadpool guys getting face-ripped, and the phrase “dead monkey, bad monkey,” while Jacob rightfully asks why a horror movie in 2026 still has ten straight minutes of unsubtitled sign language. They also debate whether the monkey is CGI or just Troy in a fur suit, whether chimps can swim, whether a pet monkey is a power move or a facial reconstruction waiting to happen, and whether MTD would ride a Walmart scooter just for the free parking. At one point, the conversation turns into a survival strategy of “just aim somewhere in the torso and hope for the best.”But the real highlight isn't the movie—it's the spirals.Within minutes, they've:Debated uploading MTD's brain into a cyborg and whether he'd save humanity or just bring a TV remote to a gunfightPlanned a full production of Monkey Cop like it's a legitimate Hollywood contenderArgued about who would survive an alien invasion (spoiler: nobody, because they're all aiming for the wrong organs)Gone deep into Total Gym infomercials and somehow turned it into a Rocky-style training montage between two grown men in an apartmentDiscussed who's dying first between Dick Van Dyke and Mel Brooks like it's a Vegas betting lineAnd briefly turned the episode into an emotional moment about not wanting each other to die… before immediately going back to poop jokes and cyborg dadsMeanwhile, Agent Recon keeps happening in the background—barely. There's a random daughter subplot nobody asked for, villains that look like the same three guys in different hoodies, and Chuck Norris showing up just long enough to remind everyone this movie technically has a legend in it.By the end, there's an explosion, a memory chip, and zero clarity—just like the episode itself. It's less of a movie review and more of a chaotic hangout where the movie loses and the tangents win.Follow Movie Torture here:https://www.instagram.com/movietorturepod/Buy Merch here:https://www.bonfire.com/store/the-hopecast-network-swag/This show is brought to you by The Hopecast Networkhttps://www.instagram.com/hopecastnetwork/
